Phyllis Crane was adorable, and always seemed thoroughly engaged with the material--very attuned to the comic moment. She "married well" and retired in the late 1930s.
@@rothbj1 No actually Diana Darrin is still alive, she was in the short, He Cooked His Goose, playing Larry's secretary, also a few others with Joe as the 3rd stooge.
My favorite part of this video is when curly asked this woman to dance to this Puerto Rico music and when she stood up she was real tall and curly made this weird noise like he couldn't believe how tall she was when she stood up I couldn't believe how tall she was I'm like damn that woman stood 6' 3 ft tall
Just looked it up. Her name was Barbara Slater and she was 5'11". I suppose she was close to 6'3" in heels while Curly, second only to Shemp in height among the Stooges, stood a less than towering 5'5".
@@radicalross7700 When I was a kid, many years ago, Moe was a special guest on the Officer Joe Bolton show here in NYC. Officer Joe was the host of WPIX's daily Three Stooges show. Even as a little kid I said, "Wow, is he short!"
I got a kick out of the Joliet (Illinois) pennant hanging on the wall at 11:48-11:52. Already at that time the Stateville penitentiary had a national reputation for being a notorious jail.
Phyllis Crane's face plant during that dance was painful to watch. If you read up on the Stooges it was completely an accident. She was Canadian, so being a hockey fan I just have to guess that Canadians have hard heads.
