My vocal coach told me to sing this song for open mic... I looked at him like.. 'You whaaat'... He said, you can sing it, your vocal range will get those high notes without effort... A nice intro set-up before the vocal, and then 2 minutes before the chorus even comes in. Brilliant. Those were the days when you didn't have to front-load a tune and get all the goods over in the first 30 seconds. Let the song do its thing...

Hey i tell you That is one of the hardest songs to sing god all those high notes fair play, all live to when most artist's were miming on top of the e pops, Im'e a man and up until recently i could sing Exactly the same as her and i could hit all the high notes properly. i had a bee gees range not many men have, AWSOME singer.
JK's singing on both versions I'd say yes; backing instrumentals recorded, general lack of on-set cables and unplugged guitars a bit of a giveaway. I'd hazard a guess that Janet Kay was pretty confident in her fine singing ability and thought this would sound better sung live...and she'd have been right.
