I’m in the U.S. Army and it’s ironic how before you join you think it’s the most dandgerous thing in the world and you think recruiters are just trying to send you to war to protect America but when you’re in for a while you realize it’s not that bad. That’s why rude people actually say how they feel. Before I joined I kept it to myself though. I joined to travel.

To be real with anybody Army recruiting is the toughest job out there even tougher than drills are in school with being an army recruiter you always have to come up with numbers every month and even when you do they don't respect you back in the early 2000s maybe even committed suicide because of how stress it was

Recruiting duty can be simplified by one rule. Did you make your monthly assigned mission. If you did your chain of command loves you and your quality of life is great. If you missed your assigned mission you’re treated as a complete failure and your quality of life is horrible. Everything from extended work hours and training to bad evaluations. Recruiting command is one duty you need to avoid. College ROTC or Drill Sergeant duty will be much more fulfilling for your career. See for yourself 😊

@@beetogarcia9983 I’m not sure where you are getting your information from. Retention is quite high as it always is. People who do a full contract typically reenlist to stay in. The ones who do their first contract and get out, typically find themselves back in a recruiters office within 1-3 years trying to get back in lol. If the military as a whole was as bad as you described, I can assure you there would be nobody in uniform to fill the ranks, that simple. It’s not for everyone and that is true, but as stated before, many who has joined would objectively say that the pros outweigh the cons ! Hey, I think it would help if you wrote down your intro, that way you could read it and eliminate words like "whatsoever." That word lacks seriousness. Even politicians, the very people who send you to war have their speeches prepared. You are somewhat selling military service, so this is very important. "Hello, this is Staff Sgt Alexander, and I am a recruiter from the United States Army. Have you ever considered bettering your life with military service whether full-time or part-time?" If I heard that, I am LISTENING. Now I'm wondering how the military can better my life, and I'm gonna ask just that. This opens the door for you to explain how, or your sales pitch. If they don't hang up, they're interested. But if you sound like someone's friend, or you sound like someone doing a prank call, you could lose them.

I agree Super Friday, I had some of my recruiters write it down. I also had them memorize a script for leaving a message and sometimes I would have them stand when telephone prospecting. You typically sound less dry standing than sitting.

@@bacritotopmodel4217 yes absolutely! I would say some advice would be to have as much fun with it as possible. Treat people nicely and care for each applicant you work with. People will join the army for the simple fact that they respect you as a person and love your personality so really you are selling yourself more than you are a branch of the military. Smile to people, talk to them, and genuinely offer them to join because you truly think it will benefit their life. Don’t ever look at someone as just a number for the month!
