Vera is sizzling and Andrey seems to have worked on his over exuberance which at times can be overpowering and I didn't like much. I think he is appropriately expressive ( most of the time) and is very present and attentive to her and she responds beautifully to create a very nice rumba story between them. You cant see it in this video but I doubt there a better rumba on that floor.

It is still very aggressive, static, and heavily dependent on posing and over shaping. Every time I watch them I always feel like they strain so much but not get far. Very boring IMO, but I agree that Vera is a good dancer

@@ficklefialka309 Thank you for your adding your thoughts and opnion and Yes, i agree with all those remarks. To be honest those criticisms could be directed at so many current male dancers though especially those from Russia and some eastern European countries. I wont even mention Asia, they for the most part still dont get latin dance at all. It seems that's the way they are coached, and choreography is awful with often barely any actual rumba steps to be seen. To me there appears a lack of respect and understanding of the history, origins or character of this dance or any of the others for that matter. Its a deconstructed version of Latin but becoming way far removed from the original article. Of coarse there are wonderful exceptions. I was highlighting in my comment that at least Aundrey is making a conscious effort to change and improve his rumba. It doesn't make me do back flips by any means but it's a noticeable improvement from the pre pandemic times and I thought it worthy of recognition and praise.

@@joetesta8754 i disagree that the Asians dancers have crappy choreography. look at this under 21 latin comp back in 2016. th-cam.com/video/I9yHcu5MyUc/w-d-xo.html i hardy would say the rumba has no character of the original rumba. i know i'm going to get flame for this but my opinion is that wdsf dancing is the problem. it more closely resemble gymnasic.
