Apparently Cordie poking Waylon's eye is theorized to be like how some female spiders poke males spiders eyes to let them know they want to mate. So that's her way of heavily flirting.
Funny thing to consider. If he did shoot the Sheriff, and teach the spider girl very competently... maybe the incompetence is faked? 'The conman' is a classic western trope as well after all.
Personally, I think that Waylon's little 'skit' with the Pinecone's on the train was a subtle nod as to how the actual sheriff was killed. 'Two-Bit Jerry' tried to rob the Sheriff in a classic old fashioned train robbery, his old partner sold him out, and a gunfight ensued with Waylon (or the ex-partner) shooting the Sheriff. His partner stole the money, Waylon stole the sheriff's badge, and there were no other witnesses to say what 'actually' happened leading to him weaving over the top tales so that if he accidently admitted to it, it would come across as a Cassandra Truth. Note that when he's taking care to aim and not showboating, Waylon is actually a pretty good shot, not to mention the fact that he's a self professed 'outlaw'.
I love that you stop and read things like the newspaper and some of the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it text/background elements in this and Murder Drones. It’s one of the things Liam likes to toss into a lot of his works, and makes me excited to see what you might spot in Internecion Cube; assuming that’s what you’re planning on reacting to next when it comes to his stuff.
One tiny detail I wanted to point out is that at the beginning, when it showed the population as 21, but on the newspaper they said they couldn't have missed someone since there are "like 20" people. Waylon was the 21st person.
14:20 actually, he's wearing a vest and a denim shirt and her claws are clearly serrated. Serrated blades have a famously hard time cutting flesh through cloth (one of the reasons gambeson was effective with less then peak sharpness), which means she'd have likely penetrated him with only the very tips of her claws, at best causing negligible skin abrasions, as his clothing bunched up into the recesses of her serrations, supporting his weight and halting the cutting motion. the bigger question is how she didn't rip her claws chitin tips with that move. I'd assume cartoon logic or cryptic durability.

Well i would recommend glitchtale by camila Cuevas, its a really good series that she finished recently, obviously its based around undertale with requiring to have some knowledge of it but im sure you will be able to pick up most things as you go and again, i highly recommend cause camila basically did a great job, only downside is there is not really any voice acting so your going to have to read (doesnt need to be a reaction if having to read is too much effort, i wont blame you but do recommend you at least watch in your own time)
It was an interesting show. Definitely showed its age compared to some of the animation later on, but it wasn't that bad (unlike what I heard about the series before going into it). 😁
Those are definitely great characters. Although they technically count as different people at this point? I've only seen the first season of the anime, and nothing of the manga, but they did get into the entire sole merger thing.
Theory for Waylon killing the sheriff: its possible waylon had killed the sheriff and acting dumb about it is actually very smart he acts bad and like a rookie no one suspects any thing about him it also explains why he doesnt wanna take a higher up role like sheriff or deputy, since if he suddenly became sheriff everyone would arouse suspicion about him. It also explains why he has the knowledge of manipulation tactics he said to death. Waylon is extremely intelligent in covering up his tracks and maybe that little pinecone toy thing that happend after the intro wasnt his imagination. It was a flashback. it would also explain why he shoots good when hes alone or with someone who doesnt know what the law is. In all seriousness if cliffside has a sequel pay close attention to Waylon. He may be more smarter than you think. I also saw the news reporter saying 20 people instead of 21. There might be a possibility Waylon keeps moving town to town to avoid suspicion? It also makes sense since he calls himself an "Outlaw". (Thanks for reading this little theory i made)
