AT 82 I continue to be astounded by the BROS!! Sooooo much verse & meaning...& all so simple...The harmony makes all sooo wonderful...I listen to this day & rejoice!!!
I remember in the late 60's laying on the floor in front of the TV to watch the Johnny Cash Show just to see the Statler Brothers. I was born in '59 so I was just a kid but I loved them then and still love them today.
I have Always liked the Statlers. My brothers and I sang many of their songs. Even though we were a trio we made it work for us. Lou and Jimmy were mine , Harold was the the tall 1 of the three and the youngest was Don's. From the 3 of us to The Statlers, you guys will be in our hearts forever.
I can't think of a single song from the4 Statler's that I disliked... I love them all … They were incredible song writers .. and knew how to pick great songs to record
Don absolutely should be in the song writers hall of fame he basically wrote it all how can you not listen to the words he penned and not think of all the wisdom/philosophy behind so much of it.
This song was on they Years Ago album. I think most of the songs they sung on their show were on one album or another. I grew up on the Statlers. I bought the entire collection of their albums from a lady years ago on Ebay and had them made into MP3. It gives me such great pleasure to listen to them. And it reminds me of my childhood growing up in Virginia. God Bless.
The first song I remember as a child was flowers on the wall. Being a musician myself and singer, I've met a lot of people. Harold Reid was a man among men. Rumor has it and I believe it, that he offered to give George Younce a kidney, and that's when they found Harold's trouble. Some family members wouldn't even consider it, so Harold was a good friend among his other attributes. Funny! Ohmy gosh funny man! These gentlemen along with the statesmen quartet will always have my heart
Absolutely the best! I miss them so much. Their harmony was out of this world!
I think they call "the blend" of their voices.
Yes they are the best group in Country Music and Best in. God’s Music AMEN LOVE YOU ALL !!!!

they had a terrific system. they voted on songs and only songs with 4 YESES made the album, regardless of who wrote it.
They were the best. Again tonight I took a trip home.
I remember the first time I heard this song...on the album Years Ago when it first came out. Gave me goose bumps. Still does.
RIP HAROLD YOU WILL SURELY BE MISSED.

No argument here. He wrote SO MANY of their songs.
Still the best group in country music.
Without a doubt the Statlers created some of the best songs in country music. They make a love song sound like pure honey tastes.
