  • 2024 Himalayan 450 Issues Resolved after First Service? Detailed Review
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 price for its variant - Himalayan 450 Base is estimated at Rs. 2,85,000. The price for the other variants - Himalayan 450 Pass, Himalayan 450 Summit and Himalayan 450 Hanle Black are Rs. 2,89,000, Rs. 2,93,000 and Rs. 2,98,000. The mentioned Himalayan 450 prices are the average ex-showroom.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a adventure bike available in 4 variants and 5 colours. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is powered by 452cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 39.47 bhp and a torque of 40 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This Himalayan 450 bike weighs 196 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 17 liters.
The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is the successor to the 411cc iteration of the motorcycle. It’s not an updated offering but a brand-new motorcycle that has been developed from the ground up. The new chassis, modern engine, and contemporary features now make it a more worthy contender to the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure and Triumph Scrambler 400 X.
While the bike retains a silhouette similar to the previous model, it looks sleeker and more athletic. Also, the new colour options lend it a fresh visual appeal. The new colour options include Kaza Brown, Slate Himalayan Salt, Slate Poppy Blue, Hanle Black and Kamet White.
Underneath the new bodywork is an all-new 450cc engine. This is the first engine from Royal Enfield with liquid cooling and offers 40bhp and 40Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch as standard. Other features include a colour TFT screen with Google Maps and Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, it also gets switchable ABS and ride-by-wire throttle.
The Himalayan 450 weighs 196kg; a few kgs lighter than the 411 while the fuel tank capacity is increased to 17 litres. Talking about dimensions, the standard seat height of this ADV is 825mm but it can be decreased and increased significantly. Further, the ground clearance and wheelbase stand at 230mm and 1,510mm, respectively. As for the cycle parts, the Himalayan 450 rides on a 21-17-inch spoke wheel combination that is suspended Showa USD forks and a monoshock while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends.

Because of their high lubrication ability and temperature resistance, these oils function perfectly in extreme conditions. Although fully synthetic oils are more expensive than mineral and semi-synthetic oils, they last longer and provide better protection for motorcycle engines.

400 kms on this bike and these are the problems i face- (please tell me if this is normal)
    * coneset sound i guess, when i drive it into big bumps and gutters
    * im facing a little knocking at the figures 👇🏻
    2nd gear knocks - 15-18 km/h
    3rd gear knocks - 26-29 km/h
I dont know really, is this knocking normal at these speeds on these gears?
    * click sounds when i change the gears to 1 and 2 but sometimes the sound is absent,on high speed gears, there is a very little or no sound
    * grunting sound figures 👇🏻
@1st gear the grunting sound will start from 20 km/h
    Please Reply! ❤

Coneset sound - you can check with SVC, they will solve it. Knock is common, try to keep the rpm high to avoid knocks. Gear click sound - don’t get what you meant by this..
Engine grunt is common on higher revvs

Hey man i actually am interested in buying the Himalyan 450 because it is very comfortable for my height (I'm 6'4) and I've taken the test ride and it was very very comfortable and amazing, but we can't judge only with a test ride right. But now I'm hearing that there will be a Himalyan 650 and Himalyan 450 Rally but it's gonna take a lot of time to first come into the market and then run for a bit, and all these prototypes that you have in this bike. I really want to take the best and with so many upcoming things in the Himalyan I'm hesitant to take, but i don't have the patience to wait 1 or 2 years as well. And I've heard complaints about the app and compatible with IOS, keeping the phone on while navigating, toggle lever for the screen is not efficient, tubed tires etc. That's why I need your help, is it a good bike for me to take at around May time? Like will these small small issues be resolved and i get a fun motorcycle to ride?

Hi Nitish , just today only I got first service of my Himalayan 450 done , and yes to me too , the motorcycle feels like a totally different motorcycle but sadly for me , the experience has gone down , I now feel that there are lot more vibrations and also that now gears shift with a quick and solid clunk like "pataaak" as compared to more plush and soft like before , also rear brakes dont work like they used to before even if I push them hard there is no sudden stopping , I talked to service manager about these issues he said he did nothing but only cleaned up the brake pads and refitted them. What is your take on this ?
