I think I was upset because I knew this team could win that game, im not upset at the team at all, they did what they could with the circumstances that happened, Arteta is doing what he can and injuries are our biggest nemesis right now, right next to some strange ref decisions
You’re my spirit animal, Clive. You consistently articulate how I feel and genuinely speak to me. I’m a Patreon member but maybe watching it on here spoke to me more. I for one have become very selective and a bit apathetic to non Arsenal football and general (anti-Arsenal) discourse. It’s clear what they do to incite separation and conflict with their narrative, not analysis with the objective of seeking truth of what the game represents. So I know what I’d rather consume media wise.
Always an incisive and intelligent podcast from the duo of Elliott and Clive. In retrospect, they have said it all about the Arsenal and Liverpool match. What a team.
We used to get pumped by Liverpool when we had full strength team. Now we’re disappointed with a draw, with a makeshift defence and attack. We prayed for times like this. With Liverpool’s second goal, I think TAA moves Kiwior with his eyes, shapes to play in Salah, quality pass, even Nunez couldn’t fuck it up.
8:46 I feel the same way. At our best I am not sure there is a team in the league better than us. Issue is will we be able to show our best with all these mitigating factors.
I was just saying this with my dad on Sunday. I'm enjoying watching a very good Arsenal side. Obviously I'd love us to win trophies. But I'm enjoying the journey. Compared to the days of Mustafi etc, it's light and day.
@1:15:25 to add the Kiwior mistake, as Trent hits the ball into the space you see Kiwior move to the right just a bit. I’m thinking he was planning on trying to intercept the ball but misjudged the timing and left himself to much ground to track back. So in my opinion I think he made a series of small mistakes and it costed us the 3 points. These are the fine margins Arteta is always going on about.
Was disappointed that we couldnt get the 3 points Sunday but given how depleted we were it's not a bad result in the grand scheme. But Ten Haag getting sacked....I haven't been as gutted since I heard my Ex was banging the postman.
What a wonderful show gentlemen. If we are looking at the best players that have played for Arsenal when do we start talking about Saka or do we have to wait to see Saka finish his career to reflect back on his brilliance. My concern is that Saka will go to Real Madrid.
Its interesting that I'm seeing and hearing more people talk about being put off by certain parts of football, because I've felt that way for years. I only watch Arsenal games, and while I obviously check the results of other matches that affect us, its been a LONG time since I bothered to watch a game as a neutral. Football as a sport has been ruined for me by refereeing decisions and the discussions around them (I thought VAR would fix this because it works very well in the NFL, but in England we don't use the technology properly), money (Chelsea and 115 FC), and over the last 1-2 years I'm also very annoyed by the mainstream media (in particular, Sky Sports) being constantly negative and turning into click bait trolls. I play alot of video games, I watch alot of TV shows, I watch alot of films, I watch the NFL ... I love Arsenal so I'll never give them up, but football as a sport just isn't worth my time when there's so many more things to do that are so much more enjoyable.
@@brianfuller4258 agree, at least ref should have let play flow (and VAR decide after). Not sure why he blew when he did, would have been different outcome
Something Elliot said(almost in passing) and is true for me - “it was a good game but some people are not interested in that” - made me realise I’ve been left behind in the football fan world today.
One thing I can't fully agree on Eliot is that we played within ourselves when Gabi went off because Gabi went off. We did the exact same thing in the first half when we were 1-0 up too.
I will never understand why you downplay the league cup. We cannot be looking down at any trophies. Also its not just about how you feel about the trophy its also about the players. They have never been to wembley, never won anything and the players cannot keep working hard every season to not show anything for it at the end. Ofcourse the end goal is not to just win cups but thats a start and they need to be rewarded with something even if its not something that you don't rate.
With regard to Clive's point about having referees from around the world, we already have one, Jarrod f..king Gillett who has refereed as twice this season, stitched us up as VAR just 10 days ago, and who we have, AGAIN, on VAR on Saturday. So he will have been involved in 4 of our 10 games, THAT, is not right!
Keep doing what you guys are doing. Arsenal FC is a social discussion as much as a football discussion. An Arsenal FC fan and even Liverpool FC to their credit are the fans we need right now and the clubs we need maybe even Villa and to an extent Brighton and Brentford. But Man United's plight from being the biggest club in the world has interfered with the English narrative on this. Man United are the issue with this league - they have dominated the league for 20 years with only Arsene challenging them and then City and Chelsea with absolutely dodgy ownership. I also think the Sky Pundits have all tried coaching etc. and they hate the fact that a contemporary of theirs like Arteta got the job and has done this well - Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher all want to be managers and coach because they need that adrenaline and they are now using clickbait to fuel things to make themselves feel important because they can't be in a dressing room to influence young players - I honestly think that's what they would prefer to do. The fact that Arteta who was probably the worst "player" compared to them hurts them, thats why the anti-arsenal narrative. We endured this with Arsene Who - french etc. its fine. Its really about Manchester United being the disaster that it is that has changed the narratives - man city just wanted to take man united off the perch but that has consequences. Man City's legal fees will be more than guardiiolas wages for this year ........
LFC fan here. You have been very lucky with injuries last 2 seasons so a few this season is just a reversion to the mean. And your injuries aren't even that bad! The reds have been self inflicted but these things happen (LFC had 4 reds in first 9 games last season). Saka is world class, just a shame Martinelli hasn't kicked in to a similar degree as he has all the attributes to be a top wide forward
I love Arsenal..... winning the league with these referees is difficult... but the point is this ...I love my club, our club and the values it represents. We're not cheats, we can't win with Sky the BBC and all the media cronies pushing anti Arsenal sentiments and we can't get fair refereeing with the incompetence or corrupt referees. I would rather support our club with all the odds stacked against us than City with their ill gotten gains. Their titles mean nothing. They're empty, hollow. I worry football is going the same way.... empty, hollow and probably corrupt. I love Arsenal
When you consider we've played 9 games. 3 of those down to 10 men n then 3 with those key players missing that's 6 games out 9 we've been unfairly handicapped. And still the best teams are struggling to beat us needing refs help to get a draw . Im very impressed of what iv seen so far .
Well said but people won't look at the context of things and it's only October faced everyone in top who finished in top 5 last season 2 wins and 2 draws Will be interesting to hear the narrative change if we even go and buy and strengthen in January
Partey has surprised me getting back to this physical level. Kudos 👏. But we can't rely on him lasting. But we must be glad we kept him now. He has been vital. Martinelli caused that second Liverpool goal. He doesn't need to score or assust but leaving ball behind left us washing up on the beach as the wave followed him. I love his attitude but folk over egging his resurgence as technically-final ball- decision making still well off what is required. I fear his ceiling is in his football brain but his technique still a way to go too.
Message for Clive , we should gone more at VVD but losing the width on the pitch was to much of a risk , watching the Forest game was the blue print. With Salah and Diaz ability to counter in transition quickly the risk to reward was to much maybe for Arteta.
Spot on from you both. Mental health is important. Reversed psychology is used so often these days. Not worth engaging & it gives these media / people exactly what they want - attention.
good point for Liverpool, The emirates is one of the hardest grounds to get a result, 60,000 fans i dont care what pundits say Obviously Arsenal were favourits in their own ground
They were miles off there best. Away in Europe a day less rest. We didn't have a shot in second half before Gabriel went off. Taylor looked biased. He called foul on us let them play on all the time. He would have let Liverpool play on that 3rd goal of ours. Hope injuries stop but not sure they will. Partey not getting injured so far near miracle. First 15 mins we were second best btw. If Salah thrashed Merino mistake in net its s different game btw. I just ferl you lotcare getting to propaganda levels. We can win the league ,we are good etc but yiu gobfar too far. Barcelona just battered CL champions with 6 under 21s. Finished game with 8 Academy players away from home in most hostile of environments. That is perspective 😢
We hadn't done anything until whites ball to Saka. Liverpool obviously tried not to give us corners and ref apart they did well. We did little second half. Rice delivery finally back. Because he is more comfortable in game in his position again?
Thought this might be a good place to share a thought. Having watched many hours of the Post Office Scandal Enquiry on TH-cam. I am drawn to the similarities to the Premier League situation- The Management. The Officials. The TV Commentators. It all looks very much like a stitch up.
Clever corner from Liverpool. We thought Diaz was there to impede keeper then suddenly he is at front post. That last corner we didn't get at end was a bloody disgrace itcwas so obvious btw. 😢
Much of the media about Arsenal is just fart noises, nonsense and feels like nobody is watching the games but just repeating same old things that are absolutely dumb and lowest form of analysis if you can even call it that.
A lot of these other Arsenal fans channels have a lot to do with the misery in the fandom. Don't watch some of these negative fan channels or they'll have you damage your own mental health and make you feel depressed
1 player injured 1 player banned ..pool were missing more players one being the best keeper in the world (some say) in regards to the non goal 2 fould were committed,
On the headline. We weren't superior for 70 mins. We were good for fairly short period. Martinelli forgetting ball led to their second but encouraging as some of game was don't think we were superior. Taylor was consistently biased towards Liverpool. He really serms to hate Arsenal 😢
U have said it how have felt for years this refs were doing this towards the end of wenger reign ..and they are still doing it now its corrupt have told my best friend who is also an arsenal fan that we wont win this league after brighton...one thing arsenal fans have to realise is there is match fixing in english football i play draws in football betting and am telling u guys now believe it or not arsenal has been fixed for 3 draws already this season..how do u win the league?
Chelsea are a threat. That game might be crucial to win to keep us in touch. Think City will drop aome points soon but Liverpool and Chelsea are very early in new management and if they develop as manager plans it could be a top four scrap. They both have good squads but Chelsea have rotatational ootions up front something Cuty always used to keep fresh. We have Jesus and Sterling to soak uo some minutes against poir aides the way they are playing atm. Jesus and Zinchenko immaturity now looks a worry in the dressing room? Lets hooe Odeegard doesn’t have a sliw return and some compensatory break downs. We are expecting him back firing but thats not a given. We needed to shift 3 more in summer and bring in 2 and a prospect.
As usual Clive is spot on, I was at the game and from the first minute the Liverpool players didn’t challenge aerially they just knocked our players when we were jumping for the ball. This was deliberate to suppress our massive aerial advantage. And at no point in the second half did the crowd urge us forward it was obvious with our unfit players we were trying to manage the game! By the way Martinelli isn’t up to a place in our first team. He runs a lot but lacks so much final ball quality. He can’t cross his fingers let alone find Havertz 😞
My problem is I do not really have Arsenal fans around me to enjoy anything Arsenal with on the daily. Social media is an outlet, but never the same. And lately, all I see happening is the game and then complaining about the game because of ridiculous referee decisions. Over and over and over again. I am tired.
Elliot, you're absolutely spot-on. Our players should learn to be streetwise by infuencing the ref's decisions. I think they're too nice and too honest. We have had two of our players sent off for kicking the ball away. But when players of other teams do the same against us our players don't even protest. Diaz blatantly kicked the ball away and got away with it. Players like Rice and Trossard should be in the forefront protesting to the ref as victims of these injustices themselves.
Clive keeps saying "we need to stop turning people away". The fact is NOBODY will turn away because we will all still watch regardless because we are addicted and love arsenal. There is not a single arsenal fan in the world that will stop watching them totally because of the refs
Bias is not one decision. If you could anonomise all the football calls with AI and get best refs to decide blind as it were. We definitely get statistical less calls over a season and City other way . I would put money on it.
Sterling is the worst signing we've made, perhaps ever. In context, if we'd signed a really good winger, i think we'd have won the league. But we signed ya Grandad. And now we probably, at best, have an even chance of winning it. Big, big mistake. Terrible Arsenal-esque market moment. I feel sick even seeing him tbh.
If Martinelli doesnt make a pigs ear off a good ball to him we don't get exposed on left for Liverpool second. Momentum of team didn't compute him leaving it lol. It wasn't difficult to carry it. He lises it 10 yards further in a challenge. Attack was fine skill wasn't. Martinelli still very inefficient. He will never be world class buy hope he gets back to better but looks squad impact player in top team.
Anthony Taylor only blew 😤 his whistle after we had the advantage to the 3rd goal not on the so called foul ,it was only when we're looking to score he puts the whistle to his mouth and tells everyone that he blew before the 3rd goal. Corrupt Taylor and Oliver 😤
What is turning me off Arsenal atm is our negative football. Hooe that 29 mins is sign we about to kick on. But injuries are a problem and too many injury prone to win league. Ps main stream bashing sounds very Trumpian 😢
the reason why they WILL NOT allow technology is becaouse the game then goes out of the hands of the refs. who are corrupt and controlled by the betting company.
I am definitely not influenced by the media. Haven't enjoyed most of season. Stop talking about the media as lots on other teams too ffs. Refs bias diff thing. Commentary bias is very annoy. The test is farts in the wind
Another disappointing video as this blaming everything on ref decisions as there are other reasons for the draw. Also comparing different ref decisions is irrelevant as decisions will vary, as any decision is an interpretation of a law (what fans don't even know them properly) this is same as fans see things differently. Also, if a ref is giving or not giving fouls etc then players should adapt . ? DR I don't think he was grt for me, he didn't kept jumping forward and doesn't judge when to sit, especially Merino not 100% fit, TP was getting exposed (more later in the game)
Arsenal injuries: 3 Liverpool injuries: 5 Possession: Liverpool 57%. Arsenal 43%. Whistle blown up clearly before last "goal" for any of four fouls and a handball during "attack". Arsenal fans; "Our little injury ravaged team did remarkably well to trounce Liverpool and should have won only for the corrupt PGMOL". The delusions are hilarious.
Please why why are we putting this down to injury’s well it just goes to show we didn’t do enough in the summer transfer window. Next point why I brilliant first half then we parked the bus second half why did we have 10 men. No the game was there to win but we parked bus arteta bottled it but that invited pressure on us. Arteta isn’t as good as people think he is. He is no pep. In fact he was afraid to lose. Pressure is on every game is the game from now till end of season. And arteta will bottle it let’s see how many points we are away from the top 2 come Christmas 😂😂😂
Be careful where refs coming in from. May be good but big countries have some dodgy culture. Italy and Spain are huge football countries with culture of corrupt refs. We need to pull the thing apart. Retrain and hold accountable and bring new ones through. Webb out forst move. Money alone won't solve the organisation, bit like Man U. Top down change first. Taylor won't do that shit if he l9ses his job
@tigergooner7214 my point is you change the folk firing them . Not actually sure the legalof ref body and pl authority vs fifa bla. But needs a total restructuring so i am in charge. Oliver your sacked sue me 😃
Regarding the referees I don’t think it’s incompetence but rather something more sinister because it just doesn’t make any sense how much better the changes you mentioned would benefit the league in general but they deliberately choose not to implement anything that improves transparency.

Love you guys ❤️🤍
We’ll get booked for surrounding the ref. You can do no right when every 50/50 goes against you and the refs look to screw you.
Clive keeps saying "we need to stop turning people away". The fact is NOBODY will turn away because we will all still watch regardless because we are addicted and love arsenal. There is not a single arsenal fan in the world that will stop watching them totally because of the refs
Jorginho needs to play against Newcastle. He has unfinished business with the lesser Bruno.
Bias is not one decision. If you could anonomise all the football calls with AI and get best refs to decide blind as it were. We definitely get statistical less calls over a season and City other way . I would put money on it.
If Saka wasn't pn fire we would have list that btw. He turned us round
I feel sick even seeing him tbh.
the amount of weapons grade copium on display here is incredible
Saka second half wasn't as amazing bringing numbers down. He had 30 min of magic
True but Saka only needs a minute to change a game. That is the mark of a great player.
Maybe AI should referee premier league games because at least we have the benefit over lack of premier league lack of intelligence in referees
This is why ex players need to be refs.
I am definitely not influenced by the media. Haven't enjoyed most of season. Stop talking about the media as lots on other teams too ffs. Refs bias diff thing. Commentary bias is very annoy. The test is farts in the wind
Elliot City getting 75% of marginals for seasons..
Diaz kicked ball away and held up a throw in and fouls lol. Its bias.
Dropped
Another disappointing video as this blaming everything on ref decisions as there are other reasons for the draw. Also comparing different ref decisions is irrelevant as decisions will vary, as any decision is an interpretation of a law (what fans don't even know them properly) this is same as fans see things differently. Also, if a ref is giving or not giving fouls etc then players should adapt .
? DR I don't think he was grt for me, he didn't kept jumping forward and doesn't judge when to sit, especially Merino not 100% fit, TP was getting exposed (more later in the game)
Arsenal injuries: 3
Liverpool injuries: 5
Possession: Liverpool 57%. Arsenal 43%.
Whistle blown up clearly before last "goal" for any of four fouls and a handball during "attack".
Arsenal fans;
"Our little injury ravaged team did remarkably well to trounce Liverpool and should have won only for the corrupt PGMOL".
The ref teams should come from abroad and they shouldnt know which game they are about to referee until the day before.
Taylor and Oliver will never lose their jobs 😅😅
@tigergooner7214 my point is you change the folk firing them . Not actually sure the legalof ref body and pl authority vs fifa bla. But needs a total restructuring so i am in charge. Oliver your sacked sue me 😃
@patrikcarlsson8975 all from abroad lol. Your getting extreme.
We're Kanye and the PGMOL are Robocop... Kanye - Robocop
3rd!
Reffing in fear is giving in to home crowd. He looked scared becahe knew he was biased in hostile environment
Regarding the referees I don’t think it’s incompetence but rather something more sinister because it just doesn’t make any sense how much better the changes you mentioned would benefit the league in general but they deliberately choose not to implement anything that improves transparency.
"a bit lamine yamal"? really? why would u drag down saka to lamine's level. saka has been doing THAT FINISH FOR YEARS! as an arsenal podcast please watch your framing. Never compare saka to players beneath him or dont compliment him at all. It rubbish like this that stops saka from being regarded as THE best right winger in the world. lamine is 17 ffs just burst on to the scene, SAKA HAS BEEN LIKE THAT. DONT PISS ME OFF WITH THAT COMPLIMENT. Do better. THEY WUOULD NEVER COMPARE ANYTHING LAMINE DOES TO SAKA. WHY CANT ARSENAL FANS BE THAT PROTECTIVE OF THEIR PLAYERS?
This is my fav arsenal pod, i am just tired of people undermining saka or not giving him his proper flowers
battling with villa and Brighton for European places in phase V. how u going to spin it hybrid mutants. Now that seven hag is sacked, United will be there or there about too.
process project control context? what is the buzzword for this season? I thinks it is going to be refs
What's yours?

@@milindmatang Sorry. I didn't see that you'd already stated yours in the original post.
