@AlexMercouris I'm also reading some stuff suggesting that Trump is going soft on Ukraine. Trouble is Pretensky is master of manipulation and spin and seems to have devious powers of persuasion. I'm hoping Trump may not succumb to Pretensky seduction technique.
He will view Trump as a challenge and a boost for his belligerence and insatiable desire to get his own way.

Oh I dunno, though he has lost the plot recently, age I guess, Noam Chomsky has been a beacon of light and truth for decades.
Necessary Illusions, Understanding Power, Manufacturing Consent, 500 Years, the conquest continues, The Rogue State (US), and a host of other publications and books gave us the tools (the “propaganda model”) which successfully predicts what the media will publish in any given instance, what narratives they will go with. This is because the media have been manipulating populations for over a 100 years. Chomsky traces it back to letters exchanged between the founding fathers which in essence described how democracy was faked, and the “wild herd” would be told what to vote for and what not. None of that freedom nonsense at all.
Edward Bernays and uncle Freud were largely responsible for their enlightened ideas.
Chomsky has been a famous and prestigious thinker and activist all his life, he was Chair at MIT and the man whose linguistic models serve as the basis for AI language based applications. He lost his acumen and insight in 2022 with appalling analyses of the Russians.

A lot of people underestimates each other in this conflict. Everybody underestimated the Ukrainians. The Russians underestimated how fanatical NATO would be in pursuing the matter. Above all NATO underestimated the resolve of the Russian people. I think that they were expected to be begging for an end to the war right now, but they are lining up to volunteer to fight. The whole Ukrainian country - economic, military etc is akin to a patient in a hospital on life support. Medically "dead" but kept alive by life support provided from the West but eventually that life support will be turned off and the "patient" Ukraine, will simply die. What happen to the country after that is anyone's guess but it will undoubtedly be horrendous for the ordinary Ukrainian who survives it all. All this could have been so easily prevented but you "reap what you sow".

Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.
Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements.
Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time.
Russia's national security was compromised once NATO began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns.
20th September, 2021: Ukraine launched military drills with US and NATO.
NATO is not a defensive alliance. NATO illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the U.N. Charter).
We should never forget what they did to Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq etc.
Who blew up the pipeline causing an environmental disaster?
Zelensky banned all opposition and arrested a leading priest.
Zelensky tried to invoke article 5 under false pretenses. Remember the incident in Poland.
Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed.
Poroshenko said, “Our children will go to schools and kindergartens-theirs will hide in the basements”.
Russians will never forget the 2014 Odessa massacre. The whole world needs to know about it.
Why was Denis Kireev eliminated? He was a member of Ukraine's negotiating team during the peace negotiations. He wanted to help his country.
Ukraine has a hit list. They target artists, journalists and ordinary citizens. Hundreds of children are on this list. 13 year old Faina Savenkova was placed on this list.
Pink Floyd's Roger Waters is on this list. Jimmy Dore (American stand-up comedian, podcaster) and Aaron Maté (Canadian writer and journalist) are on this list.
There is evidence that Ukrainian troops have been indiscriminately shelling civilians in Donbas (they used petal mines and targeted areas where there was no military presence).
The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present.
Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave.
Ukraine has committed many acts of terrorism (car bombs and other forms of assassination). Darya Dugina (journalist) R.I.P.
The first terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed the truck driver and the individuals in the adjacent car (innocent civilian victims).
The second terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed two parents and severely injured their young daughter.
I have done a lot of research and it took me a long time to write this comment. I have stated a lot of facts and I have given my honest opinion.
I have provided a brief summary of events that took place. In order to explain this whole situation in great detail, a book would need to be written.
Hopefully someone will write an UNBIASED book, stating facts and allowing the readers to form their own judgments. Everything I said can be fact checked and verified.

Bear in mind that there is ample precedent for temporary halts to military aid even in the Biden Administration. It doesn't override legislation, it's merely day-to-day administrative applications.
Simply put, if Biden could do it in his administration, Trump can cite that most recent precedent to do it in his administration.
It doesn't require a legislative override to end the Ukraine war, a 90 day temporary administrative pause will do.

It is countries that need to export into the U.S. market (over a quarter of the worlds economy) that are worried, it’s why they are all talking about it. Do you think India has anything worth buying as an export? You already have poverty on a level seen nowhere else on earth besides China, which is why your leaders BOTH pay the tarriffs happily👍🏻

@baddaddy8718, you got it wrong, what has usa got that anyone would buy from it? cars? its japs, oil? its saudis, grains? its russia, electronics? its jap, clothes? its india, metals? its africs. Point is usa offers nothing unique, only reason it a big economy is because goods "flow" threw it (not that it mfg it) & if tarrifs are imposed, countrys will "by pass" usa & trade directely with each other (usa doller too will loose relevenc). Hence tariffs will end up hurting usa more, then they will hurt other countrys & why would any one move manufacturing to usa if goods mfg there get tarrifed in other countrys? it wount make sense. So usa will loose the trade (passing via usa goods) too & not gain/attract the mfg too, for wich the tarrifs would have been imposed in first place. As for usa mfg for it self & not reliant on anybody else, that may be nice, but that will be a very small economy & usa will stand nowere in the world. This is how i see this tarrif thing un-folding, lets see how it goes

As a goodwill gesture knowing Denmark and the rest of EU don't really have a chance to stop the US from taking over Greenland even if they really wanted to do that being to weak militarily even with UK helping them. With UK having some bigger ships but to few people who want to work in the military and sail them..

The Istanbul agreement on which Ukr, agreed to sign it also had a second part on withdrawal Russian troops from the Kyiv suburbs before signing it, did they have it on the paper or it was another verbal promise a lie and trick?
Russia agreed, got withdrawn it's troops but Ukr,, changed suddenly their minds just b,c the BJ, of Brit,, said no to them. Russia always fulfilled their commitments, always and anywhere but they were and are always duped. So what you expect, you have no surprise, the Russian took all in their hands.
