    How beautifully done the calculation by prof. Barton zwieback...he has great intuitive vision about QM and thats why he is one of the leading String theorist..!!

    It may be of interest that the D.E. can be integrated between -infinity and +infinity instead of between -epsilon and +epsilon. In that case the term of the D.E. with the 2nd derivative goes to zero and the term with the wave function itself gives a finite result. Of course the end result for the energy is the same.

    Can someone explain to me how you get the idea to integrate the Schrödinger equation? I see that it helps us get the solution, but I'm not even sure what it means to Integrate a differential equation.

      there is a delta function , and anytime you encounter a delta function your first instinct should be to integrate it and use its property in some way

      @@trewq398 another way to look here is, see that the Schrodinger equation is a differential equation, relating derivatives of psi to psi, and clearly which says, in order to get a solution for our psi, we require to integrate, and that's what should be our preliminary approach

    Parte de la asignatura para locos,poco util para el dia a dia, prefiero la fisica terrestre.

      depende como sea tu día a día. No creo yo que la ecuación de Schrödinger sea de locos, menos todavía para un físico. No se de qué consta la física terrestre. Para al llegar a las leyes de mecánica de Newton?
