If you like Mariko's stage performance, I'd really recommend Oomori Seiko, she's probably the most important musician in Japan's indie scene right now, and her stage performance captivating like Mariko's.
Her solo career was so underrated in its time, completely overshadowed by Seiko Oomori. She couldn't have come back at a better time now that Seiko finally dropped a flop of an album.
I know it's a year late to reply to your comment.... but as much as I admire her expression of freedom, there is a price to pay for it. You cannot be what Mariko Goto is without a tremendous amount of baggage. It's that baggage that enables her to be that way. It gives her grief as much as it makes her great. That said, I don't think I've ever seen a performer give more of themselves during a performance than she does.
Yeah, she posted a blog a few months ago talking about how frustrated she was with musical success, then deleted her blog and all of her previous tweets, leaving just her last one. Sucks alot, and hopefully she makes her way back. :/

hopefully yeah, luckily for me that I have a few of her albums, but there goes my dream of getting them signed.
Same here. All of her solo stuff + Midori and Usagi. Perhaps one day, we'll get the chance!
