Thank you so much for this! Sam did an amazing job explaining the process in simple terms, and also added in some helpful info! Just received my Powerslide Imperial Jade skates today and will be heat molding tomorrow! Much thanks from Western Australia!
My goodness. The people at bladeville jammed my 48-49 spc liners into a box and the foam didn’t appreciate that. They are nothing like my other myfit liners with that second skin tongue... the rigidity and material is so stiff and thick. I am really crossing my fingers that heatmolding does the trick
Will these mold to the shape of your foot naturally over time, if you opt to not put these in the oven? Just got the new power slide next 80 in black and red and they are extremely comfortable right out of the box. I heat mold my ice hockey skates but I don’t think I’m going to mess with my liners.
I noticed that when putting the liners back in after heating you didn't put the inner soles in before wearing them, is it just because you forgot to do it or it doesn't really matter?
Hi! Can you also do this with the Hardcore evo 2012? Ițm going to asume that you can since they are made out of carbon and if yes how many degrees and for how long coz it doesn't say in the user manual. Thanks !
Question: I'm planning on getting next skates and I have a really pronanunced flatfoot. I'm planning on getting your arch supports, but should I put them in the boot together with the liner when I heat mold or add them after the fact?
Hello! I bought Next, after half an hour of riding I began to feel pressure on the left foot from the inside just below the ankle .. I pulled out the liner, felt it, and found a small seal inside, as if a very small oblong object was sewn there ... This is not on the seam, but next to him. It is this seal that presses me, cuts. Tell me what it could be and how to proceed? Maybe you need to make an incision and try to pull this item out? Thanks.
Hi there. Thanks for the video. Can I heat mold in a gas oven or does it have to be an electric one? I'm scared to burn them even if I keep them away from the sides of the oven. Thanks
Hi Marco, not sure of how oven difference would do or not. Just to be sure here i would recommand to do it in an electric one to start and on my side i will check if all good in a gas oven too. Pascal Briand
yes a bit you would need to compress it around the area you want more contact. After heat mold it , wrap the area of your foot with plastic film to compress the zone and wait till it could down. It should work a bit.
@@uniquedrone I was really worried first because I decided to keep the skates after trying even that they hurt me. But now it's all fine. I heat molded them and it got slightly better. But I think also a big effect had just the time I used them to wear them in. So now I am happy with them. And yes - why not heat mold if it's possible. I think I also heat molded twice. I also connected the laces from the liner with the hard shell.
not really. too big skates will never fit perfect, but you can improve the fit by using bigger volume liners like for example the myfit crown liner + thicker socks and more volume footbeds/inlays.

Do another video with a FSK with 45 strap. Not many, if any, ovens get to 90c. Lowest setting 140. "S" which is slow cook (the lowest it will go) is still 100
Many ovens also have a large temperature swing, the actual temperature can actually overshoot the set temperature by some tens of degrees. It's best to get a digital oven thermometer and monitor the temp carefully. You can also act like a thermostat yourself, turning the oven on and off again to achieve the desired temperature.

Sam Crofst on the video says it doesn't matter if it's gas, electric or whatever
What would happen if I didn't apply the heat molding? Would the boot be too tight without heat molding?
heat molding is mainly to correct few point of discomfort. It's not always needed.
