"John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!" Not sure 100% if that's a direct quote, but Jackson is still mid-pack in terms of C-Span's rankings at #22. His ability to rally the faithful appears to have been a strength for him, even if the cause was genocidal in nature.
Historians have been much harsher on Buchanan for doing his level best (which is nothing) to ignite the Civil War. I would be curious to see if someday, as more research is done, Jackson will overtake Buchanan as America's worst president. Jackson should at least be in the bottom third, in my opinion. But I digress.

I remember visiting/touring Jackson’s home as a child about 9 or 10 and thinking it was so beautiful and what a great President he was and that he was now my favorite President. Well….let’s just say my Mom had a more nuanced approach to that idea! Glad she did.

They weren’t poor “because of the famine” …. The famine was a direct result of how the Penal Laws 1695-1829 AD in Ireland 🇮🇪, banning Irish Catholics from an education, owning a firearm, owning a horse over £5 , voting 🗳️…
Incredible blindspots , Irish people came from a prison, the Germans didn’t.
