I am deeply confused as to how this song does what it does. An intense, layered explosion of emotions, and yet… it’s somehow calming to me. Focusing. Helps me get a hold of myself when I feel anxiety taking over. Thanks for making this.
The emotional intensity of this song is overwhelming. I nearly burst out crying the first time I heard it, and I can proudly say it's one of the best black metal songs I've ever heard.
For the entire decade, since the release of Deafheaven's Sunbather, I have been trying to find a song to match the soaring emotional intensity of the track Dream House. Nothing even came close until now. This is amazing. Thank you for this gift.
@@lilmanindacan3074cheers for that tip btw. Forgot to high five you. Been looping that record for a year thanks to you. Bought the cd. Blasted it. Wife not happy haha
Ah god if there is one thing I love it's glitchy, stuttering bits in otherwise organic songs. To be clear, no sarcasm, I genuinely love that. Great tune, excited about the next album.
Despite all the crap that went on, it's really great to have you guys back in force. You've got something special here, keep it going! And this is coming from someone who got into metal more than 30 years ago, back in the mid 80's. Rock on and fuck all the rest!
Thank you :) Kind of crazy there's no 'crap going on' around this song, I've literally teared up several times seeing the flood of predominantly kind and appreciative comment and almost complete absence of hate... no clue where you people came from
I just want to say the ark work and then Kel Valhal were complete game changers for me and I can 100% say that without those two albums i would be a completely different person. Thank you HHH for what you have given us and thank you for this. In 20 years time Liturgy will be remembered in the same way that bands like Coil, Throbbing Gristle and einsturzende neubauten are celebrated now.
Two Days ago I listened to this album again. I hadn't done it for half a year or so although I liked it a lot already. While I was listening to it again I felt strongly in awe. I felt so ecstatic as if I had taken drugs but I hadn't. This song is so hauntingly beautiful and so energetic. I felt so alive. It truly sounds as if my consciousness is trying to transcend. No idea how someone can conceptualize and create something like this. Wonderful piece of art.
Yeah totally. Part of what I like about metal as a medium is that its sonic palette can travel all the way from the intensity of trap music to the complexity of classical music, making it modern and archaic at the same time in a way that I think has a genuinely unique potential to raise consciousness
Hunter Hunt-Hendrix I agree strongly. So much influence from so many other genres and composers. I’d really enjoy seeing you delve into more avant-garde music in the future, like that of the metal band pyrrhon, a personal favorite of mine, or perhaps taking from avant-garde composers like Webern, Schoenberg, or Strauss. Anyways, loved the album, and keep going!
@@HunterHunt-Hendrix For a track that is based in a organic instrumentations, glitch is a bold statement, detaching us from the context, it personaly threw me off guard in what is otherwise a hell of a beautifull track!
Absolutely incredible! You are a musical genius, Hunter! Along with your bandmates, and I wish more people understood that LOL. I'm hearing a blending of sounds you developed on aesthethica and the ark work, if this is a new album to be, then I think it will certainly be your opus so far, I am just loving this song. Black metal always had the sort of classical music tinge to it, but this just takes it to the next level in several different ways while also blending with modern electronic music, its so awesome! I appreciate you guys so much.
Ark Work never quite clicked for me personally but I still saw the merit in it, like most people. This is a clear evolution from both previous projects and represents a substantial sonic synthesis between them. Remarkable how easy you made it seem to pop back up seemingly out of nowhere with this, very excited for the album!
your progression as a songwriter has been a thrill to be a part of. saw you in oberlin, oh a few years ago and it was one of the best shows i've seen. can not wait for more new material

We've been real fortunate to have some wonderful humans grace the Highline the last few years, all the NYC gang (Krallice, Arctopus, Toby, Anicon, etc) have now made it. Such amazing talent and feels.
I'll listen to this track a dozen more times just to be sure, but it pretty much sounds to me like the best thing you ever recorded. It's a bit contradictory but it both feels like a new direction and the sum of everything you did before pushed further than ever. Bravo
It’s like if altar of plagues and krallice had a baby and then that baby became a god and ascended to the heavens and saved the world during some epic anime style showdown. I can’t wait to listen to this again on my drive to work tomorrow,
This is beautiful. I'm loving the crossover between the sounds of The Ark Work and Kel Valhaal. I'm also hearing a lot of post and prog metal elements interwoven into this track. This is definitely one of the best new releases of this year.
