      It was a really good instinct to stay together- most cults will separate new recruits so that each recruit is surrounded only by cult members- it makes them less questioning and allows the cult to keep an eye on any trouble makers (people will free will).

      Good spotting, there’s also some other techniques like requesting they stay off their phones as much as possible so that you get absorbed in the cult without getting any outside information.
      Cults also make you call ahead before you arrive so they can team up and prepare for the insulation. There’s a lot of thought stopping and positive reinforcement going on here as well

    13:28 despite how silly this exchange between these guys is, Zahra saying that she liked them and they were nice is actually kind of scary. That's exactly how they get you. That's exactly how cultists get you to join their cult. They're hospitable and kind to make it seem like they're your friends, like they're someone you can trust. You can't. Once you trust them, you're likely to join them. Had she stayed longer I fear she may have started to get really brainwashed.

    We have one of these Yellow Deli communities in my home of Manitou Springs Colorado.
    Some interseting things about it;
    -they target at risk youths, particularly those who are homeless and women
    -every aspect of these peoples lives is decided by a "council of elders" who none of them apparently know the identities of. These elders arrange marriages, split couples to be re-married, and shuffle members around to all of their various locations. Many are moved every couple of months, to some locations as far as Alaska to fish salmon.
    -there is apparently rampant inbreeding within their colonies, and many of the people who ive seen working at my local location have birth defects/mental disabilities.

Do some research - listen to cult survivor stories, get familiar with the BITE model of authoritarian control, read books, watch videos, pick your favorite medium, doesn't matter, just go learn more about high-control groups and *why* it's extremely dangerous for you to think that they're nice.

    Zhara is the perfect example of why, just knowing something is a cult doesn’t perfectly prepare you to not be indoctrinated. I feel like knowing the techniques they use is also super important. Also, if anyone’s wondering the technique they were using on them is called love bombing, they essentially act like the nicest people ever while making you feel like the most important person ever and once they are able to convince you to join, they start threatening to take that love away from you as a deterrent to not leave, and usually at that point, you’ve given up so much of your stuff and destroyed so many relationships of yours that you have nowhere else to go, but the cult. And yes, I know this all sounds really obvious but remember cults always target people who are going through rough times in their lives, or people who feel lost and want somewhere to belong.

    In Korea there are so many cults it's insane! The amount of times I've gotten stopped on the street by people who want to preach their religion to me is crazy!
    But one time, I let these two girls talk to me because they said they wanted to practice their English... We found out we had a lot in common and even started talking in Korean sign language which I was learning at the time! We made a group chat and hung out about once a month, where every time they'd practice a presentation for me in English and I would help them. I knew they were very religious but I still wanted to be friends with them, so I just pushed aside their 15 minutes of presentation and enjoyed the hours we spent together as friends. One day, we went out to lunch and then they asked me if I'd want to go with them to their church since it was nearby... I didn't know that they were in a cult, I thought they were just religious and wanted to practice English. I was naive and said sure, but then I couldn't get out for 3 hours. They forced me to keep watching these videos about "God the Mother" and kept trying to get me to go upstairs so I could get baptized. After 3 hours of convincing, I was able to leave after I said I'd come join them for their Sunday service that weekend. After I got on the bus, I texted my Korean boyfriend the name of the church and he IMMEDIATELY called me and scolded me. Apparently it's a very well known cult in Korea and there have been people who have gotten kidnapped and held for ransom. They especially prey on foreigners because we don't know any better and usually have no friends or family here which makes us extra vulnerable. It's easy to say that you'd never join a cult or be forced into it, but these people are very nice and have a way with their words. It still makes me sad to think about my two friends who are in that cult and who have given up everything to them. They live in apartments provided by the church and work for the church, their whole life is encompassed by this cult. The name is 하나님의교회 (Church of God) for anyone who's interested. Lots of people in this cult have also "sacrificed themselves". There's lot of documentaries online if you're interested!

    As an ex member of the TT, I clicked on your video not knowing which cult you “snuck” into. I left at about 20, I think? That was almost 20 years ago. This cult needs a lot more visibility online. They are quiet, few know about them, and therefore they can still trick weak, broken people into joining. You got some of your facts a bit wrong, the story/beliefs are so complex but you did a reasonable job summarizing their BS. I was a member before the internet was a big part of life and I was never told about their darker beliefs. Once I learned everything, it was only about three months before I was able to leave. Anyway, it was interesting to stumble upon this video, thank you for sharing it.

    So I'm from Argentina, last summer I went with my boyfriend's family to visit his brother in another city that we had never been to before, the thing is that this place is very small and it is very touristy because it is a place full of nature and beautiful houses. When we were turning one of the streets just arriving I saw one of these restaurants and I knew we had to go (because of watching your video before that). I looked out of one of the windows to look inside and instantly a girl came out to invite us in, that day there were no customers outside or inside. She was very friendly with us, but I must mention that the questions she asked us have never been asked in another restaurant, as if she were very interested in knowing about us. It was really surprising and fun at the same time, she invited us to look at the place even though we told her we weren't going to eat there. The place had two floors and huge murals painted with animals in wild places. On the upper floor there was a group of foreign people, speaking in English, who we interrupted while going up but one of them asked us in Spanish banal things like the waitress. We mentioned the beauty of the mural and another man commented that it was about a prophecy of the future. At that point I was a little shocked with all the attention and socialization that we had done in just 10 minutes in there, so I just didn't want to ask about such a story and go back down haha. The girl from the beginning, who was also a foreigner by the way, was waiting for us. She invited us back to try something from the menu in another time if we want, and mentioned that they had recently opened the place, and were still putting a lot of things in place. In the end we didn't come back. The place was really beautiful, I had never seen anything like it, I won't deny it. A strange and nice experience at the same time haha

    Hey. This video hit me extremely personally and I’m so thankful to see it. I’ve been raised in this religion. My parents are the most kind loving hearted people I know, but this is what they believe. I had no idea I was raised in a cult until I saw this. I needed the taste of an outside perspective. This felt so confirming to see because I’ve never believed in it myself and it’s so good to see other people thinking they’re crazy other than just me.

    We stopped at a yellow deli once on a trip thinking it was a cute little local deli place. The food was so good, and the people (who all looked alike???) were so friendly and held a nice, long conversation with us, at one point talking about how they thought about opening a place in my home state but decided not to. We went online to give them some good reviews and noticed all the reviews were calling them a cult. We looked it up and it was true. Weirdest experience of my life.
