Jeffrey Buttle’s 2008 world’s LP, Ararat, is one of the best. The artistry, the jumps, the spins, the choreography. One of the best of all time for sure!!!
The Brian Shails video. I am not Canadian. I am mostly here for the Virtue Moir content but Omgosh. I have not laughed so hard in ages. Their commentary is on point. I hope they see this. They made my day. 💖
I completely agree with your #1 pic and the Kurt. Also the Elvis era; an honorable mention in that should be the "Battle of the Brian's" at the 88 Calgary Olympics (I was 13 and in figure skating lessons); it lead up to Brian Orser passing on the baton to Kurt. Elizabeth Manley also gave an amazing skate at the 88 Olympics; capturing silver.
Great video guys! You're so young! I think you should title this "Best Canadian Skates - since the 90s." because, you're missing, I think, the "GOAT " artistic skater ever, Toller Cranston! Almost any of his skates. ;-) This Sunday, 1/24, will be the anniversary of his passing. *insert heart, skate and sad face emojis here
Hey guys, don't forget about Gary Beacom, one of the most innovative skaters from the late 80's. When he skated to Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man", he nearly brought the house down.
not a popular opinion, but virtue moir's 2016 pilgrims of a long journey/latch is perfect, so is their prince number of that year. I like a lot of Jeffrey's ex numbers. He really shows his personality in those numbers. I feel that Jeffrey is also the first guy to bring the whole jazzy guy with a suit kind of number to competitions in men's singles. SPs like sing sing sing, take five, adios nonino are programs that made his style iconic for a lot of canadian men. lol. Emanuel had so much potential, what he was missing was discipline and control. If only he stopped popping jumps. His 2004 routine was so weird though. lol.
& WTF Rochette is higher than Osmond,Kurt Browning & Stojko ???!!🤨 Her titles are NOTHING compare to them!! 😒Even to only Kaetlyn Osmond ,who is first world champion since 1973 & three time Olympic medalist , Olympic champion 🏆 🥇 🏅!!
Should have been top ten but what about Patrick Chan, Brian Orser, Elizabeth Manley, Underhill and Martini, Dubreil and Lauzon, now maybe it was the last two decades or so but still to include Emanual and not Patrick who would be part of the last 20 yrs. They should have been top 7/ten.
Yessss!!! Virtue & Moir ❤️
Salé and Pelletier’s “Love Story” LP at the 2002 SLC Olympics? At least an honourable mention!
The best!!!!
First that comes to my mind.
It's the reason why we even have the new system in the first place!
virtue and Moir THE KING AND QUEEN OF ICE DANCE
Truth!
Jeffrey Buttle’s 2008 world’s LP, Ararat, is one of the best. The artistry, the jumps, the spins, the choreography. One of the best of all time for sure!!!
!!!! this
This should be a top 15 or 20. So much great programs! Patrick Chan!!! Sale/Pelliter.
Touche!

I remember being excited watching Shae-Lynn Bourne & Victor Kraatz skate to Riverdance.
Tracey Wilson and Rob McCall at the 1988 Olympics. Their toe pick race down the rink was so well done!
Barbara Underhill and Paul Martini! That Gershwin skate 💯
Patrick Chan!!!!!! How could you forget him?
Tracey Wilson and Rob McCall at the 1988 Olympics were beyond beyond imho. That run down the ice on picks was awesome.
One of my favorites of all time.
Elizabeth Manley, 1988 Olympics!!!! Hellllooooooooo??!!! 😂 Also Orser and McCall/Wilson winning medals in Calgary as well.
Also:
Brasseur & Eisler winning '93 Worlds
Sale & Pelletier's LP 2002 Olympics
Josee Chouinard's LP '93 Canadians
Underhill & Martini winning '84 Worlds
I completely agree with you.
No Patrick or Brian had me SHOCKED
That throw at 9:35, I’m dying! So hilarious!!!!!
You can not talk a bout Canadian figure skater's with out TOLLAR CRANSTON...........6 Time Canadian Champion and one of the greatest IMO..
You guys are fantastic. Love listening to you both!
Thanks so much!

When Nexxice (synchro) won the world championships on home soil in 2015!
And Liz Manley at the 88 olympics!
Best of all skaker tessa scott in the world..
Missing the ‘88 Olympics :)
Loved this :) Would love to know what you think Patrick Chan's greatest skates are.
Maybe Patrick Chan deserves his own list... hmm...
@@CBCSports I feel like there's potential for another top 7 Canadian skates 😂

Thanks for the idea!
Karen Magnussen winning the Worlds in 1973. Of course Kurt Browning, 4 time world champion...everything he does! Why wasn't Toller Cranston mentioned?
Yes, I forget too add a bunch of other slater's in my earlier posts.
No mention of Patrick Chan and his 10 national championships, Brian Order, or Elizabeth Manley.
I forget to add Tracey Wilson and Robert Mc Call
Good looking out! Plenty left to talk about for the next installment!
Guys very enjoyable! Would love to see what each of your top 3 in your disciplines would be any era.
No mention of Elizabeth Manley :/
Good point!
Please show me Mass
Elizabeth Manley 88 Calgary Silver and Toller Cranston 1976 bronze

Do a top 10 Favourite Canadian Junior Men's and Junior Women's list.
Poor Patrick just got shafted. :(
You forgot Sale-Pelletier … Salt Lake City 2002 ;-)

Liz Manley at ‘88 Olympics?
Guys last year at Halloween you did worst costumes, it would be awesome to make best costumes this year!!!
Love that idea! Thanks Meltem!
Man if sandhu, I haven’t heard that name in a while. So inconsistent but man was he talented.
Love Story 2002
1988 Calgary Liz Manley Silver medal!
Toller Cranston the very best

How about some comedy? Try Kurt Browning's clown skate, especially the one in Alberta after the 2002 Olympics fiasco.
#5 should be your #1 :-)
Patrick Chan??????
Comment on the back of Karen Magnussen was not called for and quite disrespectful.
I found it perfectly respectful and humourous.
@@arthurtheaardvark13
One day perfectly respectful will fall on your back.
