    We are going to tell you EVERYTHING that we know about how to actually get Argentinian citizenship. Everyone talks about it but there is no solid information on the actual process. We are here to change that.
    Obtaining Argentine citizenship can bring several benefits as a second passport. As an Argentine citizen, one can enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to several countries, including most of South America, Russia, and the Schengen area. It also provides access to healthcare and education facilities, as well as the opportunity to invest in the country's economy.
    To obtain the rentista visa in Argentina, an applicant must show a monthly income of at least USD$2000 per month. They also need to have a medical certificate, proof of accommodation, and a criminal background check. The visa is valid for one year, renewable for an additional year.
    It will take you about 3 years ON THE GROUND to get the actual physical passport - this is incredibly fast.
    Contact us if you need help with the process!

    I'm looking for a home, preferably in Latin America. Mexico would have been my first choice, but they have priced themselves out of the market, so to speak. I can totally afford to LIVE there, but I can't fulfill the requirements of permanent residence and citizenship. Then I looked at Paraguay and they are being pissy for some reason. Argentina (which has actually been suggested to me by many of my students already) is starting to look pretty good. I will definitely book a call!

    Great video! Subbed! I’m a Canadian citizen and would like to take the CELTA course in BA and spend a year teaching English in the capital of Argentina. Do you think I’ll be able to rent a flat on only a tourist visa and will there be any serious repercussions for overstaying on my tourist visa?

    • @NearShoreLiving
      @NearShoreLiving  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes and No.
      The main issue a lot of landlords have is that people can take over the apartment by just living there because of the laws the government has.
      real estate is in short supply in B.A mostly (I think) because ppl would rather it sit there empty than rent it out.
      Either way, it makes it hard to find a place to rent.
      So yeah, it is possible. A lot of landlords would be happy to rent to a foreigner/Canadian and ignore all the bs requirements but it'll be hard to find these landlords because they get hundreds and hundreds of messages and some deal with real estate agents which are basically drones.
      I would suggest maybe rent an airbnb first and then negotiate with the landlord for a long term thing outside of AirBnb.

    Their retirement visa's for elderly expats are very expensive compared to many other countries. The expense of just getting there is significant for Americans and Canadians ? -- That is disappointing for many who would like to perhaps retire there and who could otherwise easily afford the monthly expenses and benefit the local economy ? -- A good example is Cambodia who charges $180 / year after the first 30 days for merely $35 ! No other requirements - period ! And you don't have to leave the country - if - you don't want to ! $5,000 for Argentina - and having to leave - is ridiculous.

    Great info thank you! I have questions.
    - Does the time it takes to get citizenship start from the day you arrive in Argentina or does it start on the day you get the Rentista visa?
    - During those 2 years, can you be absent from the country for 6 months per year? I've heard from some that you should spend at least 6 months per year, some say 7, some say 10. Is that simply up to the judge and there's no actual minimum?
    - There seems to be a new digital nomad visa. I heard that it allows you to not pay taxes on foreign income for the duration of the visa; could that be true? I also heard Argentina doesn't tax you for your first year in the country.

    • @NearShoreLiving
      @NearShoreLiving  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      - Technically when you get your visa/residency.
      - There is a bunch of wiggle room here but yes, at the end of the day technically, it's up to the judge.
      - We have a video on my thoughts on taxes in Argentina - it might be worth a watch.
      - I wouldn't recommend the digital nomad visa in Argentina tbh

    The US doesn't have a tax treaty with Argentina, and so this raises the possibility of double taxation of income; on the other hand, BECAUSE there's no tax treaty, IRS officials are unlikely to cooperate with Argentinean tax authorities if/when they were to ask for information about a given person's tax history. And so it would seem then that a US citizen living in Argentina wouldn't necessarily have to disclose all of his income (from outside Argentina) and assets (located outside Argentina) to the Argentinean authorities.

    This is interesting. I live in the U.S. I’m looking to obtain a 2nd passport. My mom is from Argentina. She was born in Buenos Aires and came here as an adult. I noticed the Argentinian passport is visa free to countries that I would like to visit that I couldn’t with the U.S. like Russia is visa free travel. I do agree that growing up with the Argentinian side of the family the food is delicious.

      You can probably get it through your mom!
      Email the consulate near you and ask for information.

      If you are feeling lazy and don't want to contact them, we can also provide that service

There is open-ended information for obtaining temporary residence with a Rentista visa. I am trading online. Ebay, Amazon, ETSY, Shopify, etc. I have a good income level. My payments through USA Citibank come in weekly periods. Can I present the bank extras of these payments as proof? Also, will the payment receipts I get from Argentina by making regular money transfers through Western Union work?
