I seriously want to find those steel baking rods and make this as soon as I can. My neighbour and good friend love baklava and cheesecake so I can't wait to surprise them with this delicious looking combination. Bravo!

This is sooooo lovely and luscious..... I'm just a little worried about the amount of sugar in the cream.... is it possible to reduce it without ruining the texture of the cream? Maybe as an alternative one could fill the rolls with vanilla custard mixed with whipped cream....
What is best way to serve these? I want to make day before function. I wanna make 60 pieces. Can I make and refridgerate them? Or will they turn soggy? Should I make them in syrup day before leave them out all night in morning do the pastry cream and pipe them. Sorry I just want them to turn out.
When I made them I left them overnight into the syrup to absorb it completely. The next day I filled them with the cream and drizzle with little syrup before serving. I store them in the fridge for 2 days and they were pretty much crunchy! But for best results fill them when you serve them!❤️

@@mariaspastryideas also I heard when making baklava if they phyllo sheets dry out it’s bad. Are you doing anything here to keep them moist ?
You have to cover them with a wet towel and take only one each time.
