I am convinced that when subs are introduced, the anti sub rockets will be added to the Swedish subs. After that’s balanced, anti ship missiles will be added but can only target capital ships and lock on when the ship is spotted to launch. Can’t track behind islands.
I served on Småland back in 1978 for 9 months. It was likely the last time she was commissioned. A very nice memory now. Småland was really powerful with the 58000 hp. Some times 'full steam ahead' >35 knots.
Småland was a quite big ship to swedish conditions. If i remember right 125 m long, 12.5 meter width. The crew was appr 250 men ( no women at that time). The purpose was to educate seamen and officers to be prepared for a potential war situation. My specialisation was artillery. i can most likely still disassemble/ assemble the Bofors 40/48 anti aircraft gun in cpl darkness 😉The cold war was very present. Very often we came very close to Sovjet union warships.

Very interesting ships, I am Portuguese and I feel that the history of my country is located in the shadow of the great deeds of the great nations of the Second World War, even though we did not participate, we had great ships that nobody remembers, such as the destroyer NRP Vouga, who rescued the crew of a German submarine, or the NRP Afonso de Albuquerque, who fought a desperate battle against Indian navy cruisers. But that's just my opinion, except for the rest, I love the videos, good job

Those two M50 Bofors 120mm DIT were serious candidates for the 'new' Zeven provicien class (at the turn of the century!). 2:14 Know that gun inside and out. They were 'automatic' but also almost purely mechanical. No electronic switches or safety features. Just a mechanical switch that, when all 5 checks were positive, would allow the gun to fire (think of it as a cylindrical lock, when all pins are pushed to the correct position the lock would open).
”Välkommen till Göteborg” translates to “welcome aboard destroyer Småland”. He just said “Welcome to Gothenburg! We are aboard the destroyer Småland”. Sorry for my tiny rant

@@huskythedinosaur1592 well most DDs are very very fragile and a single mistake can make your HP disappear but Neu can heal A LOT! She has over 40k potential HP recovery so she takes damage like no other DD
This ship is in my city ”Göteborg” and its a part of a small boat museum which you can visit, and you can board the actual destroyer yourself. It might seem like a cool ship and all, but this boat is unfortunatley not as poupular as it should be. Its a beautiful piece of art, in a great watersize city, but not many people like that the boat is there, there’s been some complains. Hope you found this info good! :)

My dad worked at Alfa-Laval, who built and serviced her steam turbines. He was present for a "crash test", in which you go from full speed (in excess of 40 knots) to full reverse (to stop as quickly as possible). She did this in no more than half a boat length, during which time she dipped the whole front of her underneath the water. Of course, the turbine had to be fully disassembled afterwards in order to check that it was undamaged. But it's quite impressive to stop so fast.
this is the only destroyer that had so called " BALANCE " me: I don't wanna face that destroyer again, and if they allow them to use anti sub or warship well we might be sandwich this time

I would guess "Hästens" or some other company that makes more expensive beds, unless it was custom made. Also back in the 50's Ikea wasen't a big company really.
These anti ship missiles came directly from the V-1 and V-2 rockets that went astray and landed in Sweden during WW2. The lineage of missiles is still around today as the RBS-15.
Thanks for doing this. I suggested to World of warships Legends to build this and they laughed at me. So again, thanks for not beeing ass holes and showing good gaming spirit.
The one explanation i truly miss in this one is the purpose of the 6 rails mounted on each of the main gun turrets. They seem to be (somewhat obvious) for a missle system but which and to what target type would have been nice to know as well.

The swedish were completely neutral, but they dealt weapons to both sides. The oerlikon was theirs
