How about heavy wet snowplow snow at end of driveway? Recently my neighbors couldn't use their battery one as the motor was starting to smell burnt. My old trusty gas toro had no problem.
I have a 2 stage 24” snow blower and when it snows I fire it up at 5am so I can get my driveway and sidewalks cleared so I can get to work in the morning. I’m sorry if I wake up the neighbors however I usually clear their driveways as well.
I have an Ego electric single stage and a DR gas 2 stage, here in south central WI. The Ego kicks ass, handled 80% of the stuff we got this year, including wet stuff and 1/4” ice. I had to get the gas beast out once. Totally thrilled with the electric.
I rest my case. My broken body and my gas blower was needed to bail out the battery blowers. 80% isn’t an option when you’re using a snow blower because of seriously painful injuries.
Need some advice. I have EGO Lawnmower, blower and trimmer. Toro battery 1 cycle has much better reviews than EGO 1 cycle. Seems 1 cycle EGO snowblower is the weak link in their products. Would you recommend going with the Toro battery 1 cycle? Its expensive and close to the EGO 2 cycle one. Since I have EGO batteries. But EGO 2 cycle is much bigger. The EGO 2 cycle has great reviews. I have 6 car driveway.
man such a tough question. my driveway fits about 4-5 cars. the single stage toro works great. I'm a huge fan. I haven't had the pleasure of checking out the ego blower yet. what I will say is this. charging the batteries is the biggest issue if and when you get two snow storms in a row. which is why in your situation i'd probably stick with the eco system you're most involved with. but i will say i've been super impressed with the toro blower. its one of my favorite battery operated tools.
I was in the same quandry, but decided on the Toro. The $1299 self-propelled one. It's not a true self propel, but it does help a lot in pulling itself along. Saw a video of a guy clearing about 4 inches of wet snow with one hand on blower and his camera in the other. It pulled itself. Reviews on the EGO self propel said it did nothing at all to propel itself. The other reason I went with the Toro is that EGO doesn't have a great reputation for service. And finally, Toro introduced the first residential snowblower in 1952. Ego started making them only 6 years ago. Practice makes perfect. Good luck in your purchase.
the Honda was a beast in its day BUT parts are ridiculous to find and really expensive (Taryl Fixes All just did a video on them)...electrics can kick some serious butt but my Ariens kicked EGO's rear end this past weekend with the heaviest , wettest snow possible this season...I love my EGO's for the summer tools but the gas stuff rules in the winter...great job Ginga
That Honda of yours is ancient. My HS720 which is new will throw that to the road. Nothing against Toro as I just bought my dad a new gas one as they self propel better than Honda’s. Now you have me interested in their battery one but my Honda HS520 was still working perfectly when I gave it to my father-in-law and it is 15 years old. I am worried about longevity with the battery one.
The camera was two different angles, but by the looks of it the Honda threw it just as far as the battery unit, Sorry. Also, after about 5 years the Honda will be still running while the Toro would be obsolete. You seem to keep saying some kind of slur about Honda being from "Chiner." This seems to be the stereotypical ignorance and prejudice from some Americans if you want to go that route. The irony is Toro's more likely from China, the Honda was assembled in the same factory as its walk behind mowers in the US in Swepsonville, NC. The GS engines in Honda snowthrowers were also at one point built in the States if I recall but don't quote me on that. At least Honda builds many of these models in Japan, a place that can see more snow than many places in Canada or the US so at least it has that knowledge that can tell them how to build it in North Carolina. Toro was, still is and boasts that it is a turf company. I question even this because Toro lawn mowers never really impressed me, with the exception of maybe the ones powered by Suzuki engines but the other things were below standard like crappy plastic transmissions, crappy paint job, the strange use of belted blade clutches instead of true blade stop mechanisms seen on better machines from John Deere and Honda and currently from other companies like Scag and Weibang, a Chinese commercial mower manufacturer, or as you put it, "Chiner." As far as I am concerned, anything that says, "Made in USA" no longer means it is guaranteed to be satisfactory in quality or performance. The Europeans and Japanese have much better quality and higher standards and have raised the bar many times over the years and the Chinese are now entering the game and blowing the US out of the water. I don't agree with the Chinese government politically but I also don't agree with a lot of the things the US government does either and both countries' effect on the world stage. There are American companies that seem to have a grasp on making quality products and standing behind it are those making commercial grade products like Aqua-Air Wet and dry, Roto-Vac and residential grade products being Rexair, maker of the Rainbow cleaning system.
@@mission51able you can do better..... horrible comeback. Delete it and try again. I really rely on good trolling to brighten my day and you let me down
That Honda 621 has a commercial GX series engine that will outlast brand new Honda single stage snowblowers. Honda does not make them like that any longer. Wear on the rubber paddles will limit how far it throws.
Did you check the paddle wear on your gas one? It’s throwing snow like they’re worn out.
They were replaced 8 uses prior to this video
How any runs do you have on the toro at this point? The paddles loose their punch very quickly once they wear down even a little bit.
Woke up to snow in England this morning, so this video is well timed!
Perfect!
@Pest and Lawn Ginja Snow blowers aren't common here, we just chuck salt/grit around. We only get a few days a year of snow normally.
That Toro kicks ass. When time comes I’m going to have to look at one. Good video.
Thanks Sean!!!

I ran that test in my video unboxing / review. cards in the beginning of the video. it did fine up to 20" of wet compact snow.
My 2 -stage Ego has no problems with snow on my driveway or the end makes no difference 🤣
Exactly.
I have a 2 stage 24” snow blower and when it snows I fire it up at 5am so I can get my driveway and sidewalks cleared so I can get to work in the morning. I’m sorry if I wake up the neighbors however I usually clear their driveways as well.
so true! two stage is super nice.

Thanks for the feedback! Tech feels like it has finally arrived for winter work.

I know it’s too late in the season but wonder how they would stack up in January dry snow as opposed to this heavy snowball stuff.
i put a card in the video of the unboxing and review, its in the beginning of this video.. i used it in dry snow.
Do like the idea of those rubber paddle attachments to get a 2 stage to throw further?
Be pretty awesome if you weren’t going through icy materials
Must have been nice to get snow. Unfortunately this year NJ didn’t get any.
It was a long time coming. We had dry winters for a very long time. I enjoy the snow

Thanks brian. Love the feedback. This is one of the few battery devices I really loved out of the box.

Those Honda’s are built to last.
Very impressed with the toro. It’ll be interesting to see longevity. With no oil or change items I’m optimistic
Which one stripes better 😂
Probably the toro 2 stage hahaha
Ginga is ready if there’s a fertilizer shortage 😂
😂😂😂 Snow will not go away!!!!
You have a small yard you should use a shovel battery can’t do nothing in big yarduse it for 1 full hour and then we can talk
didn't realize a drive that fits 6 cars and a trailer was small LOL thanks for educating me.

Bought a 621 with gx160 engine this winter to supplement an ego
Torque on the electric is a pro and no fumes and noise is also a benefit. Gotta see the Honda in dry stuff though
The 621 is a legend
Toro X Honda ???🤔
sim! espero que vc gosta
Yow bro, why do you keep calling the Honda snow blower "China "?That's fowl bro
I explained it in the video. That particular model was assembled in China.
So isn't the electric one in the video.

Try comparing to at least a 2022 gas model, and not a 10+ year old worn out one. It's like comparing a Tesla to a 2010 Honda Civic.
sometimes the 2010 honda is a good one

Naw. Bring it to my place in Canada, I’ll show you what 35+ year old 8hp Tecumseh powered craftsman can do.
