Both games are good in their own right, you are correct. I just find myself far less frustrated when I play Shadowverse. I feel like a loss is my fault, rather than a Bomber coming down on Turn 2 and deciding the game.
I still love the Warcraft universe and while I probably will make Shadowverse my main card game, I will still dabble in Hearthstone.

Some differences between the two (gameplay-wise) would be.. In Shadowverse:
    No hero powers
No weapon cards (instead you have Amulet cards which are like minion/spell hybrids - they go on the field but cannot be attacked by minions, and can only be destroyed by effects)
No coin and extra card for the second player (both draw 3, but 2nd player gets a different advantage)
Evolution system (all 'followers' (minions) can evolve.. you can start evolving on your 5th or 4th turn and can do it 2/3 times, depending whether you go 1st or 2nd. It's a limited resource but it can be replenished through card effects. Evolving a monster changes it to its evolved form, which is usually but not always +2/+2 version that sometimes has additional effects, and on top of that it gains "rush" effect - can attack on that same turn but only other followers). It's a nice mechanic to help you not get outtempo'd by your opponent, and gives you the chance to swing the game back in your favor.
20 instead of 30 life points
40 card decks instead of 30
You can have 3 copies of the same card in the deck, instead of 2.. even legendary cards
5 minion slots instead of 7
While keywords have different names, some have same effects - for instance Fanfare is Battlecry, Last Words is Deathrattle, Ward is Taunt etc, there are other keywords with exclusive mechanics to this game ('Evolve' for instance is an effect that triggers upon evolving your follower into its alternate form - and aside from stats and effects, they even get a different artwork and flavor text when evolved)
But in summary, when it comes to shadowverse it has lighter RNG, is more fast-paced, people say it has better balance overall, so yeah.. If a lite weeb-friendly version of hearthstone that actually did try to improve the core gameplay mechanics, and is less influenced by rng sounds good to you, you might want to give it a shot (or watch some gameplay videos, that works too)

Shadowverse is a breath of fresh air for me. I love hearthstone but blizzard has completely fucked up the meta and It's unbearable to play ladder for one to two games before being exhausted. But when I picked up shadowverse I played it for four hours straight and loved every moment of it and I can't wait to continue playing. Gotta say, Havencraft control is super fun to play and is kind of viable. And you don't have to have 10 legendaries in a control deck to make it viable.

the only reason why I left hearthstone is because of that dumb ass expansion with cthun. before cthun every class had a. purpose and there was many builds. but once cthun came out. there is only one way to play hearthstone now... whoever pulls it off first, but I never made a cthun deck I just stayed with the classic builds. and would get rekt thousands of times by cthun

    • @winterh46334
      @winterh46334 8 ปีที่แล้ว

dude... Cthun has like one semi viable deck. Midrange shaman is the real Problem.

Midrange shaman evolve ? Yah but still gets rekt by cthun lol

    • @winterh46334
      @winterh46334 8 ปีที่แล้ว

Cthun kinda works on warrior and Priest, but on ladder, once you get past rank 18 you will only win 1 out of 10 games with Cthun. And Cthun looses to MIdrange Shaman 99 out of 100 times. JUyt watch the video Kripp explains the current situation quite well.

Here's a comparison (in my opinion)
    Hearthstone:
-Has more content and game modes ( as for now? )
    -Good servers
    -Less single player game modes
-Hard for F2P (Free to play) players to catch up with P2P (Pay to Play) players as Hearthstone has not much missions to do and giveaways
-Can return to a battle even though you crashed (Theres a time limit)
-More leaders to choose from (9)
-Each leader has a unique ability
    Shadowverse:
    -Such great anime arts
    -Beautiful arenas
-Gives more opportunity for f2p players as they have tons of quest and rewards to be given. (Had a 40 Pack Ticket giveaway for new players on December 2016 to help them start of)
-Smooth on android and pc, but keeps crashing on iOS
-Cant return to a battle once youve crashed or exited the game and closed the background (CyGames are currently working to include this feature)
    -Lots of single player modes
-Can choose from 7 crafts (in other words, leaders)(not as good as HS)
-Each leader has a different play style and also has unique abilities such as Overflow, Spellboost and Vengeance. While some dont have these abilities, they tend to have special buttons that will appear such as Runecraft's Countdown Button, Swordcraft's Trait and Forestcraft's number of cards played.
-Can buy other leaders for new emotes, their sleeves and emblem
    Conclusion: Shadowverse wins imo :3
Note that i dont play HS much, but i do know some stuff in the game. And from the experience of some of my friends.

The main problem of Hearthstone is really balancing problem. When the whole ladder is overwhelmed by one deck either you play to win with a single boring deck or you can never climb. There is no more fun for a player who started from naxx like me

  • @rozgriz5550123
    @rozgriz5550123 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pros:
1.noobie friendly : I have been in HS since open beta bought 40 packs at start then ,Nax ,BRM,LoE ,and I can tell you in Shadowverse the dust and legendary are much more easier to come by .
2.Arena(2pick) consumes less time : always 5 battle at max ,no need to sweat your palm cuz you spent 2 hours are now 11-2 final stage .
3.No legendary restriction :In HS only one copy of that legend can be put in deck ,it may looks friendly to player at first(make decks cheaper) ,but the truth is since there is only "1" copy unless that card can just win games by itself the other legendary are basically junk. Where in Shadowverse you can built a strategy center around legendary much more reliable (1/20 vs 3/40).
4.Monthly Review :Cygames do care about community feedback ,we know damn right how long it took Blizzard to finally realize Dr.Boom is broken and they didn't even bother to nerf it .
5.Even fun decks is viable :In Master ranks even decks like discard dragon ,prince of darkness, Hamsa OTK have a least 30-40% win rates ,just try fun decks above R5 in HS and expect not to get beat the Sh*t out .
    Cons:
    1.only 7 classes
2.faster pace :if you are into the kind of drawn battle between control warriors vs freeze mage/totem shaman ,that's not gonna happen in SV most battle ends before 9 mana even control decks here are designed to finish off at around 11-12 turn .
3.Animated Legends are luxury :if you thought golden cards in HS are expensive ,think again .
4.No eternal Arena run ;In HS you can get all of your gold back if you go out above 7 wins ,in SV unless you got a 5 win run you cant get that 150 back (only around 130 or so for 4 wins ,around 200 gold for 5 wins).
And now I choose to stay in SV .
Like really ,Frozen Thrones ? remember the days people were hyped about potential new classes like death knight and monks ?
HS only gave me 3 packs (15 cards ) for anniversary ,so yep totally not going back .

Picked up Shadowverse this week on Steam. Never played Hearthstone, as I think Blizzard's milking the Warcraft IP for all it's worth at this point, but one difference I also noticed between SV and HS is the area size. IDK what the limit is in HS, but I like the five-card limit for SV, as it forces you to think more strategically. Already used up some of my card pack tickets and my latest draw gave me a Gold-tier and few Swordcraft cards I might use to tweak my deck with.
Shadowverse has drawn me in partially by the story and the easy-to-learn mechanics. Haven't played a card game since I went on hiatus from Android: Netrunner and Magic a couple years ago.

the RNG is what keeps hearthstone alive actually. the main problem, imo, with hearthstone is the mana crystal mechanic - along with a nack for casual love by blizzard of course, money instead of art.
since every player is guaranteed to have a certain amount of mana each turn and eventually reach 7-8-9-10 mana at some point, everyone is guaranteed to play big minions without investing into something first, which in turn means there has to be alot of removal, which in turn means big minions, who are nothing but big are also nothing but a pile of horsecrap.
this guaranteed mana mechanic along with alot of easy combos and a natural power curve makes the game very predictable.
most of the time you know exactly what your enemy is on about and sometimes you have the right answers to it, sometimes you don´t.
random card draw is of course an important part of a card game and not a problem at all imo, if it wasnt random, everyone would try to force their combos and be done with it.
that randomness is quite alright and with hearthstone it is very much mandatory, as are other random factors.
I really noticed that hearthstone becomes boring very quickly, when you play your standart deck and when you try something new, it becomes frustrating, because you get fucked by simple standart decks and despite knowing exactly whats going on, you cant do anything about it.
imo the new quests that came with un´goro are the worst kind of idiocity right now: they represent the pinnackle of casual gameplay in hearthstone. play the quest and the card actually tells you exactly what to do, like "play 7 taunt minions to receive your win condition" and thats what you do ...
now its not like you´ll always win with this and many noobs going for solving the quest asap disregarding everything else end up losing badly, but quite often it actually works and the point is, its just stupid and has got nothing to do with strategy.
and some of them are kind of op of course, like rouge lol, completing quest on turn 4 and gg game over, its all a matter of lucky draw.
thats the real issue there, sometimes you draw the right cards and whenever I do, I know that I´ve won.
I´m so glad I never paid any real money on this game, but at the same time thats of course another big problem: pay to win.
so yeah, Hearthstone is kinda fun at times and has got potential, but its mostly wasted on wanting to make money and I´m looking forward to trying out shadowverse now.

A lot of Hearthstone's problems seem like a deliberate money making attempt to me. Sure they can nerf the OP cards AFTER they get everyone to buy the cards to compete. And the RNG crap. Then they introduced standard to stop people from being able to compete with old cards, and have to get new cards. And now I've heard they are planning to take some classic cards out of standard? That was the final straw for me; I'm switching to Shadowverse.

I spent $20 on hearth stone and only got the story naxramus. Which came with underpowered legendary cards. I played hearthstone for a year and a half and I didn't get a single legendary. Also I would lose 5 times to get one win. Shadowverse is amazingly fun, I got all these packs and even though I didn't want the legendary cards given, I can dust, or burn all the cards to build a fun competitive deck. Lol then with $20 I spent on shadowverse I made a 55k vital dragon ramp. Who knows how long that would take in hearth stone.
