Yes, This is how the legend of Johnny Appleseed began.
    But...
He was interested in cider apples back then and so the pollination of the mother tree was not critical.
I have done the same and have not yet had fruit form.
This year I have a 10x 20 tray with 100's of seedlings ready to up pot.
I look at it this way...
Keep planting and IF they do not yiels good fruit, they can be left alone as an ornamental or left grow for the wood, or grafted or cut down and replace with another.

I live 15 mins away from Monrovia Nurseries in Oregon. Great to see them represented. Definitely going to get my granddaughter growing her own apple trees from seed. Thank you 🙏

I’ve been looking for this! I have all these seeds saved from the apples I buy that I want to do something with!

Just remember to stratify them in the refrigerator for about 30 days before you start them..... Other than that it is a lot of fun and really a neat grow.

@@murdocksmadnesspatriotgard5472 yes I watched both your Apple videos. Got the seeds in the fridge already 💪 I am excited to see what happens. Also using your double cup method for other plants too. Pretty genius. Thanks for your help!

Someone told me that you don’t get true apple trees growing from seed. I had 10 growing but they said it was a waste of time. I’m going to try it again.

It depends on the variety you start with. If it is a true breeding variety then yes you will get it. I have seen a lot of people put up discouraging comments. No matter what the Apple comes out like, it's still an adventure worth going on........and in a few years how sweet that fruit to prove them wrong.
I'm finding more and more the only reason they keep telling us we can't is because they don't want us to. That sounds like a challenge to me.

Is my apple plant dead? It lost all its leaves?

You should graft one of them trees. That would be cool to se how much sooner then the seed ones it produces.

It may produce sooner but a grafted trees lifespan and disease resistance is cut in half.
Sometimes the wait is worth it.
