I am 2 months postpartum and have been dealing with the same pelvic floor issues!! I missed watching your videos so much so finally catching up and it’s been so relaxing and life giving 💛
As a postpartum nurse and someone who goes to pelvic floor therapy - I couldn’t recommend it enough!! It’s such an important thing to strengthen and rehabilitate especially if you plan on having more babies in the future:)
As a Pilates teacher and a mom I could not recommend strengthening and rehabilitating your pelvic floor more. It is absolutely essential and REALLY simple to do! You could do therapy or reformer Pilates also really helps with pelvic floor and core strength. Also feeling sad when your husband can comfort your baby more than you is SOOOOO REAL.
Blacking out windows allows baby to sleep so much better and specifically when turning into a toddler. We have the blackout curtains but we also used adhesive directly on the window to fully cover it. It made a huge difference during naps and makes him sleep in in the morning.
I haven’t had a kid yet but I’ve done pelvic floor because I was having lots of pain and it was a part in my journey to being diagnosed with endometriosis. I LOVED every second of pelvic floor therapy and my PT. I felt so supported and cared for. Highly recommend!! Also I have mid cycle cramps too - again, I have endo and PCOS. It does feel similar to period cramps. I’m sorry you’re experiencing that!
I have a 5mo daughter, and I’m also working through some postpartum hair loss and self-image issues. I got my hair cut a couple weeks ago for the first time since October, and I did a couple new things for me like face-framing and thinning it out, and I felt like a new person walking away from that appointment! What a blessing such a simple thing can be to a new mother :)
Hi Michelle! Yet another wonderful vlog! Seeing Cash and Connor make me so happy! We have a golden retriever puppy of 3.5 months old, and I hope to become a mother in the upcoming years. And seeing a golden with children is the cutest! Have a great day and week 🥰
I had the same experience with acne when I had ly daughter! Pregnant with baby 2 now and I rarely get any breakouts anymore it’s pretty miraculous considering how much I struggled prebaby!
Pelvic floor therapy for the one! Finding both and knowledgeable but also an OT that you’re comfortable with is huge. I went through a more intensive program, but for even a series of sessions where they can help you strengthen and have control over muscles we aren’t used to thinking about, is life-changing!!! And it certainly couldn’t hurt ♥️
I am currently 35 weeks pregnant and started going to pelvic floor therapy since 20 weeks as a preventative. I definitely recommend it! I wish it was recommended by every OB when you go in for your 20 week appointment. It is so useful for understanding your pelvic floor muscles, how to use them properly, how to engage and disengage and prevent any abdominal separation! They can help with chronic pain/discomfort and so much more
Does your insurance cover this? I have asked my OB about this multiple times and she just keeps telling me it’s not beneficial until after the baby is born :(
I’ve been doing pelvic floor physiotherapy for quite a few years now. I would highly recommend it. I would say look around your area at who’s out there and who you feel connected to. It’s also okay if the first person you try doesn’t work/feel right. It took me 3 pelvic physiotherapists to find one I felt was helpful with my needs. Don’t feel discouraged if the first time isn’t right, you may find your match the first try although it can be like therapy and take a few and that’s totally okay!
Pelvic floor therapy changed my life. Never had a baby but struggled with bladder issues/frequent urination and IC symptoms and that along with supplements pretty much cured me. One of the darkest times in my life turned into a healing journey!
I am currently doing pelvic floor therapy at a local physical therapy clinic. At my last Gynecologist appointment, my doctor recommended that I do it. It has been very helpful. My PT has given me several exercises that are easy to do and help to stengethn the pelvic floor. I am going once a week for a month. In Kentucky you have to have a referral for physical therapy. If your state requires one, your Obgyn could do that. Love your videos! Connor is precious!
I also switched to skirted swimsuits after I started having kids. I like feeling comfortable (I'm basically wearing a mini dress), so I can focus on being with my kids rather than on how self-conscious I feel from being so exposed in other swimsuits.
pelvic floor PT here & would 100% recommend pelvic floor PT!! I am a firm believer every new mom should see a PT after their 6 week OB appointment, even if just for one visit to be assessed and learn healthy habits. just because pelvic floor symptoms are common postpartum doesn’t mean it’s normal or should be happening. there are some PT’s who take insurance and some cash based/private practice, your OB should be able to give you a list. also, urinary frequency can sometimes be due to pelvic floor tension so I always suggest being assessed by a PT before starting on excess strengthening as this could make it worse. hope this helps! 💓love your videos!
Pelvic floor therapy was 1000% worth it for me. Got a referral from my OBGYN. I had similar issues. I also find The Flower Empowered on TH-cam helpful. Heads up my therapist told me that citrus, artificial sugars and caffeine are all bladder irritants and can make those issues worse. I cut them out and noticed a huge improvement.
I didn’t do pelvic floor therapy but reformer Pilates was life changing for postpartum! I felt so strong and like I had core strength again. I had to stop it once I got pregnant again - it was too much but I would loooove to do it again postpartum this time
my blackout curtain are from bed bath and beyond and theyre this really nice, thick textured linen type fabric. the curtains labeled "black out" at BB&B ive found to always be actual black out. good quality
Yes do the pelvic floor therapist! I went to one for heaviness postpartum and it helped so much! Pick one that has good positive reviews, I found such a sweet local woman local to me and it was so worth it.
Newer follower and this is my personal experience but I wish I went and talked to a pelvic floor specialist after my first child. I felt something was slightly off and just let myself not make it a big deal. Fast forward to having my son I ended up with prolapse because I didn’t strengthen my pelvic floor after my first. You know your body so if it feels off to you it’s worth it to at least know why cause you don’t want to have to be dealing with more problems later. Now I’m on my 3rd baby and have been working with a specialist since I got pregnant and it’s been so helpful! You gotta take care of you momma so you can be the best for your baby!!
I’ve been to pelvic floor therapy for ovarian cysts/bladder issues and it worked for the bladder issues I was having but not the ovarian cysts… now I take birth control for my ovarian cysts.. but yes I would talk to your OBGYN. I would definitely recommend it!! I love your videos! I was so excited to see that you posted today!❤️ sending love to you and your family!😊 I hope you have a good rest of your week!!☀️🌸🌺🌼
I have not had a baby, but I can feel when I ovulate! It feels like cramps for me, so it could be that your cycle is regulating more and you are feeling more symptoms 🤷♀️
I did PFPT during pregnancy and postpartum highly recommend!! During pregnancy no internal work is done, but post partum they can. Always good to have a strong core and pelvic floor
I havent had my first child uet but meeded pelvic pt due to having hypermobile EDS and i am such a believer in it now! I learned so much about my body. Your abs and pelvic floor hokd the rest of your body together so if you prioritize strengthing this part of your body it will hold your alignment and reduce any pain or inflamatu9n you may have. Its the absolute bestt!
I would highly recommend seeing a pelvic floor physio. :) Frequency is not due to a weak pelvic floor. You’ll likely be asked to fill out a bladder diary and look at any bladder irritants you may be ingesting as well as general quantity of liquid and work on bladder retraining, minimizing triggers, etc. In terms of the heaviness being felt I would recommend an internal exam to know if you have high/ low tone, strength, coordination, any descent of tissue, etc.
Your hair looks so great! You are the cutest either way but I know how much I look forward to my hair appointments! They really do give you a mood boost! Another great video Michelle!😀
I work at an OBGYN office and most of our health care providers refer patients out to pelvic floor therapy. If you let your OB know your concerns they can refer you to somewhere that will accept your insurance :)
I can't speak to postpartum but I also always struggled with acne (that coincided with my cycle very predictably) and it has VANISHED since getting pregnant! Hoping that stays the case after baby is here
PT here- love to hear you talk about pelvic floor PT! Honestly all women should have a check in with a PT at 6 weeks in my opinion. It can really improve your quality of life :)
Yes to pelvic floor therapy!! It's super helpful. I would ask for recommendations like maybe even asking your chiropractor!! Also you mentioned wanting to do more Pilates workouts and I'm loving the app barre definition she has an awesome postpartum plan that I just did. She has lots of helpful pelvic floor health things on there too!
Hi Michelle I enjoyed your video! I think your baby is cute, and looks like you. I also like your haircut! I need to get my hair layered, and trimmed. Hope your staying healthy! Take Care, Kim😉
I’m 8 months PP and started going to pelvic PT 2 months ago. It has been life changing!! I had similar issues - needing to pee more frequently, core issues, and then my granulation tissue becoming scar tissue from my perineal tear 😫 can’t rec it enough tho!
My go to banana pancake recipe for baby: “1 banana, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of rolled oats, 1/4 tsp of baking soda, 1/4 tsp of cinnamon. Blend it into a batter and you’re good to go!” A huge hit with my little guy
So funnily enough, I actually started pelvic floor therapy last month. I happened to see an add for a local place that had a deal going on and booked with her, although she doesn't take my insurance, unfortunately. I'm mostly going to help with pain in my lower back specifically but also just help out in general. I'm feeling sore from yesterday's appointment ahaha.
There is so much light from the Lord Jesus in the videos you make Michelle. This makes us want to do things with dedication and care. you are an inspiration. God bless you and your family❤😊
As a physiotherapist and a mom, I could not recommand you pelvic floor therapy enough. In France (where I come from), pelvic floor rehab is prescribe for every woman after birth ! Could you by any chance do a video on how you film ? I would love to have memories of my daughter but I have no clue how to do cute videos. Your advices would help a lot of people I think.
I love this videoo!!. Hope you have an amazing day ! , don't overwork yourself , please have a good amount of sleep to you , your friends and family too Michelle ! :)) 😄.
So I haven’t had a child yet but my friend who struggled with cystic acne also had a super clear face after her birth! She said her hormones straightened out more afterwords 🤷🏻♀️
Hey Michelle, I had my first baby last Oct and I went to pelvic floor therapy and it was helpful for me. I think it's worth at least getting an examine and trying it out. As far how to make an appointment by Gynecologist recommended me to someone. I'm sure you could also look up one with your insurance as well. I hope that helps!
Currently in pelvic floor therapy to help my c section scar and pelvic floor tightness and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done! I just got a list from my OB/GYN and she referred me to the one I picked and then I was set up with an appt. (Verified they took my insurance). Hope it helps!
I have been having horrible ovulation cramps postpartum too and I used to never get them! I’ve been wondering what that is about because for two days it feels like my period- so strange!
i totally agree with you about the swimsuit thing because I felt silly wearing my more modest swimsuit around other people…BUT I have never gotten more compliments! I think people see it as a good thing, and wonder why we are set apart!
I’m pregnant with baby 3 and I swear I can’t sneeze without peeing 😂 I feel your pain. Can’t wait to do pelvic floor PT. And yeah I started getting mid cycle cramping also, interesting!
I’m in Australia so it may be different But after both my babies. Seeing a women’s phsyio is something I did and they are who gave me the all clear for exercise etc. but they give you pelvic floor exercises and things to help :) xx
yes! feel free to send me a DM on Instagram if you ship it so I can lookout for it ❤ sometimes they ship things back if I don’t pickup in time 😅 but that is beyond sweet of you!
Another day another vlog.. another iced coffee while I binge your vlogs..My sister brought me an iced blondee coffee!!!!! It is by far delicious it’s a new drive through coffee shop and Starbucks has nothing on it.. It is by far the best iced coffee other than my favorite iced caramel macchiato with caramel drizzle and the salted caramel cold foam.. ohh by the way.. One of my friends showed me she got one of those Fanny pack things you put on your side to let your baby sit and she said it’s such a game changer.. I was at a Whole Foods store called Aldi’s and there was a woman who walked in who had her baby on her side sitting on it
Ahh Michelle!! I love this so much and you are such an inspiration to me. I love all your videos and you are the best mom to you sweet boy. I am so proud of how far you’ve come and that you show up for us every week. Thank you for being so vulnerable and authentic for us every week and sharing your day to day life. Ilysm and I hope you’re having an amazing day 💕
I did pelvic floor threapy every week for 3 months because I was unable to have intercourse bc my pelvic floor was so weak and tight, and I had to pee like 8 times an hour. I always felt like my bladder was full and when I would pee, I would have to urge again within 5 minutes. I felt like I wasnt emptying my bladder. Anyways I did the threapy and it helped a ton to where now I can have intercourse and don't pee as much. I definitely recommend. Also my diet was causing a lot of problems too. I was eating a lot of sugar and dairy and gluten (which later i found out that i was intolerant), and that was causing a lot of tightness down below too because it was a reaction from the food i was eating. It was causing a lot of pain in my stomach and intestinal area and was always bloated. Once i stopped eating those foods for a few months, just like my PT clasess it helped so much
I just watched another mom share all the things she did to set up a blackout curtain situation that works. I'm sure you have solved it by now, but here is the video link in case. th-cam.com/video/aQ8JuYiNjnY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=I69vqEINQmPhCa3D LOVE your channel by the way. It's the only channel that I've been consistently watching these days. I'm going through IVF, and it's intense and hard, and watching your channel actually gives me some space to have hope right now and to look forward to being a mom. I'm going to be a much older mom than you, but still, I seem to really relate to the way you talk about being a mom. Infertility has been one of the hardest times of my life, so thank you for being my light right now. 💛
Who else agrees that Michelle is one of the best TH-camrs ever?
Maria, thank you so much 🥺
Me❤!
🙋🏼♀️
Me!💖
Omg yesss❤

LOVE the swimsuit. You’re right! Eeevvverything is out these days. Modesty is so much more comfortable 🤍

Obsessed with your hair!!!
My skin has also cleared up after having a baby!! We had our babies at the same time so it’s always so fun to witness similarities in our life 🤭❤️
Your hair is gorgeous!!! The new cut and color looks great!
Wow I was just looking at curtains this morning with my husband! It's such a challenge.
I love your style, the floral peasant top and bucket hat look great on you!

Very much in favour of toy rotation! Look into the Montessori way of raising children, I think you would love it!
really love the Montessori principles! 🌸
I did PFPT during pregnancy and postpartum highly recommend!! During pregnancy no internal work is done, but post partum they can. Always good to have a strong core and pelvic floor

Also love Volterra! They colored my hair before my wedding and I was so happy with it! Tempted to book another appointment now that it’s been a year..

Just fyi ovulation cramps are very normal! Experienced by some but not all women. Another great way to track your cycles.
I have black out curtains from Walmart 😊
I love the black out curtains from pottery barn we have them in our boys room 💙
I’m 8 months PP and started going to pelvic PT 2 months ago. It has been life changing!! I had similar issues - needing to pee more frequently, core issues, and then my granulation tissue becoming scar tissue from my perineal tear 😫 can’t rec it enough tho!
Decided to try LMNT and used your code to support you! I’m excited to try it! I love your channel!
you’re the sweetest, thank you 🥹
Silly comment, but I loved the music at the end of your video!
LOVE the hair I’ve been craving a lift for mine too so I’m inspired!
My go to banana pancake recipe for baby: “1 banana, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of rolled oats, 1/4 tsp of baking soda, 1/4 tsp of cinnamon. Blend it into a batter and you’re good to go!” A huge hit with my little guy
Would you be willing to do a little room tour of Connors room? It looks so cute 🥺 I’m trying to get more ideas for my daughter’s room.
Love the new hair! What did you ask your hair stylist to do to your hair for this look?
where is your blue shirt at the beginning from? so cute!!
So funnily enough, I actually started pelvic floor therapy last month. I'm mostly going to help with pain in my lower back specifically but also just help out in general. I'm feeling sore from yesterday's appointment ahaha.
you hair looks so good!
Michelle it sounds like the symptoms I had when I had cysts on my ovaries. A quick sono would rule that out.
This hat on you, is so cute!
I have been using elitone for pelvic floor stuff.
There is so much light from the Lord Jesus in the videos you make Michelle. This makes us want to do things with dedication and care. you are an inspiration. God bless you and your family❤😊
Just on time about to drink my coffee ❤
Your hair looks amazing! ❤
I looove your vlogs! I look forward to them!
As a physiotherapist and a mom, I could not recommand you pelvic floor therapy enough. In France (where I come from), pelvic floor rehab is prescribe for every woman after birth ! Find a PT that you are confortable with and they will start with an assessment to see what needs to be done.

Connor is getting so big! :)
Thanks for sharing again, your honest chats are so helpful!
She said her hormones straightened out more afterwords 🤷🏻♀️
so interesting… maybe it’s just getting older too 😮
Hi! Where did you get your green sweater that you wore to your hair appointment? :)
Hey Michelle,
I had my first baby last Oct and I went to pelvic floor therapy and it was helpful for me.
Where did you get your hat??
Love the hair 💕✨
thank you ☺️✨
I LOVE your hair! What did you get exactly?
I really love your more natural makeup look throughout this video! especially the eye makeup!
Where do you get your brown overrall type outfit from?
Hi 😊 I heard that red lights help out baby sleep I put that for my baby
Ufff I get so sad too when hubs can soothe baby and I can’t. Such a mom thing! Hubs usually don’t get it
I have been having horrible ovulation cramps postpartum too and I used to never get them! I’ve been wondering what that is about because for two days it feels like my period- so strange!
exactly! so weird, I wonder why they’re more apparent after having a baby?
i totally agree with you about the swimsuit thing because I felt silly wearing my more modest swimsuit around other people…BUT I have never gotten more compliments! I think people see it as a good thing, and wonder why we are set apart!
I’m pregnant with baby 3 and I swear I can’t sneeze without peeing 😂 I feel your pain. Can’t wait to do pelvic floor PT. And yeah I started getting mid cycle cramping also, interesting!
the struggle 😅😅😅
I’m in Australia so it may be different
But after both my babies. Seeing a women’s phsyio is something I did and they are who gave me the all clear for exercise etc.
but they give you pelvic floor exercises and things to help :) xx
I wish it was this way in the U.S.! Totally seems necessary ❤️
@@michellereedg I hope you can find someone who can help 🤎
Where did you get your rocking chair in the nursery? I’m in the market for a comfy nursing chair!
it’s from Oilo studio! definitely a pricier piece, but I spend many hours in it ☺️☁️
Michelle your so sweet and make TH-cam a special place❤🦋✨️!
Thank you, Harry! ❤️
where do you get your photos printed?

Love your videos Michelle! I’m a crocheter and would love to make something for Connor - is your PO Box still active?

I was at a Whole Foods store called Aldi’s and there was a woman who walked in who had her baby on her side sitting on it

@@michellereedg I am doing really good thank you!
Once i stopped eating those foods for a few months, just like my PT clasess it helped so much
My husband is so much better putting our daughter down for bed too!!
Im on accutane right now but scared on a future pregnancy... did it afect you?
hm, not personally! I do know it has quite a few side effects, though
I just watched another mom share all the things she did to set up a blackout curtain situation that works. I'm sure you have solved it by now, but here is the video link in case. th-cam.com/video/aQ8JuYiNjnY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=I69vqEINQmPhCa3D
LOVE your channel by the way.
