Suggestion for growing your ornament collection: for years my friends and family have gotten ornaments as gifts for each other and ourselves when we travel. It's a really fun way to have awesome memories tied to each ornament, and to gather a really cool collection from around the world. Most of the time they're classy. Sometimes they're tacky. As long as you can hang it on a tree, it works :) Merry Christmas!
My husband and I love watching both yours and Julia/Hunter's channels. We so wish there was a similar channel for empty nesters like ourselves. We are thinking about starting one. 50+ need this type of channel. I know that Goodwill makes people pay for goods but also know they employ special needs and people in need. They pay for retraining and help them find life sustaining jobs. I never knew this until I became the principal of a career training center. We are working closely with Goodwill for training adults. It for sure is more than a retail store.
By all means take care of yourselves and I hope you both don’t feel an ounce of guilt for deciding to skip out on vlogmas!! Totally understandable, your health is the most important thing always! Hugs to you both ❤️

I used to work at crate and barrel and I loveee their wine glasses 😍 good choice ❤️ my favorite is the Hip wine glass. It’s like over the top huge but like a vibe ✨

Goodwill has a store, yes, but their charity involves employing people in need to work there, and they also have shelters and other outreach programs. It IS wiser to donate items to places like you mention but I just wanted to mention the Goodwill donation centers and stores are to raise money for the charity they do.

Getting a real tree isn’t actually more environmentally friendly! Because the tree is chopped down releasing co2 back into the atmosphere, whereas most families only buy one false tree and use that every single year … though, I know there are companies who leave the tree planted in a pot for people to have in their homes so that they can be replanted again and not chopped down, to make it more friendly to the planet 🥰
It actually depends on what you’re comparing to. Fake plastic trees have a bigger environmental impact than real trees. Also most Christmas tree companies plant 2+ trees for everyone cut down. The most environmentally friendly option is doing DIY trees or live trees, like you suggested ☺️
I am pretty sure fake trees are way more sustainable. Even though the materials they use for them aren't that great families typically use them for 20 years which is was better than buying real trees that are literally grown and chopped and thrown away every year.... But just wanted to put that out there it's what I learned in environmental class in college lol...but everything is about marketing...and even environmental companies market things that are not even that environmentally friendly and our entire generation is getting green-washed by brands so honestly who even TRULY knows what is environmentally friendly and what isnt...
