Who cares if the video is a lot like the Bright Eyes video? Kevin's music is awesome, and he turned the concept into his own style. He is a true artist and I am proud to be part of such an awesome indie culture.

The direction and model for this video is exactly very similar to Bright Eye's video for "This is the First Day of My Life." I can seriously tell, the only difference is it's got a green background instead of a red background instead. Very good.

I instantly thought the same thing and I'm surprised more people haven't mentioned it! It definitely doesn't change the fact that he's a brilliant musician though (and so is Mike Kinsella)
Love Kevin Devine, love Connor Oberst. Although the video's are very similar, I personally think they have different meanings. 'First day of my life' is more of a celebration of love and being in love and this video seems more of a 'nothing is how it seems' video. Just my opinion :)

I wanted to check out who this guy was because I'm going to Bamboozle in a few days and I saw his name on the set list. Glad I did! ok, so the whole couch thing is similar, but nothing else. "first day of my life" is a sappy love song about getting back together, "i could be with anyone" is the antithesis!
