I play the game like this: When you play an eight, you can choose the suit to whatever you want. And you can play it WHENEVER you want! When you play a queen of spades, the other person has to pick up 5 cards. You can do pairings! We have a game like this in The Netherlands. It's called 'pesten' (bullying). But usually we work with 7 cards and there's more rules to the game. And we don't count the cards that are left, we just play untill someone has played all of their cards.

When we were feeling a bit ‘crazy’ we would add the 2s and jokers from another deck 😂😂.Now that was Crazy 8s!
My friend and I use Jokers as +4 cards (they don't skip the victim's turn, nor do they stack) and then Aces as blocks for the Jokers (they just stop the +4 effect and uses your turn). I feel it adds a little more risk to the game and forces you to skip more often!
We like to play it with Ace counts as 20 in the end. And you have to pick up cards until you can play, no matter how many you need to draw. I once had to pick up 12 haha.
You can combine the rules of Crazy Eights and UNO in the standard deck. (4 suits, 13 ranks with jokers). Suits (spades, clubs, heart, diamond) Aces = Number 1 Numbers 2-10 (except 8s) = Face Value Jacks = Reverse Queens = Skip Kings = +2 Number 8s = Wild Jokers = Wild +4
I used to play a variation that is more similar to Uno. We played with a Spanish deck, and 2s were draw twos, 7 changed direction, jacks were wild (like the eights in here) and knights skipped. We also said "Last Card" similar to Uno. At the end of the round, 2s were worth 40 points, jacks 20, and the rest their face value (since this was a Spanish deck, face cards also have numbers written on them). It was a looooong game, because we played many consecutive rounds. We started with 8 cards per player, then 7, then 6, all the way to just 1 and then all the way to 8 again, so 15 rounds in total.
Yeah, I like to add additional rules as well to some of the values. The ones we play are: Aces- You and next player in sequence trade one card. Twos- Force Next player to draw 2 cards Threes- Everyone in game passes three cards to next player in sequence. (Better for larger groups and can result in players going backwards) Fours- Tuck a card underneath as you play this card (it can be offsuit to the four being played) Jacks- Skip next player in order Queens- Dump as many of matching suit as you wish underneath the queen King- Reverse What house rules do you have?
lol, for fun me and my brother would play another way (and I'm sure its not an obscure rule) but after we finished the game we would continue on with a next round, in this case if you finished round 8, you move onto 7, then 6, then 5, and on until you reach ace. this game is actually longer this way but we had fun playing like this. it was like a race to the ace round
Wait u said @1:20 that, "When u play an 8, pick a Suit..." . . Like for example I got 8's, I have to say "Diamond or Heart", and then the other person must proceed using a DIAMOND or HEART only?.. That's basically it right?.. I don't have to throw away a Suit & then the other guys proceed after me. Is that reasonable enough, can someone clarify.
you must state a single suit, spades, hearts, diamonds or clubs, and the next player in sequence must play a card of that suit, no matter the suit of the 8
The rules we played were 7 is skip, J is reverse, 2 is pick 2, joker is pick 5, ace is black, king is play again and 8 change of suite. Very similar to uno
When you play an 8 which is considered a wild card do the same person that played that 8 card play again choosing the new suit/card or does another player play the desired card that the person who placed the 8 card chooses? I hope my question is clear.

The variant I'm most familiar with is like this: At the start of the game, the players are all dealt 8 cards. The main goal is to get rid of all your cards. I forget how scoring works, though... Jacks made you skip the turn of the next player. The Queen Of Spades made you draw 5 cards. You also lose your turn after drawing.

I need your help bro. My relationship is in turmoil PLEASE READ MAN. So my girl and I were playing crazy eights. I won a game by dropping 2 8's. They are the same card. She says she called last card but thats a different argument. So for this lets just say she did. My hands were off the cards, the win was mine and they were a pair of 8's. She has a round where she plays a jack with a 10 as her last cards. She played them together, but they were two different cards. I called last card before her hands even left the two cards, cause she was trying to skip the seperate plays. My argument is she needs to pick up 2 and I dont. Can you help me find some peace? Thanks
the way we play is you can put down both 8s in one move, not separately and the other players cannot fault you for not doing it separately nor saying last card. you won that game. she can win by placing a jack and 10 (same suit) AT the same time (not separately) and she does not need to say last card etc bc shes putting down 2 cards as her last move. you both win!! the ONLY time we say last card is when we end up holding ONE card, and when i split my last two cards, my card im about to put down, i say last card BEFORE i place it down.
Yeah the deck contains 4 suits with 13 cards each which means 52 cards without Joker's because in some games there are two Joker's: one red and one black
If you don't have a card to play & you draw until you get a card or until you've drawn 5 cards-then what? If you draw up to 5 cards and still don't have a play, do you just move on to the next player?
I play the game where it goes like this: Each player starts with 8 cards. 8’s are wild cards and it can be played at anytime and the player who played it picks a suit for the next player to play. 3’s skip the next player. 5’s skip the next player. 2’s make the next player draw 2 cards and skip their turn unless they have another 2 card. A player draws the number of cards players played in a row. For example, let’s say I played a 2, and the next player plays another 2. The next player after him doesn’t have a 2, so he has to draw 4 cards. 2 cards for each 2 played. Then his turn skips. Ace of Spades makes the next person draw 5 cards and skip their turn. They must draw no matter what. If a player has 1 card in their hand, they must say “Crazy Eights!”. If not, they draw 2 cards as a penalty if caught. Whoever gets rid of their hand first wins!
@@TheRojo387 my version is that 10s are seen as a 8 eight but you make a person of choosing draw 3 cards a joker is like 8 and 10 but can reverse any move of his choosing and can make anybody give him any card whether that be a 10 8 or another joker but you can't use the joker after it's use for 5 turns if you get another it's pretty simple but I found that simple is better Edit: Spade I'd a blocking system once you out one you can skip the turn after so if you use mine go for it if you so choose

Ah, yes. The lore of UNO. Interesting that this was where it started.

So basically it's the ancestor of UNO
I play the game where it goes like this:
Each player starts with 8 cards.
Queen of Spades, not Ace of Spades, makes the next player draw 5 cards. And that variant is called "Very Crazy Eights".
