Rewatching this a couple things occurred to me this episode that I initially missed. The Serpoians are likely still alive and either sent or fed a false narrative to the Flatwoods Monster and the other is that an ALIEN was exorcised by a psychic talisman. No way these plot points are insignificant either, you just know its gonna come up again in the future. Can't wait for episode 3.
For the "Ken Takakura" joke in the beginning... Momo's crush is an old-school Japanese actor called Ken Takakura, and this boy just so happens to have the same name, which freaked her out. You can actually see some of his old posters in her room (the black and white samurai guy). To put it in Western terms, it's like a modern highschool girl having a crush on Clint Eastwood, which is why both her friends were making fun of her and saying "Guys like that don't exist anymore" back in episode one.
