    Great tutorial. I have been using C4D for nearly 20 years now for broadcast and commercial work, mostly for consumer electronics manufacturers. Blender is starting to look very interesting especially with Cycles X/K hot on the heals of Redshift and Octane which are what I’m using now. In dipping into Blender I’m finding that I like it, especially how broad the add in market is. It seems like there is a great add on for just about anything.
    One issue that I’m having and maybe there’s a simple way to do this that I’m overlooking but I can’t seem to find an easy way to do more complex camera moves like I do in C4D. In C4D you can look through the camera and translate, rotate, zoom, dropping a key frame at each new place you move, rotate and zoom to and while still in camera view C4D will be drawing a spline between all of your key framed moves while your looking through the camera. No need to add a constraint to a curve. Blender seems to require what feels like a unnecessarily complex nesting of null or (empty objects) as they are called in blender. In c4d it feels a lot like how you would film in the real world with the ability to record in camera then after the fact smooth out the spine points, add additional or fewer spline point subdivisions in between key frames after it automatically creates the spline path if you want to speed up or slow down the move. There is also various easing in and out options between key frames at any point after the fact.
    I’m not sure if Blender has anything similar and I’m hoping it does or perhaps a way that’s even better. Thank you for the great tutorial!

      Hi Jordan, thanks for stopping by our channel. It seems you have a rich experience in using animation software. I'm glad to know that you have grown some interest in Blender. Since this is an open-source software built by the community, it is really rich on add-on side, and even the built-in features are evolving at a fast pace. Coming to your requirement, the good news is - Blender does have most of the functionalities that you talked about. There is Walk & Fly Navigation Mode where you can record the camera movements as you see through the camera and move. The auto-key feature can keep a track of necessary keyframes as you move. The graph editors gives you more than enough options to control the smoothness of the path. These things may not be exactly same or similar to another software. That is one common complaint we see from people coming with prior experience in other animation softwares. And I personally believe Blender has a steep learning curve. But it gives many great features for absolutely zero cost. We are trying to create tutorials on every aspect. There are several camera movement tutorials that we have made. This Walk & Fly Camera Record is yet to be covered, we do have a plan to include that as well. But we thought of first covering the basic camera movements. You can check our playlist on camera movement & camera controls (th-cam.com/play/PLtV6EPHDRNQLDGPjwstDe5Z3D2plVeJmZ.html) for these tutorials. We'll soon add the Walk/Fly tutorial as well into this. Cheers!

      Please select the curve, go to the Curve data tab and expand the section called Path Animation. In the field called Frames you'll see a number (like 100). This is the maximum value you can use for the Offset field in a Follow Path constraint. If you use a higher value unknowingly or by accident, the camera will go beyond the end of the curve. Please check if this is your case.

    Hey man thanks for great tutorial ,my camera shakes a bit , do u know how i can get rid of that

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There are several possible reason why the camera shakes. 1) Most obvious reason is, your curve (along which the camera goes) is not smooth enough. You can select the curve, go to the Edit mode and subdivide the curve to make it smoother. But sometimes the curve itself is designed poorly which cannot be smoothed out with subdivisions alone, you need to redesign the curve so that all the corners are smooth. 2) If your camera is tracking any target object while moving on a curve, and the target object makes jittery motions, the camera will also jitter. You need to ensure that the target object moves smoothly without any jitter. 3) Other possible reasons include incorrect setup of your camera like wrong parenting, wrong offset etc. but they usually produce big jumps not small jitters. So if you are experiencing only small jitters in the camera view look at number 1 and 2 listed above to rectify the issues. All the best!

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@preetamsthings4189 Eevee is as such very fast in rendering, compared to Cycles. There was a time when we had only Cycles, and rendering a scene was a matter of days or even a week. With Eevee, the rendering time has decreased significantly, at the cost of some finer quality. It now completes within minutes, or in hours (for longer scenes). Having said that, there are few things that you can do to further increase the rendering speed in Eevee. Maybe we should prepare a tutorial on that because it is too difficult to explain in a comment. But in a nutshell, you can use an appropriate sampling, maybe 32 or even 20, use less number of Subdivisions in the modifier, avoid unnecessarily high details in textures like Noise texture or Bump, turn on the Simplify option in the render properties, use a lower scale output for test renders etc. At the beginner level, you can watch this simple tutorial to know the basic render properties that can help you render faster: th-cam.com/video/3ScV-TUBXFM/w-d-xo.html But in due course of time, we will come up with a more detailed tutorial covering few more points.

    I am using a closed looped path, and this dynamic camera movement trick worked, but only for one whole loop in one direction because the fixed position offset limits. I want to loop my camera path twice in the same direction, but if I add another keyframe after the first loop that is offset at less than 1, it just goes backwards. I want a dynamic second loop that is in the same direction as the first, but with different adjustable speed keyframes than the first. How can I achieve this?

      You can go beyond 1 for the second loop. So 0 to 1 for the first loop, then 1 to 2 for the second loop etc. There are other ways as well, but this is simple and quick. Btw, I am traveling, so this late response.

    I tried the same with light instead of camera but unfortunately it doesn't work, even though I did it like in the video!
    Is there a solution how this works?
    And thanks for the helpful tutorials!

      It perfectly works with any light object as well (I just verified it once more before writing this reply). But you don't use any Track To constraint for a light, only a Follow Path constraint is sufficient. Just in case the method does not work for you, can you please send your blend file to us, so that we can quickly check what is missing there? You can get our contact details (Email ID) in the About section of this channel. Thanks!

      If you have multiple camera in a scene, you need to mark them correctly in the timeline editor. Probably you have wrong camera at the wrong timeframe. This tutorial can help you 👉 th-cam.com/video/zzNqn7Y6BCQ/w-d-xo.html

    Nice. But i dont know why my camera shakes in all the vertices with the 3.0 version.

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's strange! There is as such no change in V3.0 that will result in any shake like that. Can you please send your blend file to us so that we can investigate what is causing this issue? You can get our contact details (Email ID) in the About section of this channel. Thanks!

      Please check the direction of your curve. Go to the curve edit mode and switch the direction of the curve from the Segments menu. Your problem will get resolved.

    Is it possible to view another object motion with respect to another object, both are in motion, I tried for two circular motion objects with the same rotational speed but unsuccessful. I tried with follow path, track to constraint but ....... Jeet pls guide this camera movement

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What i understand is, you have two moving objects, and you want to attach your camera to one of them, while the camera is looking at the second object. We have created a very similar tutorial 👉 th-cam.com/video/n2rwiz5gBnk/w-d-xo.html But you need to make one change. Here, both the camera and the target object are moving along the same path. Instead, add two such paths, and in the follow path constraints, select their respective paths. Rest of it will be same as in that tutorial. Of course, the paths should be near to each other, otherwise the camera will lose its sight.
