I’m big on PPO , so much so that I’ve only injured myself just the other year but I did my own first aid as I carry my own trauma kit and I have the emergency medical training for it lol , if ya have a sucking chest wound, I can stabilize ya in quick time .
Anyways , I wonder if he’ll now wear the appropriate gloves when he uses a hedge trimmer and to also require it of his employees.
I once was hired as a crew leader and the company didn’t have a full team for me to operate with so they put me with a crew .
The crew leader had asked about my experience and he realized that I had more experience then he did . He sent me to use the articulating pole hedger and as I had finished my task I observed the crew leader wearing his protective glasses on top of his hat , so I stopped him and recommended that he put em on . Nope , he declined and lo & behold as he was driving near one of the beds that another employee was weed eating a object hit him in the eye .
I ended up having to take him in to the emergency room.
Later at the next day the safety meeting was to address what had happened and he had to tell us that the ER doctor told him that he was very fortunate because if the object had hit him just a fingernails width he would have been blinded .
Ya , accidents can be lessened with the proper preventative measures .

Hey. I really enjoyed your story. Hang in there it gets better once you get through the growing pains. I have been an owner/operator for 13 years now and I can tell you it was rough for me for about 5 years. You are doing great hang in there. By the way I cut my fingers with a hedge trimmer one time also, so I feel your pain when you had to go to the ER. You got this. Keep Grinding.

I would quit bagging the grass use mulching blades this would eliminate hauling and disposal which would give you more time and more physical energy. 36 inch stand on mower would have a spot on your set up because you're not hauling clippings which is a waste explain the benefit to the client. I started with push mowers it was a game changer when I bought a 36" walk behind quicker times and more energy. Good luck

I could live off of this for at least a year and half and be perfectly covered. But God is good and I scored a great job and now have healthy amount of savings in the bank. The difference in stress is massive. But I guess to each their own, just saying never think just because you were a business owner once that you'll never be comfortable working for someone else. Everyone saying they make wayyy more money as a business owner are comparing themselves to the labor, management for the right company will compensate well, benefits vacation and best part is if something breaks it doesn't come out of your account.
