Im watching this today on may 15 2024...i loved seeing the older footage when branson was great to visit...thank u for sharing it...brought back so many memories to me
Thanks for watching and commenting. I was wondering if people would find it had changed a lot. I've uploaded or will upload some more from this area. I digitized over 100 videos to upload and that was quiet the chore and I was hoping it would be worth the time and effort. Your comment consoles my worries. :)
@@mikesbetty Thanks for your kind comment. Look under the My Missouri playlist th-cam.com/play/PL535EA123B11CB523.html; I think I have some more coming at the very end as I'm doing them chronologically.
These videos were recorded by my Grandpa and his second wife, Mary. I just digitized them from VHS. I uploaded over 100 of them. I can always tell when Grandpa records because he is much better at it. Grin. Mary zooms in too close and is shaky.
I had forgotten so many of these places, like Mutton Hollow. And I think some where back behind that there used to be an animal safari and local potato chip factory.
Question - in this video at 18:12 just past Wal-Mart there was a Forestry Station that had a lot of pine trees. I've been looking for footage/photos of it but they are very hard to find and so far have had little luck. In the video it jumps from Wal-Mart to JR's Motel. The Forestry Station was between those two locations. Is there any chance you have video and it was edited out for TH-cam?
One of my videos shows them actually riding the ducks and the whole trip. Branson Duck Boat Ride (sometime in 1990's) th-cam.com/video/kCFNsZ4OhZ4/w-d-xo.html
I have no idea. I am not familiar with these places myself. I’m busy uploading all I digitized. Over 100 videos I think. Got about 12 more to upload. You can look through or search the My Missouri playlist I made. :). I uploaded a duck boat ride. Surprised no one interested in it. I am thankful for the interest in this one. Makes my efforts worthwhile. :)
This video was recorded by my Grandpa and his second wife. They have both passed away now and I inherited the videos so I digitize them and thought other others might enjoy seeing them.

I’m so glad to hear that. Makes my effort to convert from VHS to upload worthwhile.
Thank you for making and sharing this. This special town has changed a lot since 1987. What a neat video.

Wow! It is so different than what it is today. I would love to travel back to that time and experience the "good old days" again. Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you SO much, what a treat! You had a good camera and did such a nice job.

Great memo. Thanks for sharing.
We always stayed at the Silver Slipper! It was the closest to SDC :)
I'm glad that this video brought back good memories for you. I appreciate your comment, and I hope you continue to enjoy my videos.
wow so many changes from then till now
So true!
It's really much the same has now. Just newer attractions. I'm 56 so I remember this era.
I bet it feels odd knowing you have reached "that age" to remember the old era. I know it is for me!
i miss that branson,,, gas prices too
@@stevepmo I loved it when gas prices were $.99.

I'm sorry. This is all I have. They probably started and stopped the video recorder. If I see any photos as I go through them I'll let you know.
17:39 Ride the Ducks doesn’t even exist in Branson now sadly

@@MyCornerOnlineyes! I watched that video it was very fun to see the original ride the ducks tour!
Not since they killed people.
Do you happen to have video of Fun Spot, Waynes restaurant or other Branson videos? Not much footage out there from before the boom of the 90's

Were the outlets open back then?
Don’t know. Guessing probably so. Outlets were a thing everywhere back then.
Red Roof Mall
Is that you in the background. You sound younger in your newer videos.

76 Mall!
@@delano62 Exciting!
@@MyCornerOnline It's just that the place has been there since I was a kid back in the 70"s.
cool gas .79 a gallon
That's an interesting catch. I remember case being .99 cents for a long time, but not .79.
