    Is air drying bad for your hair? Bad is a strong word. Air drying could potentially be more damaging though. Diffusing might be the healthier option for your hair depending on your hair itself. Today I briefly explain why air drying might be healthier for your hair than constantly air drying.

    Agree completely! I have also watched a video by a doctor who said the same thing and it makes sense.

    I feel if I washed my hair more often I would diffuse, but I wash it anywhere from 6-10 days and is only in that weakest state for a few hours every week as I do not refresh very often. I have course 2b hair

    I think having the scalp damp for several hours is probably not a great idea, too. It could lead to potential skin issues. Obviously this is more extreme example, but if you imagine sitting in the bathtub from 1- 1/2 to 5 hours and what it does to your skin. Then if you were to do it a couple of times a week...
    I'm assuming it must be worse for people like me with high porosity hair?
    I recently trimmed my hair to shoulder length (yikes!) to help deal with some layers that were growing out badly. Even that that length it's taking forever to air dry!

    Not sure if you’ve done a video on this before but would be great if you can show the proper way to diffuse? New to this method!

    I can only air dry in the summer sitting directly under the sun bc otherwise sitting with my head wet invariably gives me a headache :/

      @SuhannaDeSilva  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand this, dampness for an extended period of time can definitely be a headache trigger.

    I give props to people who have the time and patience to do their hair. A few times ive tried "styling" it since im new to the wavy hair lifestyle....
    I try just to see what will help me retain my waves since it has only been a few months of discovering my type 2 hair...
    And i think to myself why do i hassale myself with all these tricks when all i do is put it up anyways 🤣
    I live in Hawaii so im not sure if we have stores down here that sell Amla oil
    Could u go more in depth about it since i have seen you say Southern Asians live by that lol
    I saw some people discredit it since it is mineral based.
    And have you ever used indian hemp grease?
    I have one by blue magic and i really like it. I have the worst dandruff especially when the seasons change, i have not got much ever since i started using it once i started cgm.

      Real amla oil (not the dabur brand) has been used forever by south Asians for hair care, if you’re looking for amla Fable and Mane just released an amla hair serum or you could try this www.amazon.com/Fruit-Therapeutic-Grade-SVA-ORGANICS/dp/B07FSYZM6H
      And no I haven’t used Indian hemp grease, I’ve actually never heard of that!

      @@SuhannaDeSilva thank u. I seen some people use the pure amla powder.
      Im Asian and went my local store that carries Asian products and didnt find any lol
      I am glad I had found your yt because most people on here havs "curly" hair. And i literally have no idea what wavy type i am or how to tell my prosity or anything 🤣

    I have sort of a related question. This video makes sense and I started using my blow dryer, but using it more as a "ramped-up air-dry" ( I recently saw a video from Mel discussing this). It has a diffuser attachment, and I'm not scrunching the diffuser to my head, just using the warm air and moving it all around my head (hair is recently cut to slightly shorter than shoulder length).
    So far I'm liking the method, but given that I'm using a blow dryer still takes a long time to dry.
    So my question, for someone like me whose hair is between wavy and somewhat curly, I'm curious what actually holds the curls better in the end, air drying or using some drying technique?
    I realize it away the question is moot given the information of the video, but I have just never figured it out in my hair seems different all the time. I'm guessing using a dryer?

    • @SuhannaDeSilva

      Using a dryer will definitely help set your hair, but drying technique is only one factor in how your hair will turn out, there’s so many steps in the styling process that can change how your hair turns out!

    But I’ve been air drying for years and never use a diffuser cause of the frizz I get from using it does that mean my hairs damaged all this time

    • @SuhannaDeSilva
      @SuhannaDeSilva  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It could be getting damaged but if you’re doing repairing treatments like deep conditioning I’m sure it’s fine
