Reminds me back to the time when Silent Hunter 2 was around. There was a Destroyer game or add on (can't remember, as I was like 12 yrs old 😂) which was basically SH2 but via a destroyers perspective 🤔
Hey man, love the channel and the knowledge... seems you definitely have a future in TH-cam. If you got a good quality microphone then you could be up there with some of the great military Let's Players. Collab with JiveTurkey/Sub Brief when?
Thank you! I actually have a decent new microphone complete with boom to stop certain interfering sounds :). But current location prevents me from setting it up as normal, and I get a bit of back ground noise transmitted via the stand. I’m going to wedge some paper towel / bubble wrap under it 😂.
Haha that’s worrying because it suits me to the ground 😂. The reports do come constantly, but the general technique is “say the thing quickly, the variable slowly”. - The game repeats all the orders given, that’s actually accurate even if annoying when trying to talk on a stream 😂. We say “if it’s not repeated, it isn’t heard”. That being said a little brevity wouldn’t hurt 😇.
@@SchrodingerDeeps Yeah was interesting as I did hear orders pre-fixed with their role in the ship, however did notice on a few occasions a random voice and was wondering "who's this guy". must have been the cook wanting to put his 2 bobs worth in :)
My problem with this game, is you play as the Navigator giving orders, rather than the Captain getting an overall picture of the situation from your Crew. The plotting, I would've much preferred be handled by a crew. The problem is nearly all the gameplay takes place on the plotter which is a bit boring. There's bit of info form Radar, and Sonar but not enough to make you feel like you're hands on. I watched Sober play this n it was pretty boring to watch. After 30 minutes, still no action, though lots of ships blowing up. This would be really hard to sell as entertainment on my channel, except to diehard supporters of the game.
That is something I have been trying to wrap my head around! I had a sensation of something being missing, the main thing being a lack of “tactical picture” from the bridge. Or any real purpose to the bridge 😢. I guess that adds weight to your argument - you will spend ALOT of time plotting since that is the main tool. Very good points, and with the game still having a year to go before release I think they have time to bump up the engagement. - I believe this can be done by improving the tactical picture for command, and like you said allowing time away from the plotter. Via optional automation. - One of my suggestions I made in another forum has been immersive communication, being able to see more from the bridge and task group communications via flashing light being visible. I.e you can order evasive zigs and course changes as you escort your “flock” based on hunches or Intel.
Well all i can tell you is that avoid the simulator genre altogether and just play War thunder or World of warships IF you dont consider this as entertainment for your audience which is more arcadish game type.

You might be reffering to destroyer command its a seperate game that is connected to sh2 for multiplayer.
@@gotanon8958 Ha! Exactly! 100points

I think they could speed up the contact info a bit. Its like he is talking so that every drunk member on the crew can understand the info :)

3:08 are you high ?? pahaha
Not sure why you said that 😅.
A taste of your own medicine lol
It has a really foreboding atmosphere for a game in such an early phase of development, pretty cool.

All i can say is welcome to the simulator genre btw they said that they will automate the position when the game fully is released.
