Really Cale?……Jalapeños??……Beautiful Lake Superior…….Cale your Great Great Grand Parents…….paternal side came from Norway by way of Canada…..where twins were born, died and were buried…….then the family moved down into Minnesota and lived on the Shores of Duluth……working on the numerous lines of the Canadian National Railroad…….lots of family history running through this beautiful countryside…….
Lake Superior is my husband's favourite Lake! Magical!

Wow! That’s fascinating, but I’m not surprised!
Nostalgia for me, I’ve done that drive so many times over the years when living north of vermillion bay and then Winnipeg with family in north bay and Newfoundland. Having done this route in a moving truck 2x as well I preferred hwy 11 in the moving truck since it’s less hilly, but not much beats the views on hwy 17.
It's great to look back on things like this, great idea to film it. I didn't realise how big Canada is...WOW!

This is fun to watch. I did Toronto to BC a year ago but about a month earlier (no snow).
That would’ve been beautiful with the fall colors! So many times we thought this would’ve been easier a month earlier but we’re glad we weren’t doing it a month or two later! Thanks for watching!

Hello! Yes, it is quite different 🤣 I'm in an Island in the middle of the Caribbean called Puerto Rico. It is very beautiful here, of course, and as I said it is summer all year round for us. So if you guys like the beach, we have ton of that!! We have white sand beaches, some are very clear water beaches, black sand beaches too...
@@muneta amazing! Yes, I’m familiar with Puerto Rico! My dad was stationed there for 2 years when he was in the Air Force! I’d love to get there one day!
@@calezimmerman2435 that's awesome! You should add it to the bucket list. Best time for beaches is anytime🙃 but best time for rivers is summer. Our Xmas is quite long, up until mid January. So if you guys come to the island be sure to have fun!!!

Big trip! We lived in Mississauga for 7 years and my husband drove that same route to the West!! He almost got stuck in Wawa as the weather was snowy! We're so happy to be living in the West! Congratulations you'd be enjoying Calgary now!!❤😍🎄🎄
Wawa was the worst snow we saw on the trip, but we made it through okay!

Wishing you continued safe travels. Northern Ontario is the worst for it's options at Subway. I will say that. I miss the jalapenos too! More recently, I'm not sure what's up with their newer staff, some even forget to ask if you want it toasted, or even are willing to put the bacon cold in your sandwich even if you don't want the whole dang thing toasted. #twitchy

Beautiful area, love the lakes and rivers. When my husband goes to BC the road he has to take now since all of the flooding follows a lake with a 350 mile shore line.

@@calezimmerman2435 he used to take the 105 out of Washington up to Chetwynd BC. He now has to take the 97 up then cross over to Chamlupes(spelling) then over to Chetwynd. It adds an extra day each way. He is actually up there now but shut down early due to icy road conditions. He is a hazmat tanker driver hauling chemicals to the coal mines up there.
@@calezimmerman2435 The lake he was talking about is the Okanagan Lake, you might be near it or not far. It is 90 miles long with the huge shoreline and hubby says it's beautiful.

Wow! It seemed like a small town! We would love to explore it more closely when we have more time!
@@thezimmermanlife9965 Yes, we have about 2000 people here, more when there's contracting jobs moving through the town, and loads more between May and September (we're a fishing/hunting town, so lots of tourism during those months). But definitely worth a trip back! Amazing hiking along Lake Superior, beautiful beaches and forests. A beautiful place to be still and experience nature!
And Wawa always has the worst weather along the lake - We're this weird little pocket that carries it's own weather system I think, because of how the south winds come of the lake toward us, yet still having the weather from the north push downward. We always say, you can drive 20 minutes outside of Wawa in any direction, and the weather will definitely be better!
@@sarahbeukema9592 wow, you are so RIGHT! The snow was definitely the heaviest right on Wawa, but then we drove out of it not even 10 KM out of town!!

Our kitty is with my parents back in Ontario. We didn’t think she’d take to the road as well as the dogs so she’ll be flying in once we’re all settled in Calgary’s
Not a dumb question at all! It starts getting dark in the 4:00 hour and is dark by 5:00 - 5:15!!
