- In this episode we understand the approach to take to model a phone case in FreeCAD using the part workbench. There is also a part design workflow video which can be found via the link below. We will be using multiple extrudes and boolean operations to create a phone case with access to the ports and buttons of your phone.

I have not been using PART workbench much and this is a great introduction video.
Whilst a simple Tutorial the Compounding of Cut Operations looks like a great Tool to save time.
You’re doing such a great job in teaching and popularizing FreeCAD!
Thank you for the appreciation :)
It would be great if you made a video on how to take dimensions from a phone. Since phones often have a lot of curved and rounded surfaces.
Great. Thank you 🙂
The Part Workbench and the combination of the other workbenches, is great. I discovered a good way to change the content volume of a vessel, when I was playing around with the Part Workbench. Your welcome to include the technique in one of your future tutorials, the screen recording I uploaded, is probably hard for beginners to follow. After I uploaded it, I discovered a better way of linking a measurement, I put that info in the description.
Sounds good looking forward to seeing. If you place a link in the comments don't be worried if you see it vanish. Posts with links are automatically held for review. And I have to check my review queue. Had some people trying to advertise there websites in the comments so had to turn on that youtube feature. If it goes into review I will release it as soon as I can.
The Part/Part-Design distinction only became clear to me after using assemblies like A2plus. In the real world, your projects will most likely be composed of multiple parts. We are free to use whatever workbench is best suited for the particular part. It doesn't really matter to the assembly when you start incorporating each part into it. Your final assembly will be a mixture of many parts created from a variety of workbenches.
