Have ridden this road a number of times. Silverton is a cool little town along the way. Its actually two rides in one when you ride it from both directions.
Absolutely beautiful. The wife and I did this ride a number of years ago. We did the whole western side of Colorado, it is full of wonderful roads to ride.
I feel like one of the luckiest bikers. I live 30 minutes north of Ouray(you're-A) and get to ride the million dollar highway on a "morning ride". its hard not to become callused to the raw beauty when its not a hard place to reach, but I have found the little things that make the history and beauty even better.
I’ve watched the whole documentary 2x now, and can’t wait until I have the ability to ride out there with my wife. Outstanding job on the documentary, Ryan! I love all the content and will become a patron very soon.
On the bucket list. I got the whole documentary when you released it. Great video. Think you went through part of the Navajo Reservation when you mentioned all those houses in the middle of no where. It's huge and that's all you see going through it.
Ryan, loved your video on the Million Dollar highway. Me and some friends will be back there again this summer. Just thought I would mention, that the proper pronunciation of Ouray is “OOOray,” rhymes with Hooray. 😊. Keep at it brother. Love your stuff.
Colorado is my home, yes a native. I forget sometimes the beauty this place presents to all of us. Your narrative magnifies this. A emotional tribute for sure. Ouray's proper pronunciation is You-ray, but Our-ray makes it everyone's. Ride On!
Back in 77 I bought a Kawasaki Z1. Lived in CO so I rode it all over the state, and later to the Bay Area and back. Durango is worth a ride on the Durango and Silverton RR. You saw a lot of it though. When you ride South out of Ouray (pronounced Yer-ray after the Ute chief),the highway winding up out of town is amazing!
Great video, I am planning to ride this route next summer with my son from Casper, wy to Vanderwagon, Nm to visit my sister. Your videos are very inspiring and well done.
You need to come to Silver City, NM. A lot different than Northwest NM. Spend a couple days riding our Mountains and then Grab the Devils Highway between 3 way, AZ and Alpine, AZ

I have had the opportunity to be on that road myself several times. Colorado has some very fun rides! One of my all time favorites is over the top of the hill from Estes Park to Grand Lake. I believe it is the highest paved road in North America.
Another great video LAB! Always enjoy your films. If you ever get to Arizona you must ride the Devil's Highway from Alpine to Morenci. 90 miles, over 1,000 twisties.
If you have time, stop in Silverton, Its old mining town with a steamtrain that comes up right in the middle of town from Durango, turns aroun d and heads back. MDH (550) is a Great m/c road.
I hope you stopped and took advantage of the hot spring pools while in Ouray. I know for me it was nice to unwind and take a break after a long day of riding. I live in NH and incorporated The Million Dollar Highway into my 14 day 6800 mile trip.

I'm suprised you didn't stop at the worlds highest (in altitude) Harley shop in Silverton. I parked in front on my honda and they harrassed the hell out of me! All in good fun!
Great Vid of a beautiful area - though you mispronounced Ouray. A lot visitors mispronounce it as well. I live in the Durango area and feel you did the area justice especially with the aerial views. Silverton just opened up this week, so it's time to get the HD warmed up and get out there. Keep up the good work! Yes, not much to see between Gallup and Durango, but still a great ride.
Any chance I could get you to say something about your GoPro setup: fisheye/wide angle, fps, resolution, and battery setup ? Outstanding documentary. I've done the Durango, Ouray, Silverton ride before back in the 80's. Got lost in a snowstorm (back when I was riding my R90 BMW) and ended up in this little podunk town named Telluride. But, that's another story...
What a great ride! Took your advice and went! Rode from Ouray to Silverton (actually Grand Junction to Durango) and tried my hand at a movie too (not as good as yours but I try ... it’s on my channel) Tons of fun!!
Riding the Durango - Silverton Railroad has been on my bucket list for years; we finally got to cross it off last September. (Check out Vacations By Rail for a rail package featuring that, and 4-5 more vintage rail rides in CO). This video reminds me why going to Durango immediately went back on the list -- do it by motorcycle!
I crashed up there! Rode home with zip ties and tape 🤣🤣. Made it home in one piece. But my bike was missing a few things. Have ridden all around that area and new Mexico many times. Never gets old.
Love the video. I will be riding the million dollar highway in August this year. Love the music and would like to know the music being played as you ride the highway. Thanks
Stay at the Southern KOA cabins....they have air conditioning in Southern Durango. They also have the "drunk train" in August where they allow all you can drink beer..so fun. REMEMBER the Government put Natives on that land..not by choice..i was born in Gallup There is also a hotspring hotel in Silverton..hidden on main street
Great job on the video. What month did you ride the Million dollar hwy. I ask because I will be riding from N. Carolina and would like to know the best month to not get weathered out. This ride is on my to ride buck list along with the hwy to the sun.
we did this once, past Ouray all the way about 10 miles pass the dam from Ouray.getting late heading back to.our hotel in Durango via million dollar hwy. at night scary bush dogs coming out nowhere.
8:00 - drone is right over my house. FYI its "Ooh-Ray". Come back when its not so smoky when the skies are deep blue. It's magical. Do the San Juan Skyway Loop: Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Telluride, Cortez, Durango. I cheat and cut off in Dolores towards Mancos then Durango. Another great ride is from Ouray to Naturita, then take SH 141 to Grand Junction, roll on to Colorado National Monument...best not in the middle of the summer as it can get pretty damn toasty. Then its an easy hop to the National Parks in Utah.
if you get to Europe try the stelvio pass in Italy it's a biker's paradise the alps and other mountain regions are littered with passes and great roads for Germany to Austria, to Italy to France to Switzerland outstanding trust me. how about some reviews on the new Indians??
I'm going to try to ride the million dollar highway been up and down it in a vehicle Colorado is Gods country are at a place in Durango best food I ever stuck a fork in we stayed the night in Silverton tried to have a beer in one of the pubs there but the locals got very unfriendly towards us we were just passing through after working all week around Pagosa. to this day Silverton leaves a bitter taste in my mouth oh well so much for that i try to watch all your content ride the Tetons

We went there last year, Durango is a really cool place. And the Million Dollar Highway blew our minds! Absolutely stunning!
The Icefield's Parkway from Jasper Alberta down to Banff Alberta rates right up there as well.
One of the best roads to ride you can’t describe how beautiful is it. Rode it twice and can’t get enough of it. Outstanding camera 📷 shots
