Great advice! Thanks for the story! Seems like networking is a big deal when getting started. What is the alternative to doing freelance work?

Yes networking is very important. School is a great place to meet people that are starting out and also teachers who might work in the industry. I think an alternative would be to try and get in as a Production Assistant and work your way up Film and TV sets. Or look into business that have an internal video team and get in at entry level.
