Very impressed with coast. Wrote them off a long time ago after I graduated past homedepot flashlights. But those headlamps are stellar. My “trusty” Petzle is on thin ice now!
I was always more of a Black Diamond fan, but had success with Petzl...... but have been experiencing QC issues with Black Diamond pivot joints failing... including after stronger fixes... just poor design and not enough material.....now considering the Coast ZX850 powered variants.... lifetime warranty just makes sense!... the TP9R is one of the most reliable work/tactical mid sized flashlights I've ever owned... Coast has certainly come a LONG way over the past 20 years!
Thank you for the thorough review, so cool to see. We have some additional high-end stuff coming out next year at SHOT! Excited to share it with you, see you there? 👀
I have heard a lot of reviewers complain about magnetic chargers vs USBC. I never hear anyone talk about how a magnetic charger prevents having to repeatedly open a flashlight to get to the battery. This prevents wear on the O ring and means the magnetically charged flashlight should retain its water resistance a lot longer. Even flashlights with external USBC charging ports depend on a rubber seal that also wears over time. Don't get me wrong, I prefer USBC for not having to keep proprietary chargers around...but for a hard use flashlight I think magnetic charging makes a lot of sense.
Would like to have seen these compared to petzl and black diamond that are more purpose oriented and less clunky than that coast. Any chance you’d do a comparison of mountain biking helmet lights?
I wish someone would make a voice controlled one but is much smaller and a little bit more sleek and a little bit more you know, sexy looking. Coast products to me always feel a little bit cheap for some reason.
I ice fish a lot in the winter and darkness comes early and i night fish a lot so having a headlamp could mean the difference between life and death. One wrong step down you go. So i guess my needs are different from someone else. I got caught in a fog storm last winter and when you're in it you can't see past your nose. Everything is dark and when you turn up your headlamp all you can see is milk colored confusion. I have the Coast fl75 1000 lumen light.
I know headlamps are not trendy or fashionable but when you need to work with your hands, they are invaluable. Thanks Dom

16:14 and the head laser for handsfree pointing 🤯
I've had the RL35R for months now and it's fantastic long term. I never thought I'd find the voice feature useful but it totally is.
Finally! Amazing insight! Thank you!
Thanks for another great video! H16 on the way for the back pack
Damn near perfect.
My thoughts exactly on the Coast RL35R! UV instead of Blue.
Nitecore, your turn!
For headlamps take a look at Black Diamond or Petzl . Pretty much the standard in the climbing and mountaineering community

Hmm, not likely next year..moving. But we will definitely keep in contact!

The issue with the skillhunt one is that it rusts..the olight one is better.
@@maxlvledc Oy! That is a problem
…unless you are working around metal shavings.

Nice Lights.
The headlights are great but I still prefer headlamps that allow hand movement control such as Everbeam H6
I may take a neobdiduim or however it is spelled, magnet and glue it to the bottom of the first acebeam

You need to Buy a KLARUS HC3 than you have gesture control, too. 😁
