√5 = a/b (a & b are Coprimes and b ≠O)
Squaring both sides
(√5) ²=a²/b²
5=a²/b²
5b²=a² ---1
5 divides a²
Then 5 also divides a
5c=a (c is any constant)
Squaring both sides
(5c)² = a²
(a²=5b² from ---1)
(5c²) = 5b²
25c²=5b²
25c²/5=b²
5c²=b² ---2
5 divides b²
5 divides b too
This contradicts the fact that a & b are Coprimes
Therefore, our assumption was wrong
√5 is irrational
