I guess no one remembers 2-piece masts windsurfing. When you put the mast together, it is a tight tolerance fit just like this one lock. If you even get a few grains of sand/dirt/whatever in the sleeve it's almost impossible to take apart. We use duct tape to cover the seam which prevented crap from getting in there. Don't you think that since this foil is in the water constantly, it is going to get sand in there? Any thoughts on this?
Sand does not seem to be a big problem. There's a video on Instagram where Fred Hope puts it together with an extra big portion of sand (more than you would probably ever get in there in regular use) and it tightens up fine and comes apart more or less easily. They said the system will even work with the usual wear over the years and still be tight ... future will tell but I very much looking forward to test this soon !!
Screws suck. Here’s a bunch of proprietary screws and pieces to fit your board. This will be forgotten by next year. Haven’t seen a single person use it or recommend it. Honestly never even seen a Slingshot foil setup being used
That's probably the slickest way to do it. I do get the point of having no tools at all but I think I would rather not have the T screws sticking out....

No. Mast are not adjustable. One Lock is for variances.

I run my one lock with boards that have tracks out the back so no need for the board kit
