@@F1Breaking I don’t see how that could be a bad thing. Americans are fuckin crazy about their sports and would absolutely bring a ton of excitement on a week to week basis. Having Americans and the European countries hash it out every week would be so much fun. The fact that Mercedes and Toto use their leverage of their engines and uses that against teams like mclaren to flip their support of Andretti rubs me the wrong way. Zak brown was for them joining and suddenly boom Mercedes obviously made a phone call and put an end to that shit real quick. The whole system is just kind of dirty. Clearly Mercedes doesn’t want another Luxury car brand on the grid, so the fact that selling cars and branding can possibly prevent another team from joining a RACING league also is fucking dirty. The Euro teams are all fearful of U S dominance in the sport. Mercedes vs Cadillac is just one example. With billions of 😢dollars floating around the idea of watering down the prize money is poppycock. Toto Wolff is the most outspoken about not allowing Andretti into F1. Andretti's main issue is the fact they want to stay as a American based team with all their F1 headquarters in the U.S.! Realistically they need to have a european base as well. Sure they could design and build the car in America. But would need a base over in the U.K. or in Europe somewhere just for cost and logistical reasons of shipping cars race to race snx the ti e it tskes ti get spsre parts to the track on race weekends. You'd think Michael Andretti would know this and remember the toll it took on him his one and only year racing for McLaren. That, and also being teammates to Senna were why he failed in his attempt at F1 racing. Plus Ron Dennis and McLaren turning their backs on him in every attempt to try and keep Senna at McLaren. But Senna already knew his plans were to go to Williams the following year. But used the dangling of the proverbial carrot to get what he needed from McLaren's team and pit crews on bith sides of its garage. Michael's jumping on the Concorde immediately after races to fly back home wasnt seen as wanting to improve his craft in a f1 car favorabley though ! So his flying back and forth was ultimately his oen undoing of being in F1 ! How do you help development by not being there ? Remember this was well before racing sims. and the computers that they have now for communications back-and-forth from America to Europe. His lack of just being around the team ,especially since Senna was totally the opposite , killed any chance he had back then !
Hopefully Andretti Autosports gets in ine way or another. Raising the price from $200million to $600mill. just is anither way the teams will unlikely let them in ! But buying a team like Alpha Tauri for that same $600mill makes more sense, and would give them the much need Euro base to F1 that makes Andretti's beung there more feasible to travel costs and the money F1 gives out for that. Why would F1 want to transport their teams gear and personnel back snd forth to 🇺🇸 when everyother teams headquarters are in England, Italy or Switzerland ? Get that through Andretti's head and then they have a chance. Whats really 🤯 , is F1 is owned by a American company so youd fhink it wiuldng be so hard. Also the FIA and Liberty need to give up a bigger slice of their prize $$ and TV rights $$ to offset the loses the other teams are worried about losing out on, if one or two more teams enter F1. After all the rules say up to 12 teams can compete ! So WTF let a real 🇺🇸🏎💨into the sport !! F1 certainly loves to take in 🇺🇸$$$$ from the 🇺🇸 fans and its only getting bigger over here with 3 races in US and 5 total in the America's N&S !
So whats the F-ing problem?? Is it all just , boiling down to GREED ?!!?

Did Sauber use Andretti's bid to buy then ti drive up the cost to Audi ??? Their whol argument of that deal was remaining in leadership of the team. So they basically did what Ferrari did to Ford to get Fiat to buy them.

Michael Andretti well remembers his Dad's successful climb to the F1 World Championship in 1978. He also remembers his own disastrous foray in F1 some years later. I believe he has unfinished business to attend to. HE should be allowed to join the grid. However, F1's questionable business practices should be carefully scrutinized. Antitrust violations, price fixing, etc. But what's good for the owners isn't necessarily good for the sport. F1 needs to guard against becoming stale and predictable. New teams and drivers can only help in the long run, unless you're Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull.

Alpha Tauri is not necessary, no other team has a "junior team" in F1. Driver development is what F2 and F3 are for. if you like someone, then call them up. The fact that F1 as a whole was blocking legitimate competition from joining when they have a redundant team makes matters worse. The argument that they would get less money is ridiculous. F1 generates obscene amounts of money annually.

Andretti will have a very difficult time if at all entering F1. First the fee $200 - $600 million to enter, will GM stomach this? US OEM's have had a recent history of not doing well in F1 therefore the ROI does not look good. Now let's say the do pay any entry fee that satisfies the current teams and they are able to join, then comes the hard part. Andretti has not been succesful recently in any category, they have not won an Indy Championship in the last 10 years, AMLS never won a championship, Indy 500, Andretti won with Takuma Sato in 2017. Indy Car is mostly considered F2 in FIA's terms, teams run the same Dallara chasis and teams do not design the car except for minimal parts so they do not have the inhouse design, manufacturing talent. Andretti would have to get the talent from current teams because FIA would not go for a Haas type team. Good Luck.

      1. Mario doesn’t own the team, Michael does and always has
      2. Michael is apparently good friends with Zak brown, probably contributing a little bit to f1 interest.
      3. I think he has a bone to pick with f1 if you believe his side of the story about his time there.

I could care less about Andretti, but I’m okay with them buying Alpha Tauri. It keeps 10 teams. Nobody loses money, qualifying traffic won’t get more congested than it already is in some tracks, gets rid of a pointless team in AT and Europeans can finally get that American validation they seem so pressed for 🤦🏾‍♂️

Disappointing to see current teams block new teams from joining f1. They should open it up to anyone with the financial backing to field a team, and during qualifying, only the fastest 20 drivers get to participate in the race. At the end of the year, the TV money can be divided just like it is now, to the top 10 teams. Anyone remember the 107% rule that kept slower drivers from participating in a race? Just because you field a team, doesn't mean you get to race. Letting more teams participate and only the top 20 drivers race would also increase competition by eventually weeding out the poor performing teams.

They don't like the competition he will bring, they don't want to share prize money, it shouldn't be allowed - there is a remit to have 13 teams on the grid at any one time. 26 cars is where it was best. they should allow him to join, not forcing him to take on a second rate team like AT. I've been watching since late 75 (I was a kid of 4 when I first saw F1), this new era sucks and it's not down to the drivers... Michael Andretti would be welcomed by nearly all neutral F1 Fans and would bring a lot more spectators to the sport. they are missing a trick here, they are frightened of Ferrari and Mercedes leaving I guess....
