Everyone else signs off for the rest of 2024 and here is Annie still posting!! 😍🤩 thank you!!!!!
This ! And she’s still grieving her father. She’s a wonder woman ❤
What a woman! (TEAM!!!) Merry Christmas ALL!!!!🫶
If you try them enough you will find another black man guilty! Texas, the wrong state for any justice
If you scroll down, you'll see a post from a week ago with a photo taken in front of a Christmas tree & a message about the holidays. 👩🏼🤝👨🏽🎄🎁 She & her team are taking a few weeks off, but will still be posting prerecorded videos. 😊📺🩷 She's so good to us. Love her. God bless. 🙏🏼💞
Oh my god Yess 😭🥳 we appreciate your dedication, Annie, we love this channel
How about when the caller says they hear gunshots that you just go ahead and send an ambulance 🙄
My thought exactly.
I know! She annoyed the hell out of me! 😂
Right??
😂😂
Seriously. You can’t convince me that any amount of training explains why “report of a violent crime that requires police may not require an ambulance.” MAYBE if a small town has only 2 ambulances & 3 crimes happening. Obviously the kid hiding in the closet isn’t going to go assess it so why keep asking. DO OR DO NOT. lol I ain’t gonna be the 911 operator to roll those dice. Like, this ain’t no car backfire. The shot came from inside the house.
As a retired police officer, it looks like the police looked at no other options in this case. It's called tunnel vision and they work a case around that theory
Agree!!!
💯
Sounds Smart. 😂😂😂 Also sounds like the same logic used by "Trust the Science" people lmao
@TimesUp8888 if it wasn't for science you wouldn't be driving a car, flying in a plane, typing on a smartphone, taking antibiotics for an infection, getting a plate and screws in your broken leg, having a stent put it your blocked coronary artery after a heart attack, having a veterinarian fix your dog's allergies, keeping your food fresh in a refrigerator, watching TV, having security cameras on your house, playing music on a radio, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
@ugh here we go 🙄🙄
Hey Annie, just wanted to let you know that I think it is really great that you put a video out on the day after Christmas. Not everyone has happy holidays and this would be a great distraction.
I was coming to say the same thing. A good portion of us struggle even more around the holidays.
@@MrsB-43 Yep, sadly :(
Are you okay?
Yes , I m following Annie from Europe , she is really one of the best , her channel is really well done and always super on time with videos despite vacations or whatever, super merry Christmas to Annie and her faboulous team , you all are really great 😊
I’m one of those and I rely on Annie and others to get me through the holidays. It’s very painful being alone. Thankyou Annie for your hard work always ❤
Adoptive parents are REAL parents. As someone who is adopted is drives me crazy that people say things like “he isn’t her real dad”. The word you are looking for is biological NOT real.
👆🏻✊🏻 🤟🏻 this!!! I called my mom and dad and brother my REAL family... And my biological... "My biological family"
Exactly. I have a bio dad and a dad. I don't use the word real. My dad treats me just like he did/does my brothers❤
Absolutely
Adoptive and step parents! 100%
This!!!
"Just wondering if i need to send an ambulance as well" the 911 responder AFTER hearing the kid saying "I heard 2 gunshots in my parents bedroom." That 911 call responder is something else.
I can’t stand them when they’re like thus. It’s an irritation that’s different from all other. Like if you can’t do life abd death situations without attitude and common sense, move over sis.
Duh, gunshots…
@@Naonical I swear this made me so mad
Aj asked for the police because he heard gun shots. The 911 kept asking him if he needed ambulance because Aj never mentioned the emts to come. Also, found it strange Aj never went inside his parents bed room to check in on them to see if they were ok & how bad was it. How about I shouldn't let you in the house it's my fault. At first I thought josh in how Annie was leading out with this true crime story. They're red flags or things don't add up that Aj did this. If you noticed in the interview Aj was asked why did you kill your parents, and he said I didn't. He was also asked who do you think did this. Aj said idk who did it, but at his trials his lawyers said his half brother Josh did the murde. That means Aj doesn't believe his brother did it because if he really thought Josh murdered their parents he would of said it in his interview.
100%!!!! "Do YoU nEeD aN aMbUlAnCe?" Like "no bish, send me a pizza!!!" Wtf🫠
I’m a high school teacher; it may surprise some people how often one of my students says something like “I haven’t seen it [done it, heard it, thought about it, etc.] since I was 8 years old”, when they really mean last week, last month, last year…take your pick. Such exaggeration is quite common in undeveloped brains that experience the passage of time differently from adults. Furthermore, teenagers do not grasp things like loss or death in the same way. I’ve also had students who recently lost a loved one, but they don’t miss any school and behave very much like AJ…that is, as if it hadn’t happened. It’s not denial or anything of that psychological ilk, it is simply that the concept of death for young people is entirely different. Just as young people think they are immoral, it can take them a long time to accept or understand the finality and the permanent loss brought on by death.
I’m not trying to give AJ an out. I’m really not sure what to think. I do, however, cut him some slack for behaving exactly like a teenager in the aforementioned ways. Also, I think the juror who spoke out was correct. I don’t think the final jury fully understood where reasonable doubt ends and finding a defendant guilty begins. “I’m not sure” is not enough to convict.
I'm 41 and have often said "the other day" and it means years ago
I agree.💯
Omg do you really expect someone to read this long comment
I always say the other day, and it could mean yesterday or last month/week/year. Lol
@@aquafina6544 I did.
I find it totally unfair that the prosecution can try this case as many times as they wanted to, but AJ gets denied on appeal. Complete BS! I don't know if he is guilty of this crime, but like you said sooner or later, he would go down for this.
It's deeply disturbing that they tried so hard to convict this kid with absolutely no evidence and didn't even look elsewhere we should all be very concerned for our own freedom
My thought exactly 3 times to get what they wanted
Absolutely crazy in this day&age! It's always happened but with technology you think it's not possible with rights...
Are you serious? The evidence was in the house, he’s guilty and where he deserves to be.
Wait, no evidence? Ever heard of circumstantial evidences?
No doubt about it. Smh......😢
Had no problem throwing his brother under the bus for 7 years but won’t give up the name of his “friend” who was present when he test fired the gun?! I think it's because there was no friend.
Yeah, I wonder how Josh felt hearing his sister did the same. Probably just confirms any doubt about his place in the family sadly. 🙁
@@siennalace8815yeah, if he didn’t question it beforehand it would definitely be hard not to afterwards!
That's so sad that his fears were put into light through a tragic loss.
If the friend exists and he really didn't do the crime, then he probably got his friend to do it for him and that's why he won't give him up.
It’s hard to trust someone who lies all the time. You never know if they’re telling the truth or not.
It's easy. They cannot ever be trusted.
A lying teenager does not a m u r d e rer make....
Well once u know that they lie a lot or have lied to you even Once, the intelligent response would be to assume everything they say is a lie from then on, and Fact Check everything they say.
The smartest response would be to never see or speak to said person again, or low contact etc.
You can trust a thief but you can't trust a liar.
Of course it is, but just bc someone is a liar doesn’t mean they’re guilty of unaliving their parents. Some people lie so much that it’s just second nature, even when it comes to the most trivial stuff
He didn’t respond when the detective told him his mother didn’t make it
🎯Literally, NO reaction
I was wondering if that was possibly wasn’t the first time he heard that news.
@@shawnadurocher1 no it was that night. I remember when this happened
Yeah I noticed that too but what does that mean exactly ? Could he possibly be in shock ? Or could he have already known that & just not care ? Imo either is possible & as cliche as it is there is no one size fits all reaction to bad news. If he immediately broke down upon hearing about his mom I’m sure folks would say those are crocodile tears…just a no win situation
No, but all sounds from him stopped & his tone became angry. He may've not wanted to cry or react in front of the officers.
"How'd you get into our house?" And "It's all my fault." So strange...
“…what have I done?”
Ya what is that whole thing so eerie
@@JenAgrippa my same thoughts!
New drinking game. Take a shot every time the officer says “ultimately”.
This is driving me nuts right now. I came to see if anyone else mentioned it. So not the point I know, but it's very distracting and annoying.
Ha! I just pulled the comments to see if anyone else noticed. 🤣 So far I've counted 12.
It’s making it very difficult to continue listening. Ultimately.
😂 I think it’s his favourite “big” word. 💀
I worked with a guy one time who constantly used the word "allude" or a derivative thereof, such as alluding, alluded, etc. It drove me nuts because almost every other sentence was "yeah, the boss alluded to that, our coworkers were alluding to, the customer was alluding to the fact that... I don't mean to allude to anything nefarious, but... " I had no idea one could use that word so many times in one 5 minute conversation, lol. Needless to say, I tried to avoid speaking to that guy whenever possible, without alluding to his excessive use of the word. 🤣
With the shot through the floor supposedly 2-3 weeks prior, and even THAT story changing, I find it hard to believe his parents didn't notice for WEEKS the hole in the ceiling or the drywall/rock dust with the bullet in their floor. Perhaps I'm wrong, but these people seemed to be very aware about their kids and their own lives.
But why would he shoot through the floor? That doesn’t make any sense.
Also, if it was Joshseems like he might have killed AJ too, due to the jealousy.
17:05 He whispers, "How'd you get into our house?" "It's all my fault." I've watched many videos on this case and this has always been a major question that no one seems to have an answer for. I'm not sure if I missed it, but I didn't hear you bring that up. I believe this is something that needs further investigation.
Yeah, actually, thats a really good point!!! I wonder what that was all about??
I heard that too.
@@T4RMamaBear that’s what I lasered in on and why I think he did it. I think he was talking to himself. He was trying to figure out how to explain the alarm being on and trying to work it out and didn’t realize he was talking out loud.
He also said he felt bad bc he saw the person, could be Survivors Guilt.
He had no GSR, he didn’t use the gun. NO DNA on him. 2 men break into the gym 2 weeks later. It’s sus.
@@DubsTV93I can’t get past his zero emotion when he was told his mom didn’t survive.
This is a hard case but I do think he is guilty, he talked to the detectives like it was no big deal and the alarm still being set. So sad for this entire family 🙏🏼
AJ just sounds like he’s not telling the truth to the police. He’s not a good liar. The police aren’t dumb.
Especially the "he was African American.. I didn't see his face, though, he had a mask on" 😭
... So, I guess **insert stereotype here** must be proof of the person's identity 🤦🤦
Especially in that interview from jail, he said it should’ve been a Hung jury or not guilty instead of saying I’m innocent
@@Msfitness3 that statement was weird as heck to me… easy to miss but suspicious.
@@Msfitness3 Yeah I caught that too, it was sus as hell. However, I don’t think he’s guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Too many other things that the police wrote off as “coincidences” weren’t looked into. So while AJ may have done it, he certainly isn’t guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Hence why so many folks are on the fence about the case
This really made me sob those poor parents only wanted a good life for their babies . 😢💔💔
He did it. Never once asked if his parents were okay. Every time he speaks its just about how hard things are for him. Has never mentioned missing his parents or mad that they aren't trying to find the real killer. And all the lies. He definitely did it.
This!
Yes
I agree, wholeheartedly.
These 911 dispatchers are truly the worst. The lack of empathy, the amount of repeated questions bc they’re not initially paying attention. I know their job is stressful but they really need better training as a whole.
I'm no longer a dispatcher, but I was for 11 years. Certainly additional training can be needed, but it's not as simple as they're "not initially paying attention ". They're also tracking locations, on the radio with responders giving the details, answering questions officers are asking, etc. I know some people are just bad at their jobs, but things are asked in the order we have to ask them, and then additional things asked as responders have additional questions 🤷🏻♀️
The dispatcher sounds annoyed by having to do her job. She clearly needs another line of work or betteryet just stay home.
@@katgurl5119I do not think she sounded annoyed at all.
One has to remember that they are trying to do all the things the above commenter said, and keeping the person on the phone until help gets there…that may mean asking mundane questions and repeating them…so that the caller also can be kept calm…it’s for the safety of everyone. She reassured him several times that the police were otw. I think that would be everyone’s questions…have you dispatched them? So she did a fine job. What do you do for a living? I’ll bet ppl would be able to criticize your job performance if we didn’t know all the details.
Exactly if I am calling quietly bc I'm scared, don't want to be heard, or whatever the case I don't want to repeat my freaking phone number. There were other parts too but that part drove me crazy and made me mad at them lol
@lilbrittnany do you not understand that not only is the dispatcher multitasking by listening, taking info, sending the proper help(LE, Fire,EMS) they also are trying to keep the caller safe and on the line until help arrives? Repeated questions may be bc she was reaching out to the proper agency, but it also could be to keep the person calm and talking. She reassured him several times that help was already on the way, told him not to leave his room. Asked the age of his sister. These are necessary for the safety of the caller and the agencies that have been dispatched.
Unless it is your job, with all it entails, it’s really easy to criticize others for how they do their job. I’m sure we could go to your job and be all Know it all about how you should do it.
Maybe ppl need to think before they sit and judge and criticize ppl out of ignorance of the situation. Please, just think before you comment.
Why is it weird that he grabbed his shotgun when his parents were just unalived? It would be weird if he didn’t.
I thought the same thing.
If a family member called me in this situation, I'd show up with my gun. Of course, I always conceal carry and I'm Texan. That was the least weird thing in this case tbh
This one is perplexing. There’s enough stuff connected to the gym that makes me wonder. I’m not convinced he’s guilty but I’m also not convinced he’s innocent. If I had the information you supplied and I was on the jury, I wouldn’t be able to take his freedom.
Yaaaaasssss!!!! Impeccable timing and you are stunning! Merry Christmas to you and your family and here’s to a fantastic new year 🎉
I like when she’s saying “Let’s jump right in,” as the opening music drowns her out. It’s almost obnoxiously loud, but it works. How could you not love this young ladies story telling skills?
I’m torn between if he did it or not. Yes at first it sounds like he did it but the break in that the cops didn’t look into, the story the woman told the cops, and then the death of her husband all seems like AJ didn’t do it. I just hope that if AJ was wrongly convicted that he gets released and the right person is brought to justice!
I agree. And there’s no way it was beyond reasonable doubt. I’m definitely torn and would not have convicted him. Can’t say innocent but can’t confidently say guilty either. Sad situation!
It’s a shame that dawn, the mother, felt that she was failing! There are so many parents that absolutely do contribute to their kids growing up and being assholes with no morals, but it really does seem like she and his father sincerely did set the stage for having a good, stable, successful life with goals, ambitions, and good morals. Some people just can’t be helped!
Unpopular opinion but it’s not just parenting that helps mold a child. Societal and peer pressure contribute to how a child turns out.
@@andrewDaMack yep exactly, so while parenting does play a big role people don’t often acknowledge how peer pressure and other factors also play a major role in child development.
Im in the area of @42:23 and feel like little buddy shows SOOO many more emotions about the bullet hole in the ceiling than he did when hearing his mom didn't make it && his dad's still in the hospital 💔
If I didn't count my chickens before they hatched talking about little buddy 🤦♀️ went from not knowing where it is && NEVER touching/seeing the gun, to a few weeks ago 'he.. I mean, me and buddy' about the gun.. but the ceiling residue still shouldn't be there..
mmkay.. I'm done until the end.. for now at least...
This couple were at my fundraising event the night they were killed. That was the 1st time I had ever met them.
They were so happy and having a great time. I could not believe when I got to work the next day that this had happened. I also do not know I feel about it. This was a huge shock to our community.
I grew up here and still live here and never heard of this! Thanks for covering Annie 🥺
Ohhhh FINALLY you CoVered This Case!!!! I actually Posted A While ago asking you to cover this case in a different Video. Glad You Did.
#1 You’re not stupid!! Far from it!! #2 Thank you for educating us on all things crime that affects EVERY aspect of life. We truly appreciate what you do ❤
I agree. I love sports and didn't even think about Canada having a football team at all!!
The 911 call irritates me “do you need an ambulance?” Ma’am he heard gunshots just send them anyways
Right
He's way to calm in that interview for somone who's mom just died.
His story changes way too much also.
As a child who was adopted and I didn't find out til I was eight. Everyone around me knew. But lied to me about it. It really messes with a Childs mind. Resentment kicks in. Doubt of being loved kicks in. It cuts deep.
Still no reason to commit murder , if it was him and not AJ
you resent a couple who didn't birth you but loved you as their own because they waited until you were old enough to understand what adoption was ? what an ungrateful brat
I knew I was adopted my whole life. My brother and I were both adopted.
@@louisamans3481 I never said it was a reason. There is no reason to murder anyone.
@@zxy78267 I did t til I was eight. My childhood was painful and some was a blur. I remember bits and pieces.
It’s easy for outsiders to say he wasn’t treated differently. Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors.
Totally, my cousin was raised by our uncle and despite getting all her needs met she kept noting that "something" that left her feeling second class. Then all the cousins that lived with this particular uncle and even all that lived with them related to his wife not their children noted that feeling of being othered.
Then she noted a few instances that even I feel icky about:
- they were always introduced separately as "the orphans we've taken in" and brought out to be introduced as if animals on show
- they were never praised or helped with anything while seeing the house kids get supported and praised to the utmost
- they always got everything just a smidge less than, the house kids went to private school but they went to public school the house kids got trips but the fundraised for school fees and weren't allowed to get scholarships
- whenever they did something wrong they were reminded they were nothing were it not for uncle and wife's kindness but they looked away when the house kids did wrong thing
- they had to help them malign their parents
Even then, people still say that's not abuse or inequitable treatment but rather victims if circumstances, but all the kids this guy took in hate them so there's something to it at the least (why was he hoarding destitute children?).
@@availanila this is so sad
He's guilty. He did it
I wish people would stop blaming the other brother. When is clear who was the manipulator in the family
I feel the same way
Ditto. Many of the text messages between AJ and his parents really illustrate the level of conflict and frustration they were dealing with. I think he was tired of his parents control and wanted them gone.
He isn’t guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Too many other things that the police wrote off as “coincidences” weren’t investigated so it’s no way to be certain if AJ is 100% guilty. Could he have done it ? Yes, especially bc of his constantly changing story & lack of emotion concerning his parents. However, there seems to be too much exculpatory evidence to say for sure. For example, I think Karen Read ran over John O’Keef. However, what I think doesn’t matter bc it can’t be proven she did it in court beyond a reasonable doubt as it’s too many other scenarios that couldve happened.
Totally agree.. he's even trying to manipulate everyone by having a baby n getting married whilst on house arrest.
Agreed.
The dispatcher asked 3x if they needed medical. If you were worried about your parents dying, wouldn’t you emphatically say ‘yes’? He said ‘I don’t know’ every time. You’d say IDK out of shock, if you didn’t want to reveal you knew they needed medical and/or if you didn’t want to say ‘yes’ and risk their life being saved and you being identified.
BINGO
Or you’d say I don’t know if in fact you don’t know. Most teenagers do in fact answer most things to authority with the basic truths when under duress. He couldn’t have known if medical was needed if in fact his story is truth.
Wow. This is actually the first case you have presented us that I actually have reasonable doubt.
Also, this is the 3rd podcast I have heard of a kid killing their parent(s), WTH?! And Lord, listening to AJ, he is a psychopath, no trauma, no tears, no fear, even. Just a chat about his parents being shot.
Perfect time Annie! Cleaning the aftermath of Christmas finally 😂 thank you for all the hard work you put into these videos! Happy new year!!!
Crazy! So GSR is enough to convict, but a lack of GSR can't exonerate you?
This ☝🏽
GSR can easily be washed off or even just brushed off. Amount of time, type of gun, all plays a factor. You can fire a gun and not get any on your hands.
@@scubaninja9993 gloves could be used. Soap. There could be many reasons why GSR doesn't show up on your hands.
@@hillarylombardi8918but did you hear how many times the officer told him you can’t just wash it off not that easy and not that fast. I’m sorry but NO, anyone firing the type of weapon used in this murder would have gun shot residue on them, much more blow back and spatter should’ve been on him. Even Alex Murdaugh had gsr and blood spatter on him. He used two long barreled weapons that wouldn’t expose his hands directly to gsr but even the transporting of recently fired weapons will give you gsr…. And also where’s the weapon? If he was in that house the entire time til the police got there a murder weapon should’ve been recovered that easily would’ve made him look more guilty but if the killer took it with them than I can see why this isn’t apart of the discussion they never said his dads gun was used. Why didn’t they check with the life insurance company. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist but I think they killed Maxine’s husband bc she was talking and it was a warning to her. She had no real evidence to prove her cause but let me tell you something women have half your money and all the ***** that’s enough to make you want to talk. Her husband may have had enough and decided to talk and they were like no sir. Also with that being said the police are complicit in this coverup no crime no need for them. They know those sex rings are operating they just need them to continue. Just like war makes money so does crime. They could’ve investigated the books on the gym, they could’ve explored just one possible avenue. If two jury’s couldn’t convict and all of a sudden new evidence from old evidence shows up. Tell me how does it sound to say oh we were given a chance to do our due diligence but we just didn’t think the sticker mattered so we left it. Like what? Excuse me what?
@@katrinahowie9764and he could’ve changed his clothes or worn something over them as well.
I'm glad I wasn't sitting on that jury. This is hard to listen to. I've seen this case before. But I've never heard the interrogation. I know everyone deals with grief differently. But to hear this dude so nonchalantly continue answering questions after learning his mom is dead. I could understand him not comprehending the gravity of the situation before, but learning one parent is dead and is still able to talk in the same tone? The detachment is spine chilling.
Thanks Annie for all the great and hard work you do for us and♥️ love from Sweden ♥️
"AJ's case is one of the most puzzling and heartbreaking stories I’ve come across. The combination of family tension, a cryptic note, and the inconsistencies in evidence make it feel like there’s more to the story than what meets the eye. It’s tragic to think about the devastating impact on this family, and yet, the lingering doubts about the investigation keep pulling me back to question the justice system's approach. This is not just a murder case-it’s a web of broken relationships and unanswered questions."
MERRY CHRISTMAS ANNIE!! We love and appreciate all you do for us, the victims and the families 🥹❤️ thank you so much for all your hard work.
One thing NO ONE MENTIONED...is at the end of AJ's 911 call he says " how did you get in our house? This is all my fault,"
So they didn’t look into the trafficking accusations the other guys died in a suspicious way and the gym was broken into and computers were stolen. Then they magically find blood on his shirt 7 years later after 2 hung juries. This is nothing but reasonable doubt. No proof of mental illness ect from AJ? This is just heartbreaking.
I got a feeling that AJ is a narcissist and that he is where he belongs, he don't seem to care that his parents are dead. He's only about himself
My stepmom of 37 years lost her only child, my half brother, in a car accident and never once shed a tear. I’ve been to other family’s funerals since his and have come to realize his death is the one that’s caused me to have no more feelings towards death. Since then I’ve come to understand why others don’t have any feelings about death.
This is very weird. One of the first cases in a long time where I can’t decide how I feel about the suspect’s guilt.
There’s enough reasonable doubt in my mind to find AJ not guilty. What a sad case.
What about mentioning his statement in the phone call …”IT’S ALL MY FAULT” ‼️
I agree
OK....I FOUND YOU!!! I made the same comment
I heard that too, it also sounds like he whispers “How did you get in the house” around the 17:05 mark. I knew I wasnt just hearing things
@@RyanWilliamsshere you are.. been looking for someone else to mention this! I honestly think these comments "how did you get in the house"? & "It's all my fault" was him actually talking to himself n didn't realize it was recorded.
We didn't hear the rest of that.
The loud ringing in his ears when speaking to 911. Major red flag! He did it.
Wow. Didn't catch that.
U must have missed that but it could also happen when you're in shock and panicking. If it was from a gun it would have lasted so idk... Hm
The saddest part is his parents tried to make him a good person when he still acted up, lied, and offed his parents. Justice was served his poor son will understand his selfishness when he is old enough
How many times can a person say “ultimately”. 😂😂
CAME HERE TO SAY THIS 😂
😂🤣😂
The whole interrogation was annoying. If we were doing shots, we'd be trashed by the end of his first couple sentences. The officer just seemed like he wasn't great with the interrogation side of his job.
As many times as Annie says literally in every one of her videos
The way you cover these cases, is just perfect. The cases😢 are well. Cases. However thank you for covering these cases, we LOVE YOU❤
So, in AJ's mind, his Mom and Dad are BOTH dead, but he seems calm as can be in his interview!! You would NEVER guess he is being interviewed after both of his parents were shot in the head.. We've heard some sketchy people on this channel, but AJ?! To be that cool and calm?! That's some next-level, ACTUAL, psychopath shit right there!! Unreal 😳
YES. I am so glad this was the first video on my feed this morning. I just got through a stomach flu and I'm finally feeling better- this makes it all the sweeter! Let's gooooooo
25:40 We didn’t have an alarm, but we had original oak wood floors throughout the house and when it’s dead silent middle of the night, a floor creak would reverberate through the whole house, because there was no carpet to dampen it, and wake my mom instantly. To this day I can still walk through the entire house silently because I know where every major creak in the floor is and know where to step to avoid the smaller ones- step slowly on the balls of your feet and stay close to the walls and heavy furniture. Lol
“Sports are everywhere” 😂 omg I fucking love you, Annie. I literally be saying the same type of shit and thinking about the same things lol. I hope you and your family had the best Christmas! Love youuuuu ❤
As for Josh being estranged from the family, I think it’s probably hard for him to see how his family threw him under a bus to try and get the focus off AJ. I don’t think there was enough evidence on the states burden of proof to convict him. It could very well have been AJ but again the jury must rely on facts, not opinions nor feelings.
I knew as soon as he said “it’s all my fault” in the 911 call that it definitely had to do with AJ. Sad 😢 24:20
I’m glad someone else noticed that too!
He did say that but he also said- How did you get in our house???? I immediately thought Drug Dealer or someone he owed $ to.
He could have said that cuz he didn't arm the door when he came home, and that's how the killer got in. It could have been related to his dad's gym all along. Just an idea.
@@karenbogucki2454that’s a good point!
@@i_am_whole_againI missed that so thank you.
Everyone acts differently to death. Im sure he was beyond shocked whether guilty or not. However I do believe there's far too much reasonable doubt for him to be convicted. I agree with the first juror. Innocence project is their best hope
Merry Christmas Annie Elise ❤
I heard this case a few years ago when I first got into true crime TH-cam and it grabbed my attention for so long .. forgot all about it glad you are covering it.
It’s a sad truth but sometimes it is not possible to prove beyond a reasonable doubt in court who committed a certain crime. There will be crimes that go unsolved and unpunished bc there just isn’t enough evidence. There will be suspicions but suspicion should not send a person to prison for 40 years.
💯
Rarely do I ever NOT have an immediate gut feeling, but this case really has me feeling mixed emotions. His interrogation at first seemed clear, guilty, but for some reason I cannot get behind the fact that there is essentially NO evidence!!!! It makes me sad he went through 3 trials only to be locked up for life. I cannot fully get on board that he is guilty because of the break-in and s*x ring. Great video annie 💘
Did anyone else see, during the 911 call, where it showed that AJ said toward the end of the call- How did you get in our house? It's all my fault.
Who would he be talking to? And why wasn't AJ questioned about WHO he said that to???
You would think that his defense team would have brought up what he said if there really had been someone in the house that AJ SPOKE TO during the 911 call.
I thought maybe he knew he left a door open
That was the first thing I thought
@@SarinaSazi My first thought, since it was known that he was dealing weed , was it was his supplier, that he probably owed $$$ to. He wouldn't have said it to Josh because until recently it was his home too. Sooooo WHO did he randomly say that to ? And why didn't anyone ever follow up or mention it during the interrogation process? Seems like the police dropped the ball on that since they were so focused on AJ.
I feel they should have looked into the break in and the other stuff that was brought up! It would be tragic to put the wrong person behind bars.
Happy, happy New Year, Annie!!!
Thank you so much for another spectacular year of the best true crime content!
♥️♥️♥️
Blessings to you & your family & all 10 to Lifers!!!! Thank you for keeping us true crime junkies jolly!
He played in the CFL, with the B.C. Lions and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, even played in the Grey Cup with the Blue Bombers. His career came to an end, when he got injured while playing for the Blue Bombers.
AJ is so casual about everything he is bumed out because his friends are doing things and he can't doesn't seem affected by his parents being murdered at all really strange behavior.
Hey Annie, for you to say that your Grandpa wasn’t your mom’s “real” dad cause she was adopted is just wrong. He may not have been her bio dad but he’s her REAL dad.
I think you’re missing the point she was trying to make. Lol.
No. There’s nothing wrong about it. You’re likely one of those people that says blood doesn’t make you family huh? When people refer to their real parent they are referring to their literal biological parent. Not their figurative parent.
There are a few things that look real bad for him. The alarm system on the house being armed (but the windows are not connected, so.....), the hole in his bedroom ceiling (and lying about it), and his being so calm in the interview (but, like you always say, everyone grieves differently). I saw some comments about his having no reaction to being told his mom was dead. I don't think that is a red flag because I think by the time this interview happened, he already knew that.
I think the sex ring angle needs looked into a lot harder. That robbery at the gym can't be a coincidence. Gyms aren't known for having a lot of money.
Thanks for the video I have had the worst Christmas and Birthday ever need the nice sound of your voice 😢
I'm sorry to hear that. I'm a bit depressed myself. But let's be positive, things will start to look better soon💜
Same here 😢
This has been the worst year for me no friends not all my family is happy together it just sucks
Sending you all love and light, in this dark world. I’m bedridden most days, due to my health, and I truly know what it’s like being down. I find solace in my art and sharing it with the world. Tomorrow, I pray that you all will take a walk through nature, for it is healing. 🌞💛🌻🌻✨✨✨✨🕊️
I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I hope Annie and the team take a much deserved break. AJ should be emotional if he was so close to his parents. How tragic for his sister and brother Josh to lose both parents and find out that your brother was the reason why your parents aren’t alive.
There is so much reasonable doubt in this case. So sad.
I was 12 years old when I finally found out that all of my older siblings, all 5, had a different father. I have no idea why my parents kept it a secret for so long but it really messed me up.
Ice runs through this kids veins. They told him that his mother didn't make it and he didn't react at all. Weird and suspicious.
Not at all weird or suspicious. My brother died tragically, and it was the next day when I reacted. It's very common for delayed reactions
@@lorainefleeman6011 I agree. My half brother died in a car wreck 12 years ago and my stepmom has never shed a tear. It was her only child to boot.
@lbjr777 She probably cries in private
Struggling with the fact that he tested negative for blood and GSR until they removed a sticker and found the smallest amount of blood. It doesn't seem right.
Love it when I see you popping up with a new video
Thanks Annie for all the hard work you put in to your channel sending ♥️ and festive greetings from 🇬🇧 👍
Soooo… I 100% agree with the juror who said she thinks the 3rd jury did not understand reasonable doubt. During the police interview I will admit I was suspicious of him… but as the case moved forward there are things that stick out to me.
#1 no blood or gun residue on him anywhere.
#2 if had attempted to clean himself versus call the police right away it seems his Dad probably would have passed away, to try and clean that thoroughly would take a lot of time.
#3 yes, the alarm was not disarmed, but to his parents’ point, it had been acting up, and what about a window?
#4 the sex ring is shady, obviously not a sure thing, but it seems there might have been some more nefarious things going on with Dad(?)
#5 Third trial and super suspicious DNA under the sticker but nowhere else???
I feel this all warrants a deeper look.
What is wrong with the freaking dispatcher??? Omg. A minor calling in for hearing gunshots in his parents room and you want him to confirm 17 times if you should send medical?! Wtf and his minor sister was there. Like what did she want him to do walk around and possibly get shot himself? Repeating his phone number?
Good morning Annie!! Hope you had a Good Christmas 🎄
19:26 nope, my first thought is that the son who called 911 is the one who did it. Reason being, when the dispatcher asked if he heard anything else, he said “just like this loud high pitch noise”.
Pressing play again now to see if I end up being right.
Even when you give him some grace things don’t add up.
I’m sure he’s guilty, but there is so much reasonable doubt. I wouldn’t be able to find him guilty.
New merch "Sports are everywhere" 😂❤❤
Is sport it! 😅
Telling the story, when he doesn't use the word "like" he's telling more of the truth, but when he uses the work like a lot! He is lying
Merry Christmas and happy new to Annie and the team and to us all true crime besties ❤❤❤
Same to you! ❤
Did I miss it or was there nothing said about whether or not it was Antonio's gun that killed him and Dawn?? A gun was left behind but whose was it?
Props to the dispatcher because I have on AirPods and cannot understand AJ
Don’t call urself stupid!! Sports leagues can be confusing for ppl who don’t really follow them. Pretty much everywhere has a professional basketball and soccer league but ONLY the U.S. and Canada have a pro football league! Love ur shows! Keep it up!
Did they not do a handwriting analysis on the note and AJs handwriting?
There's a lot more to this case than ever has come out. I'm not 100% convinced AJ is guilty because the investigators never even considered any other suspects. They laser focused on AJ as the only one from the beginning. Somethings weird about those computers being stolen.
I don't believe I could have found this boy guilty. There was a ton of reasonable doubt
My siblings and I were all adopted. We knew from the time we were old enough to understand that. I had my first child with my ex. When I married my husband, he adopted my son when he was five years old. Our son had some growing pains when he was a teenager, and said that my husband didn't love him as much as his younger siblings, but eventually, he realized that wasn't true. Today, he's just as close, if not closer to my husband than our younger kids.
❤
Without question, AJ is a pathological liar. And, imo, a sociopath. It took a while but I 💯 believe the jury got it right.
He never says he didn't do it. He says "they have nothing". He gives guilty vibes, no feelings for parents death just self concern.
Yea. Like he says "false conviction" rather that wrongly convicted.
