- Are you a console R6 player who wants to become an R6 champion? Well to become an R6 champion (even while SoloQ) you need to THINK like an R6 champion. I knew there were some differences between console and pc, but I didn’t realize how different. It sounds like you could potentially do a vid talking about which ops are better on console and which are worse, maybe even a console tier list.

On console you have to turn on nightmode otherwise you cant hear shit
I run nightmode on headset and it's almost like having wall hacks lol

It's really subjective high fi is best for my headset and it sounds way better than nightmode but my ears are also shit so it helps me hear way better

@Croftty I'm at a bigger disadvantage than most I've had multiple ear surgeries so my hearing is complete shit without having my audio so loud it hurts I feel like over the years my sound cues got better but it's definitely more game sense that I've acquired some small sound cues especially footsteps is still to this day nonexistent almost just how bad my hearing is now
Welcome to console, it plays very different to PC. I play both, but primarily console. Some key things you’ll learn while on vacation are the gunplay and playstyle overall being different.
Vertical recoil is so much easier to handle with the right attachments and sensitivity. You can almost negate it entirely with any op that has a foregrip, because of this the choice between flash hider and compensator can be the opposite of what you’re used to on PC.
The best thing you can do to improve your aim is to get in the firing range and play with the advanced controller settings. Ken1Chan has a great video that explains some of the math.
I’m sure you noticed from this game but console ranked is played much more aggressively. Even at the higher ranks, the objective will fall to the side and players will ego-push for kills to win rather than focus on getting the plant.
If you see more than 3 Xbox players on one team, it’s safe to assume they came to party together and are probably in a party so can’t hear game chat.

Make sure that you make your audio setting- headset. This resets to digital every time I play tho

console players pretty much go everyone, but you’ll almost always have an ash, twitch, warden, mozzie, or cav on ur team.

Twitch is used alot for getting breach, a good caveira can make a game, warden counters glaz ying and everything that flashes (amazing for insta plant denial), mozzie is good for intel as if its a good mozzie main u have extra cams. Ashes are just egotistical kids but ash can counter mira and break alot of utility when not dead instantly. Wamai is pretty much useless when u can get a jager which is 1000x better, dokkaebi is amazing for sound queues and when paired with an iq u basically have walls (most of the ppl that main these still dont have brains)
i thought it was just me when i cant hear people literally walking straight at me or it sounds like its coming from somewhere else it just started doing this this season

This makes me feel so much better as a console player. I’ll watch pc players and they act like they hear every little detail and then I’ll play and not hear the same things they do.

@Poxonlox I’d highly recommend switching controller layout to evolved bumper shooter, it improved my aim and reaction time since you shoot and aim with bumpers and lean with triggers while ads, crouch set to right joystick click like conventional tactical layout

If you are playing on xbox a thing to help with hearing is a setting in the xbox menu. If you go into settings then volume and audio output and go to additional options and turn off the MONO setting you can hear left and right as MONO combines sound into one headphone.
Hifi sound is the way to go. If you use night mode, it will increase sound, but it will be harder to tell where it is coming from.
A few comments from a lifelong console gamer: 1) Certain headsets have Microphone Monitoring so you can hear yourself. 2) Surround sound headsets can give you a degree of directionally, but its more of an adapted sense the longer you do it. 3) you're still a beast on console because of your experience.

I've played on consol since beta and while sound was an issue for simingly the whole first half of the games life I disagree with what he's saying about directional audio
Night mode is the way on console
13:40 i feel like thats a seriously overlooked aspect of console, how to actually communicate with your team. For example I had a game the other day where for the first 4 rounds i thought my teammates werent calling out or listening to me but i was in an xbox party so couldnt hear game chat 😂 we'd been trying to talk to each other the whole time. Being in a party also means you can't communicate with PS players either becuase theres no way to speak unless youre in game chat.

Yeah, I definitely have directional audio, but sometimes vertical audio is tricky.

Directional audio on ps5 is ok better than xbox but playing on controller i will admit its a better experience on xbox

You say can’t hear: hifi is great for headphones that can hear small sounds and directional sounds, night mode great for a lot of people to hear more footsteps

Sounds on consoles are the same as PC, maybe smth with your settings idk, i hear everything with my logitec g pro headset. Dont take my word as proof, watch how pro controller players play like Jynxy.
And what do u mean there is no recoil on console? I am pretty sure I watched how u cant control it on smg and vector. Its same why would it be different from pc lol. It seems to me there are a lot of things u just assume.
Most guns you don't have to pull down at all, that's not the case on PC

This might sound crazy but I actually play significantly better on Hi-Fi than Night Mode. I think it has to do with focus and info processing bias in the brain, I end up not being able to hear what I want to hear when it's too compressed
I play Valkyrie, and iana, but if I want to play with lmg, IQ, you should do vs advanced ai with your stack/solo a lot, and do shooting range against the dummies from different modes, roam, and support, and use thatcher if bad aim and want to play support,I would be willing to recommend settings to help you, and do arcade a lot. And ask your console viewers for help

Sound isn’t worse on console you probably just have your headset settings wrong. Mine was like that till I fixed the setting

Using controller on pc makes the recoil like it would be on console

if you want to fix the hearing problem you can go to ps5 and go to the headphone settings and maje it 3d, it is defuakt but just incase
How does the mobility stat work? Do you run faster with a 45 pistol but 35 lmg is slower? How does that work?
That last Fuze charge launch was exactly what you'd expect from a video called "How to Think like a CONSOLE R6 Champion". Though it would have been great if it was launched just to deny the defuse.
TBH we've all been there, sometimes the autopilot controlling us is a dumdum.
This is amazing. If you are going to be playing a lot more, consider getting control freaks. Every competitive console player uses them for a reason. Your aim will instantly get better and it makes higher sensitivity’s feel comfortable

Your directional audio issue could be because you are using a headset that is made for pc not xbox.
Pox is the goat siege trainer. There’s a castle play on 2f border that I got from on of your vid’s yeeeeaaars ago. I still do it off an on, probably stronger now.
I think one of the most important tips I have for console, is to play operators that give you information early. Conseke doesn't get the reaction time that pc gets, so give yourself more time/information helps a lot.

Great video! I use Night Mode and Dolby Atmos, there's a 14-day trial on the Xbox. I'm curious on your thoughts and if Atmos helps you hear directional footsteps better.
