You could defo combine a sustainable fashion company with a humanitarian cause! For instance, donating a percentage of your profit to a good cause, having a buy-1-give-1 scheme : eg buy 1 t-shirt for yourself and donate one to someone in need, or clothes swap : the ability to send your disused clothes to your company in return for a discounted shopping experience, the clothes sent in could then be up-cycled or sent to people in need.
The only issue is that those kinds of companies are really hard to maintain financially. You’d have to charge quite a lot more than other sustainable fashion companies which are already expensive as it is but I for one would still like to see it happen!!!

So jealous of how connected the UK is to places like Europe, it’s SO expensive to travel as a student in the US since we’re so disconnected from the world in a sense Def feel you about the drinking, I had a bad experience and it’s put me off a lot but I’ve found I like having one or two drinks rather than the getting drunk culture of university
I live in Germany, right on the border to France, and while the borders were closed during corona (they just reopened them) I suddenly realised how normal it was for me and my friends to go to France for a day or even just for an evening
Tbh it’s best on mainland Europe because you can get cheap trains/buses to other countries but here in the U.K. you would have to allow at least three days to visit a nearby country(it also depends on how much comfort you’re willing to give up). However I was always so jealous of the US because you could just get in the car and go to L.A or New York 😂 now idk
@@jay-ts8ux yes, the relationship between France and Germany is (at least nowadays) really good but I think where I live (close to Strasbourg which is a city in a region called Alsace) it's especially great and it's completely normal to make a bike tour to France or walk over a bridge to France to go shopping. This might also has to do with the fact that many institutions of the European Union are located in Strasbourg (there is a very european feeling here if that makes sense) and the Alsace is historically quite close to Germany since it was both German and French in the past :)

the job thing really resonated with me. I've worked consistently since I was 16 and hate asking my parents for money, and no one else in my group has ever really worked. It sits a bit funny with me that everything they do is funded by their parents and they are perfectly capable of getting jobs (obviously its different if you actually can't work due to illness, other responsibilities!)

You don’t have to have a wedding to get married! I totally understand your perspective on it, but just sayin, you can get married in a registry office with 2 witnesses, which is what my mum & dad did. They got married for religious reasons, because it’s like a promise between themselves and God to stay with each other. But it’s definitely a personal thing depending on what you believe and want ❤️
Here in Sweden where I live it’s such a norm to not get married! We instead call it “sambo” and it’s essentially the same as a marriage if not more of a personal agreement between two partners.

i’m 19 now and i always wanted to work as a teenager but anxiety & depression just got the better of me - i always overthought about how i’d be too depressed to go into work one day and i’d eventually lose the job anyway; i was also really anxious about job interviews, messing up, not knowing what to say, going into shops and asking for vacancies etc - i get you about having stability and financial independence but anxiety always has and still does get the better of me when i think about applying for jobs. i wish i got one when i was younger as no one will hire me through lack of experience haha

morningside road is also really good for charity shops in edinburgh! there are about 7 or 8 shops there and it’s not far from the centre of town if you cycle or get a bus :) x

girl I feel you with uni grades lol.. I think the marking at uni is SO much more subjective than school.. I'm just finishing my masters now and my grades have ranged from 54 to 78 even though how hard I've worked has been very consistent - definitely important not to attach worth to grades so glad you brought that up!x
