Before you claim that the Swedish military is slow and untrained for combat. Please read what Hemvärnet is. Its not the professional army. Here is a short text taken from wikipedia "The Home Guard - National Security Forces (Swedish: Hemvärnet - Nationella skyddsstyrkorna) is a military reserve force of the Swedish Armed Forces. It was formally established in May 29th, 1940, during World War II upon popular demand.[1] While originally composed of former militia groups, today it comprises half of the Swedish Army, thus constituting the basis of the military defence force of Sweden. The Swedish National Home Guard consists of mainly local rapid countermeasure units of 22,000 strength, organised in 300 companies in 70 battalions,[2] with 23 associated auxiliary defence organisations. The majority of the soldiers maintain a civilian job while serving the army part-time. Contemporary rapid countermeasure units were formed in the early 2000's as a consequence of the Swedish government's abolishment of the conscription to the Swedish Armes Forces."
As a Sergeant ive been in the homeguard for about 18 years and id say that it´s hard to find more motivated soldiers then those who joins the homeguard. The wast majority has had military training in the conscriptsystem, many did service abroad experienced soldiers and veterans who brings valuable knowledge to share. The officers often sprouts from different branches of the defensive forces wich means that the soldiers gets a wide knowledge of different weaponsystems and tacticts. In my unit we got instructors/ officers from the Airborne, Rangers, Coastalhunters, Marines etc. There are exercises where speed and accuracy is important, and there are excercises where there is no hurry, just getting to know the system and the tools we have to work with.
I'm personally in the home guard and you do not want to underestimate old timers, when we were on patrol with dogs, one guy who was like 60 years literally tracked down a saboteur in the forest with his sense of smell based on the hair product she was using. That guy was a fucking legend. And we had dogs mind you who somehow did not mark their presence.
NorthlandShooter, I am grateful for these videos you put up. The sounds are fantastic even if they don't sound exactly like the real sounds. And I can appreciate the work the Swedish do.
About the reloading, Some supperiors do it kneeling or proning, and some standing up, no one has told me either is wrong. The strap issued with the weapon is from a Mauser rifle from the 1930s I belive and it's rubbish compared to todays standards. As long as no supperiors object to the use of a second market strap, I see no reason to change it. Further more, I belive the straps used are what will eventually replace the old Mauser straps. Thanks for your commant, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
@fnissekassa Yes you are right. This is not the regular armed forces with young soldiers. It's the Swedish home-/nationalguard. Volontary soldiers with civilian full time jobs that do military exersise at some weekends per year. The age is around 20-60 but most of them around 30-45. Yes you
@AKM5152 We probably could buy our own, but what's the point if we're going to get one from the Military anyway? We do take most of our gear home, including the weapon (when it's possible) although it's locked with a specially designed AK4-lock and our superiors keep the key at the end of each exercise.
Hos oss samlas inga nycklar in än så länge.
@Hansson333 Possible reasons why the AK4s are not being replaced by the AK5s: The Swedish Armed Forces are getting a new main battle rifle in ca 2016 and so they do not want to change the Homeguards current weapon since they'd have to train the soldiers for a weapon they're not going to use for very long. Plus all the 7.62 ammo is already in the local areas where the Homeguard operate and it would add to the expense to ship 5.56 ammo out around the country. Just a guess though.
Zukatsr125 The question is a translation from Swedish in the video, thus within quotation marks. And it is a funny question, where should the smoke be otherwise?
Fredo Sinsemilla He was joking as the others teased him for shooting the shortest. By saying what he said, he hinted to them that its better to shoot short than to overshoot the enemies and have the smoke land behind them. It's supposed to be between them, therefore a short shot is okay! ;)
You quoted it wrong to begin with, "Instructor - He shot shortest of them all haha." "Fellow soldier - I think there is one shorter then his" "Soldier who shot the last smoke -The smoke is supposed to be between the enemy and us or.. thought so." (saying it in a way as he didnt do anything wrong by shooting short which the instructor and a fellow soldier joked about) Had to clean the sloppy translation up.
@AKM5152 I believe the x4 optic came into service about the same time as the AK5 and the Aimpoint came after that in much larger quantities. The Aimpoint was procured to facilitate faster and easier aiming then the standard Iron-sights. I've heard rumors that a magnifier is on the way to complement the Aimpoint however, but I'm probably just getting my hopes up for nothing.
Like AstraDoor said the Ak 4:Swedish-made version of the G3A3, with a buttstock that is approx 2 cm longer, the bolt carrier has a serrated thumb groove to aid in silent bolt closure and fitted with a heavy buffer. The AK4B in the vid and are only used by the swedish homeguard, the diffrens between AK4(G3) and AK4B is on the AK4B iron sights have been removed, and replaced with a Aimpoint CS red-dot reflex sight mounted on a permanently mounted picatinny rail.
@AKM5152 No, most soldiers never even get trained to use the Glock 17 that is used by the Swedish Armed Forces. Concealed carry is only legal in Sweden for the Police and SÄPO (Swedish Security Police) as far as I know.
Or what we English called in WW2 'Dad's Army', the name of a 1970's English television comedy series poking fun at this force in an English kind of way. However, looks like you guys are serious, well equipped and very well trained. Keep up the good work -Putin is very sinister!
I write everything in english so that people from other countries then Sweden can understand what is said in the comments. I hope by doing so it will get my channel more views in the long run.
Thanks for the nice video. At 3:13 the first man in the shooting line use the G3 or AK4 (differences?). Is this the standart infantry rifle? Greetings from Germany
I'm quite certain the PSG90 is a modified version of the British weapon (Common for the Swedish military, take an existing weapons system and upgrade it to their specifications.)
They use the AK4 b, it's a modified G3A3 the visible differences are few. And no, it's only standard for the national guard in comparison the standard for the rest of the armed forces is the AK5 b(or c), Modified FN FNC between which the visible differences are more clear. Sorry for the late answer hope it's answered what you wanted to know.
@Hansson333 According to my sources, the Swedish Armed Forces haven't even started the weapons trails yet. Rumor has it that it will be the HK 417, that is the 7.62mm version of the HK416. But again, that's just rumors...
"AVBRYT eld upphör" is only used in case of iminent danger. For example if someone or something walks into the line of fire. Normally it's simply "Eld upphör".
Thanks for answering! I'm kinda intressed in the Swedish Armed Forces, so i'm going to one of the summercamps at F7 in Såtenäs, and therefore have I found you'r vids interesting! (Varför snackar vi på engelska? xD)

All our gear, clothing, equipment and weapons are provided by the Swedish Armed Forces. If you're interested in the military then I suggest you join the Hemvärnsungdom when you're old enough.
If you look at some of the comments on my videos you will see that there are many English-speaking people that leave comments. I also get comments in Russian, Thai, Arabic, Spanish and so on. A very interesting video, Someone linked it to me to specifically show the smoke grenades fired from the AK4.
Was the guy, near the beginning with the KSP 58, carrying a Mora 2000 knife on his belt?
väldigt bra film
Thanks! I'll be uploading another video next week so keep an eye out for it, I think it'll be a good one!
Thanks for uploading!I'm joining Pilgrims Ungdoms regemente next year :)
bra video
While shooting the KSP 58, why does the shooter hold his lleft hand against the stock? to prevent recoil? Love your videos btw
@britishfetishman101 In some cases, yes. I met a Spaniard last year who was in the Swedish Homeguard.
Could be rainpants yes. At what time did you see them?
The PSG90 is a modified L96A1, the PSG90 is also called L96A1AW, AW stands for Artic Warfare.
@TheLordArion
Det är den gamla grg'n. Läs en gång till nästa gång.
Yes. The PSG90 is also called L96A1 AW :)

Indeed I did! At I19, Boden Artillery Battalion First Platoon. Good times... Good luck with your GSU!
what are some swedish guns?
They use the AK4 b, it's a modified G3A3 the visible differences are few. And no, it's only standard for the national guard in comparison the standard for the rest of the armed forces is the AK5 b(or c), Modified FN FNC between which the visible differences are more clear.

@Grrrr8sk8 Its AK4B(HK G3) with aimpoint(red dot sight)
Är det ak4:or de har, varför inte ka5?
@NorthlandShooter
To keep it simple?
Post the link of where is says so on the Swedish Armed Forces homepage and I will change accordingly.
@Hansson333 According to my sources, the Swedish Armed Forces haven't even started the weapons trails yet. Rumor has it that it will be the HK 417, that is the 7.62mm version of the HK416. But again, that's just rumors...
I believe that the British Royal Marines use the Carl Gustav as their main infantry anti tank weapon, too.
This is a good crack -wish I was 25 again and not 46 so I could take part!
On the english version Swedish Armed Forces homepage they refer to "Hemvärnet" as "The Home Guard".
"AVBRYT eld upphör" is only used in case of iminent danger. For example if someone or something walks into the line of fire. Normally it's simply "Eld upphör".

@simontheplayer More to keep it as economically sound as possible.
Less ammunition types = less expensive.
Är det luftvapen eller riktiga?
@ParkourEh Very likely, yes.
***** the swedish army mau not be that big but they are not pussies we have ivented almost everything that the US army have and you cant compare the US with Sweden because US is a much bigger continent then sweden

@britishfetishman101 I am not certain about the specifics, but I would imagine so.
The PSG 90 is a Accuracy International rifle.
vart befinner ni er. är ni ute på kusträsk eller?
Psg 90 is a further development from the british L96A1 av Accuracy Internationa
Jag ska oxå dit! :)
@NorthlandShooter I'm a part of the HvU Sannahed, and I've heard that too. Shooting witk an HK417 would be nice. The weapon jam exercise would probably dissapear =P
Yeah, I know. I got mixed up. Hope you liked the video!
"son of a bitch" "Gooood damnnn"
Dont Mess with Sweden? o.o hehe Bra Film
Ahh, sound of ksp 58
I've heard that it's because the Home Guard is only suppose to have two types of ammunition; the 7.62mm NATO and the 9mm.
No, no and no! It is STILL the modified G3 known as the AK4B. The AK5 is not yet introduced into the national guard.
All our gear, clothing, equipment and weapons are provided by the Swedish Armed Forces. If you're interested in the military then I suggest you join the Hemvärnsungdom when you're old enough.
lyssna vid 09:07 "Son of a bit-h" och vid 09:20 "god damn" xP
bra video :)
@britishfetishman101
Yes!
My dad is from Boden ^^
The ak5 is a swedish weapon :)
@slashislashi Well it's been like this for years now. And we're no more special then any other group.
Like the title says; "Swedish Homeguard Exercise". So all of these men are volunteers and have civilian jobs most days.
holy fuck i would shit my pants if someone would aim a carl gustav at me
Varför gör du dina klipp på engelska?
I do my videos in English so that more people can watch the video and understand what I'm saying.

Do they SOUND like airguns to you? =)
Where do I have irregular pants? While you're at it -define what you consider to be "regular pants".
It's actually common for swedes to implement international weapons and then perfecting it :)
@NorthlandShooter HK416/417 is a realy nice weapon want one asap :D
