We had rather violent storms and tornadoes. --- I drove myself and my Hellions to an underground bunker.
When it's raining, Apollo, my German Shepherd, will charge right out to do his potty, but my little boy Toto, I actually need to hold an umbrella over him or he'll just stare at me like ....... ' NOT gonna happen Ma !! ' 😆
Very pretty countryside. Glad you had that day recreation spot to retreat to. That card was too funny and locally appropriate considering you had just seen the bear reminder! Greer looks like a cool and pleasant town. IMO, this trip is healthy and exciting for you. Enjoy!

Candy necklaces! I remember wearing those and riding bikes or running around and sweating and the candy melting on our necks, and we didn't care!! We were free of school and it was summer!!

I love northern AZ. We used to spend summers there. The monsoons are fun.
If your still in Greer, Your not to far from Big Lake which is higher up the country road all well maintained roads. And then there's the back roads drive to Alpine and Hannigan meadows. It's all beautiful country. I grew up in the White Mountains.
Winter here in New Zealand and it's sunny and warm here. This poor old planet is all upside down.

Really beautiful area. Thanks for sharing. I love the chipmunks. We used to vacation in northern Minnesota and the chipmunks were so friendly, they'd crawl up our arms and around our necks. My kids loved them. They named one Fred. He was missing a paw and the next year he was still there.
It's really hot here now in south NM and storms are coming into many areas of NM coming up this week.

How do you download shows onto your laptop? You have to be in wifi to upload or download? I’m preparing for my road trip
I always get carded. 😂 I download movies onto my Samsung Galaxy tablet using WiFi.
Did you have to pay anything for your dispersed camping? And what were your fees to get into Thompson Trail? I heard that to get into see the waterfalls I forget the name, it’s $30 per person per day. It sounds to me like Greer is fairly expensive. I still want to go there it’s really a ‘cool’ place! Right now I could use cool! It is so hot in Payson
My camping was free and so was the trail.
