Dance Background: I tried 2 years of Hip Hop, tried doing competitions but it was back then. Also, tried cheer dancing for a brief moment but I stopped to focus on academics. My dance background is actually minimal but since I love analysing stuffs, I get to do these types of videos. I'm not sure if I will go back to dancing after this pandemic (I hope so)

I love the choreography so much! I'm enjoying the song bc of the choreography if I'm being honest. Here's my thoughts on each member:
Jinni
Facial expressions are varied. It's good she's enjoying herself while dancing.
Movements are dynamically interesting in each section
Has a distinct sense of style (Groovy dancer)
Great Musicality (Accents beats/synths/bass)
Isolations seems developed
Impressive lower area coordination
Seamless transitions
Energy are well-distributed
Since she seems to be refined as a dancer, I'm gonna be a bit nitpicky 😂
Power projection could be better
She's good and stable in pops, she just needs to put more strength.
Her facials are versatile but it lacks intensity (sometimes)
2:04 - occasional inconsistency in leg work
Her issues with arm lines are fixed tho' she could apply more clarity or sharpness to it

I think the best thing about her dancing is her clean arm lines
Beginnings of fluidity esp through her torso (1:05, 2:40)
She can do leg works decently (her footwork is actually good)
Has no weird habits in her dancing
Her transitions are smooth
Her timing and dynamics might be better once she enhance her control
As someone I'd expect from short limbs, her leg angles can come off unclear at times.
Lily
What can I expect from jype's main vocal's stage presence?
She puts effort with her projection
Surprisingly good footwork
Decent Isolations.
No issues with transitions
Early executions (Messy musicality)
Her extensions could do some work

She's also a good performer
Very clean body lines (I think this is her best aspect)

She fairly catches intricate details

Her sense of rhythm is surprisingly confusing given that she's done other style

~ I don't have much to say tbh. I can give points for her efforts in her body lines, her extensions are so good from a lengthy proportion. I also think she's aware with her timing, sadly she sometimes rushes and can be unclear with her timing (she can fix this with good coordination). Her stage presence could be better too.
Sullyoon
~ I actually think she did better than I expected lol. Her timing and lines are there. I think she has one of the least (if not the least)developed body control within the group. She struggles with poor coordination as well.
~ they're still rookies yet they displayed their talents & skills very well and shown big potential in the future. I'm very excited for the growth of this group!

Jinni stood out most for me. She's professionally delicate to every moves and such a great dancer I love seeing her dance
Two things I like about Jinni:
1. Her facial expressions, she literally enjoys dancing! Even during the darker parts of the song, she can’t help but smile!
2. She has the best footwork, they’re not just on point but she adds subtle details, meaning she even adds an extra half step to them.

@@izonexbae Yes, for dance styles that are similar to open style and hip hop it is, if you're taller than the average of your group you probably also have longer limbs, which are harder to control, resulting in coordination issues, hence why many tall idols look lanky and awkward (example: Tzuyu from Twice has this problem)
I can see Jinni having a developed musicality by accent the beats with drops and nice resistence. And also adding details with her hands, shoulders and foot to match the beats.

Kyujin is literally main dancer material. She's the youngest, but having the powerful in her skills. Don't underestimate this girl, she will become BIG. JYP is so lucky when having her. Jjang Kyujin
If u look closely don't bash me for this but I find Lily as the weakest they are all main and lead dancer materials and also in itzy I find lia as the weakest.

You know the saying, jack of all trades, master of none, nothing wrong with that, but when you treat it like the standard, and refuse to accept the masters of one who may just be okay at best in other areas, you become a problem. Let people specialise in their own areas, you don't have to be good at everything

Kyujin and haewon stood out to me the best. Haewon has great torso, isolations, popping, balance, and just chef kiss idk lol. Kyujin, Damn man, her body lines. Flexibility, balance, torso, dynamics. Why was I so stunned lmao.

3. She's naturally groovy which is rare esp in the pool of female dancers.

since haewon is a main/lead vocal and already this good i wonder where she would be if she focused more on dance as a trainee. obviously all trainees learn dance but she probably focused more on vocal than perfecting her dance like the dance line would of. she is so crazy talented

I feel like the position that are given for them just for separate them into 3 subunits
1. The trio (jinni,kyujin,jiwoo), dance focused
2. The duo (haewon,lily), vocal focused
3. Another duo(sullyoon,bae), balance
I think haewon and lily are the ace duo, since they are great dancers, Lily 5th best in the group and Haewon the best, the best vocalists, their stage presence is also great, visuals are stunning and their rap wasnt showed yet

kyujin's body control is so amazing 😭😭
Before debuting, Kyujin is the most underrated among 3 (dance line) but you can see her improvement here (the member having the most correct moves here). She just only 15 so she has a large environment to improve although her dancing is amazing now. I believe that She'll become one of the best performers in the 4th gen with her dancing, vocal, rap and stage presence
She was literally one of the most popular members since pre debut, she was so hyped up It was tiring. People are crazy about baby faces

Im actually really surprised haewon isn't on the dance line, she has the best angles on the group and her moves are just amazingly clean and detailed, the only problem I see from her is that she looks a little stiff in some movements, and she has tendecy to underdance. Also she could work a little bit more on her isolations, other than that she is a great dancer!
feel like she isn’t that stiff but definitely under dancing is present. she focuses a lot more on getting the moves right and executing them cleanly which i love and honestly prefer to dancers who have good energy but have very sloppy moves
@@kledi3817 yeah maybe she just looks a little stiff to me due to her underdancing tendencies, but that doesnt change the fact that her movements are the cleanest and most detailed of the group and I love that, if she just put a little more power on some movements and improve a little bit her facials expressions, she would be basically the best dancer in the group

About Jiwoo, I really think she's struggling with balance. In their weekly idol performance, I noticed how she loses balance in the baile baile part (chorus) and other parts. Plus 2:35, I'm so amazed by her upper body movement here. She's so cool there and I agree that she's the best in this part.
i think that she dances really well but i think that in the weekly idol performance they were saying that she was nervous
i just want to add my own comments about the group. their performance quality is SO high and i'm so excited for them.
jinni. this girl is an ACE what are you kidding me about? you're telling me a girl this good has a supported range and a personal dance style and can rap? her groove and waves in thunderous were crazy and only i can dream to keep those consistent waves. she also never misses details in the lower area its like mushing together chaerry lia and yeji together
lily and haewon im confident would get 70+ in kddd's ranking. both have jihyo energy and if they were consistent they can make nmixx's dance line great.
bae is the tall dancer we never knew we needed. great awareness of shape and extension, detailed movements, never faltering presence, i love her

I've only noticed until you pointed out Jiwoo's stunt, it must've really hurt for her.. I really hope that she'll learn to execute it correctly too
maybe Jiwoo knows what she's doing and has a way of distribute her weight that makes it not being as painful or hurtful as it looks, I mean she's one of NMIXX best dancer and if it hurt her she would've done it differently, not to mention JYP is really picky with dancing so they would've corrected her, I think she does it in a more impactful/impresisve way because she's at the center

when i first saw jiwoo doing that move I thought she was just doing it wrong, but she's such a good dancer, why would she get this wrong? Then i thought maybe she could be moving into position, as you can see, she alines very well with the girls
In my opinion, I think Kyujin did this move 2:30 the best because of how she jumps and then pops as she lands. It looks so cool and satisfying.
she's a bit tense in that part, too much tension and strength applied but i get where you're coming from.
also, my picks for that part was either Haewon and Jinni. It's them bc they're less tense. I picked Jinni cause she jumped way higher and her pops was less tense, same with Haewon.

jinni is SO good that to even make her bad you have to nitpick her so much. kyujin is slaying and if she proves more consistency then she may be main dancer material. lily is sooo groovy and surprisingly quite detailed while maintaining decent fluidity, kind of like jihyo right now but more relaxed- they struggle with the same issues. haewon was also quite good over all, and BAE. bae just surprised me so much, she has good extensions and shape awareness that with more dance content i feel she would be able to be proven better. sullyoon is still good despite being the worst. jiwoo... compared to her hype im sorry im just wishing she would loosen up a bit.
im not sure nmixx is the best dance group among ggs but im overall so stoked for the new dancers this year!! trainee a has jj and james soon who i think are really solid and nmixx has jinni (the best open style dancer in jyp) and an overall balanced dance line. if you've seen trainee a content what do you think of them?
i also agree with you regarding jiwoo doing the we'll win part,, my back starts to hurt whenever i see her do that. I hope she executes it correctly next time

I’m glad you mentioned about Jiwoo.. I was also concerned at the first time i watch the dance practice, she is literally slamming her legs into the floor.. Maybe because she want to catch up to the tempo

I love the choreography but im a bit worry about this part 2:26 i feel like it can be dangerous for their backs, considering that they have to repeat it many times
they'll surely change it bc if not + the wardrobe + the mic + literally the stunt itself is hard to pull off and could injure our girls.
Literally Jiwoo always slammed herself when she's doing that choreo. I'm very worried especially when i first saw her fancan in weekly idol. I literally thought girlie would break her bone. On the other hand, i thought it might in the choreo to move her legs while doing that because others would make advance movement to like Kyujin to Jiwoo and then at the back of Jiwoo she would blocked Jinni if she didn't move. While that dance move are amazing it's not that good that they will always do it, they need to change it. We know that Jiwoo is very flexible but slamming herself always will give her a bruise.
@Soggy bread i'm sure they would change it at least on their 2nd week promotion.. just like ITZY Dalla Dalla back then.. their intense head spinning with twercking is changing on their 2nd week promotion if i'm not mistaken..

I think Jinni has the charisma and enjoy dancing the most, but technique-wise, Kyujin is the best among them. precise and fluid movement, also great control. But I dont know about freestyle, their groove hasn't shown yet. still Idol-like type.
But the way they serve us this fascinating choreo. Amazingg!!
being able to naturally groove is such a hard technique that no other member could except jinni. I feel like y'all are always, "oh this is a performer but this girl is good at technique" like why can't be BOTH? Kyujin and Jinni has BOTH!
@@felixprism about the kpop dance myths, it would be so good. like the "centered on fluidity" argument, the "main vocal and good performer phobia", the "interchangeability of dance style techniques", etc.
@@funnymushroomhehe the "centered on ___" actually started with OTS (cmiiw) which is kinda smart at first but then many stans just keep throwing these terms all over the place. I just saw a comment here saying "jinni is a more powerful dancer that's why kyujin has better technique" when jinni isn't even a power-centered dancer and even if she is, power and strength IS a technique in dance.

I know that maybe it's late for this vid but Hello!!! For people who seeing this comment, don't forget this rolling body part of Haewon in 2:39. Actually if you watch carefully, maybe you will see that lower parts of Haewon are more flexible than her upper parts. In her beginning part, she nailed it :v !!
