@@JackLucasCaffreySheena Easton got famously booed by the audience when she returned to perform in Glasgow affecting a Californian twang instead of the Scottish accent she had at the beginning of her career
Yeah that tends to happen. While a person's accent is highly influenced in their early years and "solidified" around the age of twelve, it is not actually set in stone. A person's way of speaking continues to be influenced by the people around them. Super interestingly, a unique accent has developed over decades in Antarctica among scientists from many different backgrounds working there. Def recommend looking up Antarctic English, super interesting!
?? I instantly knew they were English Maybe it's because I'm English but their accent is instantly identifiable, I wouldn't have even known they'd been in North America had they not said they moved to Canada.
@mumemic it's definitely strange and depends on how immersed you get in the culture. My brother lived in England for just 2 years and picked up a weird hybrid southern American/English accent bc he was working exclusively with English ppl. The funny thing was he couldn't even hear it himself and assumed he was talking the same as ever.
I'm just blown away by how kind and thankful they are, and how eager they are to restore these songs for us. I really hope I hear Ulterior Motives and Love is an Emotion on the radio soon. Id love for these to go viral and everyone hear their music. How such wonderful music goes lost to time is baffling to me. This is such an amazing story
Unfortunately, lots of great songs get lost overtime, but "Ulterior Motives" being found proves that there's songs out there waiting to be found again. (Edit: changed the word "and" to "but")
They found **22** Ulterior Motives-type songs in the vault?! Hot-damn, hearing any of them would be a treat. What a great interview and so much insight into their creative works and process. Very cool to know how prolific these guys are, keen to check out their other works in TV etc. Thank you @JackLucasCaffrey for conducting this.
I'm glad too because as I said in the interview, as long as I've known of them I don't ever remember Christopher's middle name being "David". I hope they get that fixed!
These two seem like such genuine and nice people. I’m glad this search ended in a funny and great way. Loved the interview, and the booth brothers seem like amazing musicians too!
I love how they didn't talk down their projects but still managed to be humble about it :)) it's a hard balance to be confident about your work while not being cocky. I hope everything goes well and the summer release is a success!! And a live show would be totally sick!
Thank you for sharing this interview. These guys are officially Legends now....Id happily pay for my copy of 'Ulterior Motives" when it comes out, these guys need the recognition they deserve. If you read this Chris and Phil.....YOU TWO ARE ACE AND BRILLIANT.....ROLL ON THE OFFICIAL RELEASE OF THE ONE, THE ONLY, EKT/EKI :-)
Spooked scared the crap outta me when it first came out! It didn't help that I lived close to Waverly Hills. It's so cool that ya'll are responsible for both "Ulterior Motives" AND "Spooked"! My mind is blown!
55:34 hold up, so the contest would be people dressing in 1980s clothes? Count me in man, it’d be neat dressing in clothes from the 80s, just need to know where I could find some.
2 absolute legends! Such a funny moment in internet history, finding out Ulterior Motives was actually used in an adult film 😂and it was made by 2 awesome guys.
I'll be honest, I'm not surprised because Christopher and Philip have been friends with my family for many years. That's why Christopher says at the beginning of the interview "you're like our lost son"! However, there have been a few interviews I've done in the past where even I was very surprised I got them, considering the fact I don't have over 1K subs!!
@JackLucasCaffrey Fascinating, that's insane luck! I hope you will have over 1k subs soon! This was a very great interview, great guests, great questions, and you didn't cut them off and gave them space to speak. And it's great that you didn't only focus on ulterior motives and instead asked about their other projects too !
@@jellynear-tears3775Thank you very much, I appreciate it! And yes, I would never have just focused on Ulterior Motives in the interview considering, at the end of the day, it's one song they wrote about 40 years ago!!
Thank you for this wonderful Interview. I am so happy for you guys i think its Gods Plan for you After 40years. I Can’t wait for the Album. God bless you Both.❤️🙏🏼 Love from Germany
Just discovered this track from whang. I've gotta say the music business is a strange world. This song slaps almost 40 years later. Surely they sent a demo to record companies? Maybe it never made it to the right person bc I can't believe it got passed over!

They almost fully lost their British accents after being in the US for so long, super interesting.
It can happen, there's people I know from Ireland who moved to the UK who COMPLETELY lost their Irish accent!!

it was Probably his Dad who Jacked off to this then Carl92 found the Recording of it

Absolutely thrilled for these guys. New 80s music in 2024 is a Time Machine. Same reason I love synthwave.
They seem like such cool ass dudes
i was really hoping all 22 songs would be released but hey ill be happy with whatever they put out
they deserve all the love they're getting
They should call the album 'Everyone knows that'
Why would they? That’s a terrible album name

Probably one of the best interviews i've seen in a while, this is surreal.

They should sell a record of it when it comes out
That'd be cool, I should have asked that actually!
I would totally buy this on vynl
