From the perspective of this American, Bahrain looks like a merger of both Las Vegas and Florida with the Persian Gulf right next to an arid, desert environment on land. I say Las Vegas in particular because there are few other desert cities in the US with significant skyscrapers. Landscaping with Date Palms is popular in the southwestern US too. The road infrastructure looks great; low traffic volume and well maintained.
Thank you for your insightful comments. I've been to Las Vegas, but I didn't realize there was such a view.
