@alubedopiasora I know they all fought them off at some point, but Staark and Baragon were eventually killed. Harribel was doing perfectly fine until Aizen came in. Her powers are similar to the ice guy, she can control all water in the atmosphere, except in liquid form. No wonder she was so tough.
Not to mention the captain in question with had an ice based zanpakuto said to be on par with Yamamoto fire weapon in terms of power. And he doesn't have near the years of experience.

I wouldn't say she died, more like was trapped in ice. Wonderweiss traded everything from his original hollow form for the single ability of being able to seal away Ryujin Jakka. If he had the power of resurrection, he could have done it for all the present Arrancar and essentially make his allies invincible, instead of only using it to break Hallibel's ice, and blow away the smoke on Baragon.
@Nyrufa all the top 3 took a captain and vaizards stark fought 2 vaizards shuinsui and had ukitake jump in at times barragan fought soi fon and hachi-dont remember if anyone else jumped in on that i dont need to even say who harribel fought
How / when did that happen? I get her aspect of death was Sacrifice, but I don't recall her gaining any power up because of their deaths, nor any sign they willingly died for her.
I stopped reading during the Fullbring Arc, only just got back in when I heard Yamamoto was using a Bankai and skipped through most of the chapters to find it.

Hallibel is really the only Arrancar who wasn't killed by the shinigami, and she was able to fight off a captain and two vaizards. She was powerful!
