When my grandpa worked at rite aid and had a house, a small vacation home and a stay at home wife, they taxed corporate profits over 1 million at 90%. It meant that companies put money back into the business, by paying employees, to avoid high taxes. Republicans destroyed that in the nineties, along with hundreds if other protections for working class people. Wages have been going down and costs up since. Anyone who thinks that the dems have destroyed the economy in four years is laughably uneducated. And the whole “trickle down” bs where allowing corporations to have high profits goes back to workers has been disproven so thorough that at this point it is not even a valid argument. Democrats like Elizabeth Warren have been fighting this battle for a long time. The democrats as a whole has been hit or miss, but if they want to continue to exist they need to focus on progressive economic policies and I think the shift is happening.
